This place is very nice but I am sorry to say there is nothing that can override the horror of this train that goes by several times a day and through the middle of the night. It is truly terrible. It feels and sounds like you are laying on the tracks. What a shame. Unless you are not bothered by trains and want to pay a ridiculous amount of money - skip this. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Booked in advance and got a monthly off season rate. The property is clean and well groomed. Super convenient location and lots of thing to do around the property if you choose. Nice pool area. They have a couple of social gatherings every week which was nice. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We have chosen to stay the past two Decembers at this beautiful resort. From the moment we checked it, all our experiences have been very pleasant. We did have to change sites once, as we were not able to get satellite reception through the trees. However, cable TV is available at each site, so if we hadn't been able to change, it would not have been a problem. The exercise room is very well equipped with weight machine, free weights, stationary bikes, elliptical, and treadmills. The huge swimming pool is glorious...absolutely perfectly warm temperature to swim in the morning in DECEMBER! Added bonuses include the magnificent Saturday morning breakfasts provided to the guests free of charge, golf putting greens and 3 short golf holes to keep in practice, plus all the grapefruit (pink and white), oranges, and tangerines you want to pick fresh off the trees. You will notice the trains passing next to the resort, but not obnoxious. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $82.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two full winters in this park about a decade ago; it was really nice then. Stopped in recently knowing that most of the park had been converted to condos years ago, but curious what it was like now. We specifically asked for a site as far away from the railroad tracks as possible. We arrived late and instead found that we had been located in the section of the park that was closest to the tracks and very noisy. The rest of the park was nearly empty, so we didn't understand this. In addition, our neighbors in this section of the park were clearly long-term-resident working folks, with laundry hanging out, plywood tacked on their RVs, etc. This section of the park looked more like a low-rent park, rather than the luxury RV resort we had experienced in the past. Our next-door neighbor spent most of the evening running power tools and working on his RV; not the most peaceful for us considering the $82 we had paid. Overall, this once lovely RV resort has hit the skids and we will not be returning. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Don't understand most recent review from others. We stayed two weeks plus in late Sept. to early Oct. 2016 and loved it. We have stayed here several times and each time came away very pleased. The pool, showers, grounds etc. all in wonderful condition. Wifi worked well, TV worked well. Excellent RV park and glad to have stayed there. PS. we already have our reservation for 2017. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. This was our first RV park, as this was our first shakedown trip in our new motorhome. The western part of the park is spacious and nice. The eastern side looks crowded. The noise from the trains at night is very noticeable, and we have an otherwise very quiet Newmar motorhome. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in late June when temps were in the 110 range and the park was about 10% full. We were in the desert to visit family, not as a destination vacation this time of year. We were upgraded when we checked in to a back in site with lots of shade and grass. It was beautiful, and gave us some feeling of relief from the heat. Outside noise was not a problem as our A/C's ran 24/7, and trips to the pool were short and few. The bathrooms and gym look like they were just remodeled and are beautiful and clean. Internet was strong and fast. Dog friendly. Easy on/off freeway and close to just about anything you would want to do in the desert. Gate is locked at night and you are given a code so feels very safe. Utilities worked great. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV Park, however a few odds things I didn't understand. First the Very Good: the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I requested a site change after my first night's stay (too close to the trains) and was greeted by a VERY nice professional young lady who did what she could to accommodate my request. Considering it was the start of Memorial Day weekend with a full park, I was impressed with her attitude and personality. Nonetheless, very impressed with the service. The park is very clean and well kept, but the odd things I didn't understand, there were no picnic tables at any of the sites! Odd for a place in the desert where it is conducive to outdoor eating, we camped with friends and had to eat in chairs outside. The other odd thing was that the water sprinklers came on every night at 10 PM! No warning, each night people who were sitting outside enjoying the warm weekend weather went scrambling to secure their belongings when the water came on. What made this very strange was the fact that the water sprinklers came on again each night around 2 AM. Maybe their way of enforcing quiet time. The pool area along with workout room was very nice, great facility. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This RV park has beautiful grounds. The clubhouse and pool area a great for a campground. We were here with a group and the facilities for our group were very nice. We have a 42' class A motorhome. Our site was listed as a premium site, yet it was a back in and barely fit our rig. It was impossible to fit the car in front of it and not have a bit of the Jeep in the street. The wifi was unusable it was so slow. So we used our Verizon personal hot spot, but the reception was only OK. Very large and very nice dog area. Our pooch loved it. Lots!!! of flies though. When you sat down the flies were all over you. Trash picked up in front of your site.

