Nice park, great view of the mountain. Large spots. Easy access. - darthfadar

Mark J RV Park was platted in 1958: yes, it's been here nearly 60 years! The park has many long-term residents, but also has many visitors that stay for a week or two. The older singlewide trailers are slowly being removed as they become vacant. 50A service with good water pressure and sewer at each site. Weekly individual site garbage collection. Park wi-fi... not so good, best in/near the clubhouse. No cable TV, but AT&T can provide telephone service and internet to each site. Park manager has been here for lots of years, lives on-site and offers excellent service. Other reviewers noted noise from busy streets, sirens and other urban distractions, but it is a generally quiet neighborhood evenings and weekends. Grocery & general shopping and restaurants within a short drive. Clean, quiet and well maintained and managed. Excellent value! - Retired-n-Roamin
Jul 2016 - $20.00
This daily rate is what it will work out to be when divided by 30 (so it may be just a bit more for the week). This is a minimum stay of 1 week RV park. Monthly rent is $545.00 which includes water, free mail forwarding service, electric (not extra), garbage, sewer and free GOOD WiFi. This park also has a laundry room and if you prefer to dry outside, there are 3 clothes lines to use for drying outside. Centrally located to everything. Walgreens, Tire store, Target, and various restaurants. - Denise M Smith
Dec 2015 - $17.00
My wife and I have spent the last six years here: from October to March. It is a great park. The manager runs a tight ship, but the same rules apply to everyone. You have a gravel suite for RV. Asphalt suite for the tow, and a concrete patio. I would have given it a 10, but for the spotty wifi. Owners don't want to invest the money. We still keep in touch with friends here.
(Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surfaces are asphalt, gravel and grass and feature a patio.) - Guy Wassather

As other reviewers commented, there are a few short term rv spaces in this mobile home park. The park is older and residents are friendly. There is no wifi and we were not able to access local tv. We were there for three nights in July while it was 104 degrees. We looked forward to using the swimming pool, which was open until 9:00 p.m. We walked over to the pool around 7:45 p.m and found that the manager made a decision to close the pool two hours earlier. Residents told us this was what he did on weekends so he did not have to come over later to lock the gates. We went to the manager's residence near the pool and asked if he might open the pool as per the sign stating it was open until 9:00. He refused, saying it was his decision to close early. even though it was 104 degrees out. We paid for services and the use of the pool, which was denied by the manager. We will never stay at this park again. - nn5
Sep 2015 - $18.00
Scattered throughout this mobile home community are sites for rvers. Easy check in and found the site with no problem. There is a pool and 2 laundry rooms. Really a no frills spot to stay. Stayed for 2 nights to visit sister. Very friendly neighbors and felt safe to walk at night in the community. Would stay here again if in the area. Only problem was placement of hookups. Water on the wrong side and sewer was under motor home. - mdmnkcm
May 2015 - $18.00
Needed a one night stay close to some friends who live in the area. This place certainly fit the bill! They save a few spots for RV's to sit. Full hookups, but no wifi to use. Very clean park, and very friendly staff. Would stay here again! - laurly
Sep 2016 - $49.00
First, I could never have parked my trailer without the very helpful assistance from the manager. We arrived after dark and the cramped quarters and lack of visibility made it very difficult for me to back my trailer safely. I'm sure the park was established when RV's weren't so large. Most of the spaces are occupied by long term residents. The two available spaces were very small. It is a nice looking park and work has been done and is continuing to improve the appearance of the park. - Watalotahui
Aug 2016 - $49.00
The spaces are just long enough for the RV, all back-in. Each site has grass, landscaping, and trees.
While the neighborhood may not be the best, the park itself is very clean and well kept. The manager expects people to follow the rules. He was super helpful and got us parked in no time.
The only negative about this park is that it is close to the freeway so there is noise.
