First, the good about this park. The setting is lovely with lots of trees and a creek running behind the campground. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only about 15 miles to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Now, the bad. This could be a very nice campground but it's run down and in serious need of updating. Reading past reviews we saw that there used to be wifi and cable TV but neither were available during our stay. There were runs of coax cable around our site that just ended. I had to move one out of the way as it was a trip hazard. The roads in the campground are awful! It was hard at times to tell where the road ended and the sites began. As others have noted the sites are laid out all over the place. Luckily the site across from the one we had been assigned was empty or we would have had a hard time getting our small travel trailer into it. On our way out we actually lost the road and couldn't tell which way to go. Only when we spotted a speed limit sign nailed to a tree did we find the road again. Lots of pots holes and rocks too. There were quite a few porta potties around. I've never seen that at a campground before! Our Verizon service was unusable but that's not the campground's fault. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

If you really need Verizon service you can drive a few miles toward Lassen and stop at the first view point. We got 3G service in the parking lot. If you head towards Susanville you can get 4G service at a view point along that road.

The park is located in a forest of tall pine trees next to Hat Creek, a very beautiful fishing stream. It has a funky feel to it but that is part of what we liked about it. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Infrastructure like sewer, electrical, and water are homemade. This does not detract from the charm of the place as it all functions perfectly. It was quiet, with wind blowing through the pines, and there is a nice trail along the creek to walk. It is close to Mt Lassen National Park which is a real jewel. We would stay here again. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

This park is set among beautiful pine trees with a pretty creek/river flowing through. The sites are very clean. The only negative I would say about this park is like previous reviewers have said, the sites are scattered around and not very uniform. We have a small 20 pull trailer, I don't think as tight as some of the roads are through the trees we would have been comfortable pulling through. Overall a lovely park with very nice people working there. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

My family stays here for a week each summer. The main reason for that is because the park has, RV sites, motel room, cabins, yurts and tent sites. Not all of our family own RV's so the options are nice. The campground is corporate owned and run by a manager. All of the people who work at the campground always treat us well. Those people make the campground. Verizon cell service works weakly, AT&T not at all. The WiFi didn't work at all. More and more campers rely on WiFi to keep in touch with family, pay bills, etc. Especially people who travel extensively. If a campground advertises WiFi, it should be working. The campground is VERY dusty. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Interesting site arrangements. Not in the typical row pattern, which makes each site unique. Roads could be better marked, but easily determined once you drive in. Plenty of backing and turning room. We were one row off Hat Creek and the water flow was louder than the few passing vehicles. Bathrooms old, but well maintained, large shower stalls. Would stay here again. Staff was friendly and very helpful. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for four nights. We had site #1, right on the creek with a beautiful LARGE Trex deck that we stepped onto right from our travel trailer. Couldn't have had a better setup! The deck had a picnic table and we were able to use our portable fire pit on the deck in the evening. When we arrived, there was someone very helpful to get us situated in the site and next to the deck. Funny how my husband was so nice to them when they were helping him back in.

Everyone working here was nice and helpful. The store has limited supplies (but PLENTY of night crawlers). No newspapers. I had cell reception (Verizon) but their wireless is weak and is not private. I have to agree with other reviews that the roadways are not very clear but they are marked somewhat. All the sites are marked, too.

You need to know that this park is right on Highway 44 and there is noise from passing cars/trucks. The closer to the creek you are, the noisier it is. Not too bad, though. Overall, this park is a little run down and I felt their nightly rate was a bit high for the condition of the place. The restrooms are old but appeared to be fairly clean. For those wanting to fish, this location is ideal! We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

We have been traveling for 6 weeks and this is the worst place we stayed. The park layout is crazy! You can barely tell if you're in a campsite or on a road even with a campground map in your hand. I expect some dirt, we are camping after all, but the dirt here was beyond bad. They definitely need to lay down some gravel or plant some grass and define their roads better! There are power line hanging from trees held up by ropes, not too safe. On a positive note the people were friendly and did give us a refund when we left a day early. I do not recommend this place even though it's the closest to Lassen Nat'l Park. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

When we first arrived we were pretty pleased - there were plenty of trees! However it quickly devolved from there. The roads inside the park were very confusing and not marked in the slightest. There were so many trees so close together that getting anywhere was a little difficult. The first spot we were directed to was so narrow our smaller, 22 foot long, maybe 12 foot wide, RV barely fit. We had to fold both sets of mirrors in and it was still close. It was just unacceptable, you couldn't have space enough to put out the sewer hose (the connection, which was in the ground at a really bad angle, was hard to find!) [spot 35]

They moved us to another spot (#38) that was better. Although still very confusing to get in and out of. The sewer hookup here was also at a weird angle, instead of pointing down to let gravity work, it was parallel to the ground and had no method to make the liquid drain into the connection, when you unhooked it spilled onto the ground.

