RV Park has a great setting, lots of trees, Hat Creek runs through the park, good camping experience for kids, as it's not just another concrete-asphalt RV lot. Sites are semi-level dirt and gravel, with picnic tables and fire pits, quiet at night. They have an area for tents, yurts, cabins, and a motel. Small store on site (firewood, worms, food), Post Office, and a deli serving sandwiches. Cable TV and WiFi (accessible near the office) worked good. Staff was helpful and friendly. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Places to go when your not fishing: Lassen N.P. visitor center, McArthur-Burney Falls, Subway Cave, Hat Creek Observatory.

Went during the week so park was not crowded. Very quiet. Enjoyed the proximity to the Creek. Didn't fish this time but have in the past. Moderate success. A place to relax and unwind. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do, but that was the point of the trip. Read and Relax.

Unless you come here for fishing only, just keep on going. Poor facilities. All facilities are extremely old and in poor condition. Restrooms have never been upgraded. The wiring is overhead in the trees, there is no recreation room, sites can be difficult to access, sites are all dirt, and 30 amp power only. Resort is not a resort. It is simply a RV park that is not worth the money. Staff is nice but rumor has it that the manager is not here much. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old campground in a beautiful setting, the fishing is great and the staff is very helpful. The campground has all dirt roads and is laid out in an awkward way, making the access difficult. It is like being in a Forest Service campground that is poorly designed but that has full hook-ups. It is a family friendly campground and lots for the kids to do, but it is not a resort. Wash your rig after your stay, not before. We would come again. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

This is an over rated and over priced RV Park; it is not a Resort. Sites are very had to get into for Big Rigs; 30 amp service is marginal; electric lines are hung from tree to tree; sewer drains slowly and we had an unsanitary connection; just pushed sewer hose into pipe and tied it with a string provided by the park. Roads are very dusty and poorly maintained. The only thing going for this park is "Hat Creek" which was pretty and trout fishing appeared to be good, I did not fish. No AT&T cell phone service and Wi-Fi didn't work on my site. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

I was very happy with my stay at this park. It is not very big-rig friendly since you have to weave in and out between trees on dirt roads to get to your site. The park staff were all very nice and guide people with big rigs into their sites. All of the sites are plenty long and are very wide. They seemed as large as campsites inside the National Parks, but with the added benefit of full hookups, cable and free wifi. All of the sites are in the forest and have fire pits and picnic tables. Most are close to the creek. There is little chance of receiving a satellite signal at this location though. The park seems to struggle with keeping their cable connections working due to the harsh winters. I was only able to watch 2 TV stations of the 15 cable stations listed. If TV is important to you, you may be unhappy. With so much to do and the beautiful forest, it was no problem for me. The park is older and some of the utilities seem to be after thoughts, but the staff seem to do well to keep everyone happy. The free Wi-Fi worked great for 6 of my 7 nights stay. Verizon cell and data services were weak, but worked too. I would recommend making reservations here. I stayed for a week. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

Rate shown is a standard back-in site with Good Sam discount. Fantastic campground for families and kids. Rustic setting with lots of shade trees, the creek runs right through the campground, quiet at night. Sites are semi-level dirt, with picnic tables and fire pits. Bring your own firewood as it is expensive in the store. Full hookups with cable TV. The Wi-Fi is free but only accessible near the office. Restroom and showers were old, but cleaned daily, and since there are only two restrooms they have porta-toilets at various locations. There are separate areas for tents, yurts, cabins, and a motel. Small store on site, Post Office, and a deli serving sandwiches. New basketball and volleyball courts. The Hat Creek is stocked with Brook and Rainbow trout frequently during the summer months. Some good day-trips to see when you're not fishing, Crystal Lake fish hatchery; Mt. Lassen NP visitor center and one-mile loop trail; and McArthur-Burney State Park. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

This was great for my family of 5, including kids (ages 2-10) because we wanted a natural camping environment (no TV, pool, etc.) and the kids caught their first stream trout. Yes, we started fishing just after the Tuesday morning stock. Creekside hookups were easy for us first-timers and the staff was very helpful. Store is well-stocked. Would stay here again. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

This park has it all! Great staff, large level sites, easy set up along with a great location. Kids were catching lots of fish right in the creek on the campground. Has a well stocked store. Only regret is that we could only stay one day, would stay again. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is in a really great environment, tucked into tall pine trees and directly along Hat Creek. The trout fishing is great right in the park, with lots of people catching their dinner just a few feet from their RVs. We took a short hike on the trails behind the park, right up onto the Pacific Crest Trail, and found a great viewpoint overlooking Mount Lassen in nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. There are lots of cabins too, which looked really cozy, along with RV sites with their own horse stalls so that people can bring their horses along to ride on the trails. It was nice to find a forested campground that had lots of really big sites, with plenty of room for our large RV. Everything was clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and we had a great meal in the cafe too. It's pretty remote here, so having a place to eat, along with a large convenience / camp store was handy. Great place for a peaceful getaway. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.
