A good destination spot for families. Wifi non existent in the evening They charge $10 more per night on the weekend. Rate above is average without Good Sam discount. Rates for 50 amp full hookups same as for 30amp E&W good campfire setup We camped at Olema Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects a weekend stay. Our site was back-in, on one of the little cul-de-sacs towards the rear of the park. 30 amp electric and water were fine. Note that the main loop at the front of the park is the only part of the park with sewer connections; the rest of the RV spots are W/E only. There are also several tent-only areas. The sites on the main loop at the very front of the park appear quite tight, whereas those further around the loop are spaced more adequately and some have separating greenery. The W/E sites are in pairs with a common electric pedestal, so one is back-in, the other pull-in (back out). This is a basic campground, not a "resort", but well-kept. Appears very family friendly, based on the number of kids riding bikes around the campground. Although the campground was dry when we visited, it is low-lying with a stream at the rear of the park and I can well envision the flooding that others mention in their reviews. Three stars for value only because of the location, as there are not amenities to justify the relatively high price. We camped at Olema Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Olema, a blink-and-you-miss-it town, is a 1/4 mile walk south on Hwy 1 and the Farmhouse restaurant/bar is a good casual dining option. Up the road a couple miles north is Point Reyes Station. Check out Bovine Bakery with great muffins and sweet rolls and a next-door picnic area at which to enjoy them. Diesel/gasoline and a supermarket there, too. If you have a full day to hike, Point Reyes National Seashore Park has excellent trails through forest, past backpack campsites, to the coast.

We stayed for 4 nights. We received a friendly and polite welcome. Our site was on the main circle. We disconnected only so we could visit local attactions without our trailer. The trailer did not require leveling blocks. There were privacy shrubs between sites on the circle. Other sites, not on the main circle, appear more spacious, with trees and park-like. No cable available, and no air/antenna reception - a good time to read and enjoy nature. Our Verizon 4g signal was adequate - 2 bars, and we did not try their wifi. The cg is older but well kept. We camped at Olema Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There are lots of hiking/nature opportunities nearby. E.g., Bear Valley trail. The Pt.Reyes lighthouse/national seashore, and Tomales bay area, are great for day trips. We recommend the Station House Cafe in Pt.Reyes and the Farm House restaurant in Olema. Its a 5 min walk to the tiny town of Olema, and a 2 mile drive to the town of Pt. Reyes Station where you will find more services, stores, restaurants and tourist attactions.

We love this campground, even though it is one of the higher priced places we've stayed. But you have to take into consideration where it is. The utilities are all up to date. The wifi worked albeit slowly. Nice clean very large spaces. Lot's of grass in between. The dump station was clean too. We camped at Olema Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great stay. Stayed one week. Park was large and unique layout with camping and RV sites; had a playground for kids. Was able to ride bicycles and run in and around the park. Large back in site. Overall great time and will certainly visit again. We camped at Olema Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It happened to be raining when we were there and it flooded quite a bit. The maintenance guy was great, watching the flooding levels all night. They moved us to slightly higher ground. And refunded one night when we left early. So everyone was great there but from asking around at nearby campgrounds when we are trying to figure out where to go during the rain, this campground is known to flood. I felt it was overpriced for what it was. It is an older campground with smaller sites. But it is in a good location. And all the campgrounds are expensive there. We camped at Olema Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were originally assigned a site by the "100 Meadow" then 50 kids showed up with chaperones/parents and all hell let loose. Our site backed directly onto this. You can't blame the kids but I do the park and the parents. There was no call, in a campground, for that amount of noise. We moved to a quieter site the next morning. We were here for 2 days.

Sites were basically level. First site 106 was large but pretty open - 1 tree. This site was a back in, the adjacent site was pull in - shared tower but separate utilities - power/water.

Second site J2 had bushes/trees on either side, much nicer.

Showers (2) in washrooms were large but shared "common" dressing area - a bit different. There was enough room behind the shower curtain to get dressed in private but pegs for clothes were in the common area.

Only other oddity was they sprayed the roads with water quite frequently - I didn't think there was that much dust, but roads were muddy to drive and walk on. I think the idea was nice but way too much water IMHO.

Would we stay here again - No. Not much around and about. And as the name suggests it is really a campground. We camped at Olema Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Point Reyes Station was a nice little place to visit and have coffee/shop.

Point Reyes Lighthouse was a bit of a drive, but well worth the bumpy, twisty roads. The views are spectacular. We even saw whales (in the distance).

Very convenient location for exploring nearby areas. Although no sewer hookup it was adequate for 3 night stay. A lot of trees have been removed since the last time. The remaining trees dropped a lot of sap on our equipment and selves. Water hookups leaked, which would be a concern during this drought. Overall would return here again. Sites are spacious and include fire ring. Wifi is inadequate on weekends due to volume of campers. We camped at Olema Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed at an electric/water site. Camp was full on the weekend, deserted after noon on Sunday. Electricity was constant, water good. Used the dump station and it worked fine. Location was good for trips to the "city" and up and down the coast, which is very popular. Initially, we were put in a site that was not level, for a week long stay--but, it was easily remedied by the friendly staff. Internet login is complex, but works well, even during peak periods. Olema Campground is a nice campground for visiting Point Reyes National Seashore and is a one hour drive, 37 miles, from San Francisco.
The price is very good compared to closer San Francisco RV park options.
The campground is very large with good spacing between sites and separate areas for tent campers.
This will definitely be our base for any future visits to the San Francisco area. We camped at Olema Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights mid-week; we had partial hookups (water and electric). The site was very spacious, near trees and shade, very quiet. Notably, there were no Mosquitos, a big plus for us. The sites are very easy to back into. The grounds are well kept; the bathrooms clean. There are 2 showers in each bathroom; we didn't use them but they were very clean. Only draw back on the showers: you share the little dressing area; could be an issue for some. Others have commented on the Wi-Fi; we had excellent reception. There are sites near the front of the park with full hook ups; some are fairly spacious, others a bit tight. Also they are closer to the main road(Highway 1) and road noise could be an issue. A few of the sites further in the RV park have full hook ups. There is a lot of area for tent camping. All the sites have a table and fire pit. The park is near the town of Point Reyes Station which has a number of shops, restaurants. Then there is the Point Reyes National Seashore with plenty of hiking trails, the lighthouse, etc. In the past we've stayed at nearby Samuel P. Taylor State Park and while it is a lot less expensive, (a) they have no hook ups(b) it's a bit warmer (c) We were eaten alive by the Mosquitos. I'd definitely stay at Olema Campground, given the choice. We camped at Olema Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

You could drive down to San Rafael, take the ferry to San Francisco and spend a day in the city. I wouldn't advise driving into San Francisco; it isn't that car friendly. And if you do drive over the Golden Gate Bridge be aware that they no longer have toll booths. If you're from out of state and/or don't have a Fast Trak transponder, they take a picture of your license plate and send you a bill. The toll isn't cheap ($7.25).

Nice rustic park, gravel roads and pads that are decently level. Sites are good size and there are nice trees around. Dump station is easy to access, which is good since most sites do not have sewer so Sunday has a pretty long lineup at the dump station.

Very quiet at night and good food and drinks within walking distance in Olema, or take the county bus to Point Reyes Station for small town shopping and supplies.

My only complaint would be that for some reason many people felt their dogs did not need to be on a leash and just let them wander around. This makes for some uncomfortable situations when our dog get anxious to have some other dog loose wandering in to her camp. The staff may need to step up and remind dog owners to leash up, too bad people can't just be responsible for themselves.

Looking forward to our next stay at Olema Campground. We camped at Olema Campground in a Motorhome.