The bathrooms were atrocious. They were very dirty at multiple points in a day, they were grimy and dark. Honestly felt like I'd come out dirtier than I went in if I showered there. There weren't many stalls for both toilet and shower for the sheer number of people in the park.

They offered wifi, and while they said it was accessible everywhere, it wasn't. You couldn't even connect next to the office. It was a joke, pure and simple. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

Resort? What a joke. Everything the previous two reviewers said was accurate except for the utilities. Our 30-amp power was erratic and so low we had to turn off the AC to run anything else. Our pull-thru was a pull-in/back-out because of the trees. Roads and sites are in desperate need of something to keep the dust down. (Days later our sinuses still haven't recovered.) No place to walk dog that wasn't covered in dust so she tracked it onto the furniture and our feet and shoes were filthy. Wifi didn't work anywhere, even at office. Verizon hotspot didn't work. No cell service but enough to text with. Satellite TV didn't work and park employee couldn't fix it. Sewer hook-up was awful....a 2-foot tube sticking up in air which had to be dismantled in order to dump, then reassembled to leave as it was. Campfires all over the place while Forest Service fire hazard rating was EXTREME. Made us very nervous, especially with no phone. We had to pay for all 3 days months ago when making reservations, probably because they're afraid of cancellations if more accurate reviews are read later. Would NEVER stay here again! We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Resort? Hardly! This campground is in major need of a make-over. The area is pretty with lots of trees and a creek but the whole place is totally run down. The one positive is we had a very helpful man guide us into our spot. The sign to "STOP and check-in at the store" is well past where you need to stop and check in at the store! The sites are very poorly marked. You really don't know what is a site and what is a road, as it is just all dirt and all the sites are just helter skelter. The hook-ups worked OK. The road or exit out was very poorly marked and full of pot holes. The bathrooms were horrible. I doubt they had been cleaned in years although the toilets did flush. This campground is in a good location for visiting Lassen Volcanic Natl Park but I would never stay here again. The volcanic dust gets into everything and everything is gritty. They need to add some gravel, define the sites, pave the sites or at the very least the road, so there isn't a constant cloud of dust. The motel looked very run down. The store was an absolute joke and since the nearest grocery store is almost 30 miles away, it was very disappointing. Cannot recommend this place at all. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived earlier than check in time, and got escorted to our site right away and the gentleman was so gracious in helping my husband get our Class A situated. After we got settled in I checked in at the store. It was quick and easy.

The RV park was quiet both during the day and also at night so we got an awesome night's rest. The trees at the edge of the park were a beautiful backdrop. We enjoyed watching hikers as they came off the Pacific Crest Trail to make their way to the store. We walked alongside the Creek, through the camp, took photos, enjoyed the visiting chipmunks.

Found the park very relaxing and enjoyed the rustic feel. We did not use any of the bathroom facilities etc., so cannot comment.

We are heading to Hat Creek RV Park again in August. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

Older RV park right on the creek. Several older RV's are used as vacation homes, most pretty run down. All the utilities worked well. Our space was a pull in. Very awkward for a travel trailer but the staff were helpful in getting in. Biggest gripe were the restrooms and showers. Just plain nasty and were that way the whole three days we were here. Park is crowded during the summer and many stroll or even ride bikes right through our camp site. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Rustic-type campground with lots of trees. No WiFi or cell service. Our #7 site backed up to Hat Creek. Sites are very large with plenty of space between. Yurts, cabins, and a small motel on-site with a small store and deli inside. Volleyball court, basketball court, great for kids. We were there mid-week. Not crowded. Short drive into Lassen. Cell service 6 miles away. We camped at Hat Creek Resort & RV in a Motorhome.

RV Park has a great setting, lots of trees, Hat Creek runs through the park, good camping experience for kids, as it's not just another concrete-asphalt RV lot. Sites are semi-level dirt and gravel, with picnic tables and fire pits, quiet at night. They have an area for tents, yurts, cabins, and a motel. Small store on site (firewood, worms, food), Post Office, and a deli serving sandwiches. Cable TV and WiFi (accessible near the office) worked good. Staff was helpful and friendly.