We would stay here again. - Sespeausi
Jun 2016 - $49.00
Best park in Sacramento. Manager runs a tight ship and takes pride in running a beautiful park. Lots of long term residents but sites are very well kept. Grassy fenced in sites are very private. - PeterT
Apr 2008 - $32.00
This is an older park, but it is being maintained adequately. The campground host was very helpful. There is some disparity between the name in TrailerLife directory and the campground's website versus the park signage you actually will see when you drive up. Either it is *becoming* "Sacramento Shade RV Park", or it *used to be* called that, but as of today's date (4/2008) it is "Oak Haven RV Park". Although the park is close by the highway, the park is actually pretty quiet. VERY convenient access to downtown Sacramento, Old Town, and Arden Mall. This park seems oriented more to full-time residents than transient RV'ers. - JimF
Jul 2012 - $25.00
Do not even pull in to this campground. It's noisy at all hours of the night with motorcycles, loud cars, and fireworks. The homeless people wander through the park night and day digging in the dumpsters and stealing anything that's not locked. My daughter lost her bicycle. The Wi-Fi will not connect and only shows 1 bar when it shows anything. The only thing going for this park is friendly staff and the price. - possumtrotky
Jul 2011 - $25.00
Manager and Maintenance Man were great -- so helpful, friendly. Long-term and short-term/overnight sites. Close to light rail. Shadier in long-term area. Have just planted trees at sites in front. Nice laundry room. We felt safe as they personally checked out every vehicle coming into park. I didn't remember the rates - inexpensive. We will stay here whenever in Sacramento. - deb.williams
May 2016 - $30.00
I was desperate for overnight parking as 4 other parks I called from Loomis to Sacramento were booked up. Placer County Fair Grounds made space for me as they were pretty booked as well. Most campsites were occupied by long term folks that were packed in like sardines. The camp host gave me a spot off to myself with electricity only which was a relief after seeing the sardine sites. I stayed by myself while my husband was on a trip and didn't feel comfortable there by myself. Ended up moving to our family's driveway the next day. Depending on what is going on at the fairgrounds could impact your visit. Some sort of races going on when I got there on a Saturday afternoon so it was loud...but was over by 7pm. Appreciated the camp hosts giving me a nice site but I just felt unsettled while there. - JeffDeb
May 2014 - $30.00
First Fairgrounds experience and it is a good one. Made last-minute search for a place near Sacramento over Memorial Weekend. Got a number to call the host. He hooked us up with full 50amp hookups in the shade with lots of room to ourselves. Probably 20 campers over several acres. It was quiet except for several events Sat night. We walked to the car races, which were fun to watch. It quieted down after 11, which was fine. We could have gone to sleep earlier if that was our desire, not too loud. We will definitely stay here next time we're in the area. - Seb
Jan 2012 - $30.00
Other recent reviews generally reflect our opinion/experience. The best I can say is that it was quiet and affordable. The campground host, was a big help getting us into a spot during a heavy rainstorm. We camped in one of the few spots by the "Beer Garden". There are lots of other sites in a nearby open field, but not recommended should there be rain in the forecast. - rncordy
Aug 2016 - $40.00
The only reason I gave this RV park the rating I did, is that it had a dog park with grass. That and it's location to Sacramento are its only redeeming factors.
We were parked in the gravel parking lot with no trees, cigarette butts and trash on the ground and just generally not a nice environment. The best I can say is that the site was level and the utilities worked okay. Cell and Verizon air card didn't work that well here which was surprising as this was right in the city. Stores and restaurants were close.
The staff was helpful and there was someone cleaning up the parking lot we were in, but there was just a lot of little trash on the ground. There is security over night which is good, as it feels isolated.
To find the park go to Ethan Rd and Gate 13. Good location for getting on the bike trails. I'm not sure we would stay here again except for the location, and we would certainly ask to be put into the paved lot (which is not level), but I'd prefer to deal with unlevel than be in a gravel parking lot. - Danni
May 2016 - $40.00
About half of the sites here are on pavement, many with trees. The other half are on gravel, no grass or trees. Neither are level. There is a large dog park (really large) with grass. Laundry, restrooms and showers, and that's it. There are bike/walking trails just off the entry road, that travel into downtown, or out of town. - ta96silver
Apr 2016 - $40.00
Location, location, location! Convenient location in Sacramento region. Hosts are very nice. All concrete and parking lot feeling. Park is walking distance to bike/walk trail along the American River. - motorcity
Oct 2012 - $15.00
This club is in an industrial part of town. After 5 pm the area closed up and had virtually no noise. Businesses open at 0700 with their accompanying noises. Paved lot with maneuvering room for big rigs. (I'm 43') Easy driving to restaurants and shopping. Normal Elks Lodge amenities. On site black water dump with odd rules about dumping. Ask in advance to see when you can or can't dump. - Bucky Beaver
