Staff very helpful and friendly - even carried a heavy delivery out to my vehicle from the office. Always had treats for dog. Fox tails were a huge problem. They have sprayed but they need to be pulled to remove hazard for pets. Great location with dunes access. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The site was covered with weeds and goat head stickers, when setting up the wife and I both stepped in dog poop. The two rows in front of us had clean gravel sites with no weeds (not our row). The water pressure.... well let's just say I have a squirt gun with more pressure. People let their dogs run wild in the park, hence the dog poop. Long term people can pretty much build anything on there site even park old junk cars. The neighbors water heater fires up every 4 minutes (annoying). People drive to fast in the park. Other than that friendly staff. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Some positive park changes since the last time we've stayed here - new working washer/dryers, renovation of the upper bathrooms, and extra TLC when cleaning sites after campers leave (raking areas). The office and park staff are very friendly and helpful. We like this park not just for the costs vs other parks in the area, but for the people and the location. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This was a "last minute, couldn't find anyplace else in the area" choice

The park is all gravel pads and is quite dusty at times if the wind blows

There are a few stunted palms but otherwise not much that's green and zero shade

There are a lot of full time residents and rigs and many are not well kept

The hookups were adequate

The roads are a bit tight and some turns getting to the site took a couple of tries in my 43' pusher

My space was barely long enough for my rig and with all slides out it was crowded on both sides

A huge 5th wheel tried parking on our second day and finally had to give up and go to an alternate site

The beach is almost 2 miles away across some beautiful sand dunes

My grandson and I hiked over and were sorely disappointed

As soon as you top the last dune you are treated to a scene of a beach area filled to the brim with ATVs and four wheel drive rigs roaring up and down the beach

The number of dogs in the park was astounding and they were constantly on the move

The morning we were leaving someone's yappy little dog was going at it full volume

A full time resident stuck his head out and shouted "shut that f###### dog the f### up"

My wife turned to me and said "time to go"

If you are vacationing, look elsewhere. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The hike over the dunes was the highlight of the stay

The park is way off the highway with a lot of navigation to get there and is hardly worth the effort

The park has recently upgraded the laundry facilities - a welcome change. New washers/dryers! The park does have a number of long-term residents but most have kept their individual sites clean and neat. We like this particular park because of its location and great staff. The park itself is a bit rough but all of the basics are there - clean water/power and working sewer. And, the sun shines most days with access to the sand dunes within walking distance at the edge of the park. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A quiet park a bit off the beaten path. The office people could not have been any nicer! The dunes were a sight to see. A longer hike than we had expected to reach the ocean, but hey, we are on vacation so we had all day! Enjoyed our stay and would stay again given the chance! Overall Rating:

Those are some tight pull-through spaces. It doesn't help there's a 4ft dead palm tree stump where our slide out goes--it barely cleared it. Other than that, our experience was great.

We picked this campground because of its location and the positive reviews on rvparkreviews. Our friends brought their RZR and we towed it a couple of miles to the dunes for a day of off-roading. No fire pits. Avoid sites near the bathrooms due to sewer smells. Didn't realize there was cable until the last hour we were leaving. We're new to RV'ing and didn't know the cable outlet was on the pedestal. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Interesting park in that it backs up to some of the largest sand dunes area in California. Definitely not close to the beach. It is a mile and a half hike over the dunes by foot. All of the sites on the outside perimeter are lease holders and most have landscaped their sites. They have also put up wind breaks composed of various materials. Some are better maintained than others. Short term guests, such as ourselves, are in the center aisles, which are pull through, a little narrow. With our 33 foot 5th wheel, it makes it a little difficult to park our full size truck! People are friendly, both the office staff and the other residents. We would stay here again. Our rate reflects our RPI membership fee and the off season rates. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The beach, by car, is several miles away. Lots of little beach towns with lots of stores and restaurants nearby. There is a Von's and a Trader Joes about 5 miles away. Horse back riding is available at this park.

We really enjoyed are stay at Pacific Dunes. Had a pull thru and the spots where actually wider than I expected based on some reviews I've read. Had plenty of room on both sides of trailer. I did notice some do have issues with the palm trees which are at the front of some spaces but not all. The people to left of us had a palm tree in front left corner of their space and struggled to get the 40 ft 5th wheel in because of it. The space I was in wasn't completely level but wasn't to bad and worked it out. We were in lower section mot far from the office. Hoping to get upper level next time because views to east look great from up there. Can't see ocean to west because of the dunes but it's close and not a far drive to enjoy day at beach. If you have dogs no great area for walking them. There are some bushes around edges of park which works but no nice grass area. Only grass is by office and it's not maintained and looks to be more weeds than grass. Would be nice if they cleaned it up and mowed it. There were a couple other little miner issues that bothered us but overall really did enjoy the stay and sure we will go back. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

If you want wifi it is provided by tengointernet. To start the service you have to go to start.tengointernet.com . The information provided to me from the park did not tell me this but it did have a phone number I called and got good help. They do charge and you can only use one computer per account login. For me wasn't to bad but for a family with several tablets could be expensive.

We've stayed before, down in the 'affiliates section' which is ok. Problem was they put us in a site (#19) that had a huge palm tree on our left at the front edge of the 'pull through', which meant we wouldn't pull out to our left as we should have. And then they had several big rigs come in during the night parked across from us that were really too big for the sites so we didn't really have maneuvering room to get out going to the right. Luckily the people on our right left even before we did, so we were able to use the front part of their site in order to get out. Use pads under the levelers because lots of sand on each site and not all is compacted. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice place to stay. Windy, but dunes were wonderful. Close to Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo so very centrally located. Beach is close by. Had only one problem. Motorhome next to us blocked us in, and we couldn't get our 36-foot 5th wheel out of our space. However, office staff was great, and they allowed us to stay an extra five days. Will definitely go back over and over. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

+ 5 gravel/dirt sites are level side-to-side; elec OK [voltmeter at 110 with space heater and hott rodd on]; quiet; extensive sand dunes are close

- 5 no cable, wi-fi is Tengo [$]; no trees or privacy hedges; park is run down: fences are falling, trash overflowed the dumpster; overpriced at $56.

We plan to try another park next time to see if a nicer park overcomes having ready access to the dunes. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The $18 rate reflects the RPI rate. The sites are gravel with full hookups, cable TV, and a picnic table. If you have your own fire ring you can burn wood. The sites are quite narrow, so when you and your neighbor have the slide-outs out, there's not a lot of space for your outdoor "patio". There is no shade, but usually there is a nice breeze from the ocean. We were parked next another couple traveling with us in their coach. So we parked to one edge of our site giving us more room in between for our common "patio" area. There are beautiful sand dunes between the park and the ocean. But don't think it is an easy walk to the ocean - it's over a 1/2 mile of rolling sand dunes. The restrooms and showers are clean. There is no pool or spa. They do offer horseback riding along the sand dunes to the ocean. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort in a Motorhome.
