To my eye, this park looks nothing like the pictures featured online. The main interior road is too narrow for comfortably driving in and out with a bigger rig. While I occasionally have to back in our 38 ft Class A, I can't remember ever having such tight quarters in which to try to turn. While we had full hookups, the cable connection was located on the other side of our coach, away from all the other utilities Good thing we have 50-ft. length of coax or we would have been out of luck. The cable TV was pretty decent with a lot of channels. WI-FI (via Tengonet) was slow and often unavailable. The water pressure seemed a bit on the low side, and the electric voltage was definitely lower than it should have been. I realize that the park was close to full and the temperature was in triple digits by late afternoon each day, but RV park should be equipped to deal with these conditions. You had better like waking up at 6 am or so because right behind the park is some sort of business using heavy equipment that they very loudly crash and bang early weekday mornings. If you have dogs, they better like doing their business on gravel because there is next to no grass anywhere here. There is one strip of grass outside the park entrance but so many dogs have left their piles there that it is nearly impossible to safely navigate it. Worst of all, when you approach the park entrance, the first thing you see is a lot full of weeds---and ratty old, apparently deserted RV's and old trucks, etc. Very unappealing. On the plus side, the office staff is very friendly and helpful and this location is only about 20 minutes or so from Yosemite. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Go to Yosemite, and go EARLY in the day...sunrise early. And don't ride the free shuttle buses unless you have to. They cram them so full you can barely breathe.

Easy to get in if you turn on Golden Oak Dr off of CA 426. Interior navigation is tight. Sites are very close together. Only a couple sites will work for satellite. Wifi very slow. Verizon signal is strong. Utilities worked fine. Office personnel very nice and very helpful. Laundry has two each washer and dryer but only one working when we were here. About as close to Yosemite NP as you will get for a big rig and full hook-ups. There is a picnic table and fire ring but the tight site puts them about 2-3 feet from your rig. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Welcome/Visitor Information center in town, just uphill from CA-426, is excellent. Very knowledgeable/helpful staff on both Yosemite and the entire surrounding area. This is between 1.5 and 2 hours from Yosemite Valley depending on how fast you drive on mountain roads and stops for logging work/construction. Groceries at Raleys is best balance of price and selection. South Gate Brewing Company had good food and beer. Good, very authentic Mexican food at Taqueria Plazuelas.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Pictures on website do not accurately portray the park. Premium sites are very close and have dirt tent sites right below them. Across the river you look at a large industrial building with trucks parked in a parking lot. Bathrooms and showers are dismal. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean park. Very friendly staff that was willing to let us move to a better site when it came open. Easy in and out with 41' class A and toad, although necessary to unhook toad at check in due to tight quarters. Nice location in town and easy access to south entrance into Yosemite. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a pull through site. There are only two. It was not next to the river, but we preferred it and would stay there again. We had a hill behind us and the access road in front. We liked the separation and privacy. Roads and pads were gravel. We had two small trees.

The river is not free flowing and more like a pond.

The school across the river and the business next to it were a bit loud. After about 5:00pm, the noise dropped and it was quiet at night. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Level site for us. Others not so much. Crowded park. Sharp turns uphill. Saw RVs dragging. You were on your own to check in at lunch time. Park was not very attractive. Closer than most to Yosemite NP. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 5 nights, Friday, Saturday rates are $2 higher for the premium sites. The park is located in the city, convenient for shopping/restaurants. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The sites as indicated by other reviews are close, as are the firepit/picnic table to the adjacent site. The Fresno River flows behind the park, waterfall at the other end. The sites are a combination gravel and grass. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 3 nights. Seemed to be a little pricey for what you get, but then you are in a popular tourist area. Tight spots to get backed into with a 34' trailer, better be a good backer. Driveways are gravel, site pads are mostly dirt, but level. Each power pedestal serves both a right side/left side connection, not sure our unit slides/awning would have even had enough room had there been a unit in the adjacent site. We had power issues, receptacles got hot and breakers tripped when our load exceeded 20 amps on a 30 amp service, they need to do some maintenance on their power pedestals. Water, sewer, cable tv, and wifi all worked fine. Picnic tables and a fire ring/grill is at most sites. Friendly staff, good adequate laundry facilities. The short term rv sites are located along a river, although there was no water running during our visit. Other long term rv sites and mobile homes are on a hill above this park, but we had no issues with them. Great location for access into Yosemite National Park. Evenings and nights were quiet during our stay, however just across the river is a public skate park and an industrial equipment yard. The equipment started up every morning we were there and made noise from 5:45am to 6:30am. One morning during our stay the trash truck ran around 4:30am and I think the driver was mad that he was the only one working during that time as he made sure the entire neighborhood was woke up. We would stay here again as long as it was during their off season like this trip was. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park for staying outside the south west gate of Yosemite. The park is not too special or fancy so don't go looking for frills. The spaces were clean and enough room to feel comfortable. The park staff are real friendly and keep the park clean. Easy check in and also easy to book online. Park is close to Highway 41 for easy access and close to food and shopping. This place is average at best, but it was the closest thing we could find to be at the south entrance of Yosemite, so beggars can't be choosers. The worst thing about the place is that two rigs share a utilities station, so one forwards in and the next backs in. Our front door was less than 20' from the neighbor's door, and when they parked their car in front of their door, we wouldn't have been able to put our awning out - it would have been over their car. Our two fire rings and picnic tables were five feet apart; not acceptable for a true camping experience. Oh, and this was all 3' from our door. A $20 deposit to use the bathroom/showers seemed a bit ridiculous - never seen that before in 50+ campground stays. No frills... vegetation wasn't nice to look at. Behind the really-low-water-because-of-the-bad-draught "river" is an industrial complex or two, so the view is bad. I hate to give a bad review that might hurt someone's business, but we really didn't care for this place and will pass it by the next time. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

If I could give this park a lower rating I would. It is an old, run down Mobil home park with some very narrow spaces. Words don't describe what a bad park this is. Don't stay there if you have a choice. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

We were a little apprehensive about this RV park based on some of the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the sites are a little close together, but we had adequate room. There's no stream, but that's probably due to the severe drought. The sites were all shaded. The bathrooms were clean. The manager was delightful and very helpful. We were there for three nights while we visited Yosemite and would definitely stay there again. There aren't a lot of amenities except free wifi, but we found that all our needs were met. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We are currently on our second night of a three night stay at High Sierra RV. Check-in yesterday was a breeze. In fact, it was probably the quickest check-in/setup we've ever had. The RV park is part permanent residents, part vacationers but the two areas are separated pretty well. The park isn't huge and there aren't a ton of sites, but honestly, it was kind of nice and it has made our stay very quiet. We are in site 42, which backs up to the river/stream and we can hear the trickle from our rig. California is in a major drought right now so there isn't much water in the stream. But, even with the drought, there is plenty of water in the swimming hole, which made my two boys happy! There is a $20 refundable key deposit for the showers, which we didn't use since we have full hookups. The laundry facility is small and there are no frills, but it's clean so there is nothing to complain about. We're rather enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back. The folks that run the place were pleasant enough and helpful when we asked for help/recommendations. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very abrupt and rude desk clerk "greeted" us upon arrival. Sites are Very cramped and you are elbow to elbow with your "neighbor". A $20.00 key deposit is required for the rest rooms and is returned when key is turned in. Office hours are 9am-5pm, so if you are breaking camp early you need to keep that in mind. Dump station also has to be unlocked to use. The stream and waterfall area are nice and the frogs singing at night was pleasant. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Tent Trailer.