There was a large wall/storage facility between us and the freeway and trains. The wall does lower the sound level, but there are lots of trains that go by. Lots of them. And a constant din and some blast from Interstate 10 which is right on the other side of the train tracks. After five days the noise was getting to me. Thankfully our coach is heavily built with double pane windows so that reduced it quite a bit. But we like to sleep with the windows open. Bring your ear plugs. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 6 nights with a rally group, then an additional three nights because our truck broke down and took a week to fix. The park is beautiful and well maintained. We also experienced loud live music at the main pool one evening (we moved to the much smaller 'adult' pool - not big enough to do laps, but enough to get cooled off). The exercise room is very nice with a couple of elliptical machines, some treadmills and weights. The park also has a couple of golf 'holes' that you can use to practice chipping and putting. We found the wifi to be very fast, however the park was only 20%-50% full, so the results might be different if the park were full. The sites do not include picnic tables.
The only major drawback we found was the train tracks that run next to the park. Trains come by once or twice per hour. This will bother some people and not be an issue for others. We were in site 600 - mid way between the train tracks and Frank Sinatra Blvd. The sites numbered 2xx are closer to the train track and sites 6xx are further from the trains, but closer to the blvd. Sites lower than 200 are in a much denser area and I don't what the noise is like over there. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overpriced, noisy (from trains and street), short back-in space for our 38ft motorhome with 3 slides. Our tow just barely fit. Requested a QUIET, pull-through spot. Got a short, noisy back-in spot instead, with little shade and close quarters to our neighbor. We were in site #9, right over the wall from entrance and the "Frank Sinatra Drive speedway". No table.

No daily newspaper. Could not get one of the 3 main channels on cable during our stay.

Daily trash pickup at site was nice. Staff guided us to our site and helped with back-in. Small pool we didn't use.

This place appears to focus more on their abundant and lovely grounds maintenance than on their RV customer.

We stayed for 3-4 nights. Would not return. Very expensive park at $70 a day. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were here during school spring break with kids. We had a premium site. It is a beautiful park. It qualifies as a resort. Landscaping is perfect. Most sites are back-in. Maneuvering was wide and easy. Lots of cable channels. Wi-Fi was good. Fenced dog runs were in good shape. Pitch and putt golfing around the perimeter. Pools and spa were nice. It is in the city for conveniences. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We do not understand the high ratings given this park. In its favor are its location and it is well maintained with one exception (see below). Nevertheless, it is a typical RV park parking lot, a nicely landscaped parking lot, but a parking lot. We think the problem may be a disconnect between the young staff and the older retirees who are the majority of the visitors. For example, there is a lovely pool area, but the staff blares loud music at those trying to sleep, sun, read or even have a conversation without shouting. They will turn it down if asked....eventually. One visitor says she uses the tiny pool near the laundry room because she and her friends cannot stand the loud music in the main pool area, but the staff acted insulted when I asked them to turn it down, if not off.
The laundry facility is a disaster. On a Friday morning of the beginning of a holiday weekend, the machines were failing like
dominos. Rather than being touring Modernism Week opening or enjoying the out of doors, it took me over 3 hours to do 2 loads of laundry. Another guest was so irate she shouted that she would never return to this RV Park because it was the worst laundry facility she had experienced in over 20 years of RV travel. For a park as expensive as this one, they could do better.
And it is noisy....traffic noise, train noise....not a relaxing environment.
No newspapers available...empty machines, not a single vending machine with cold soft drinks...they could do a lot better. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We love Emerald Desert RV Park and come at least once a year for 2-3 weeks. The landscape and amenities are great. Lots to do in the Palm Springs area and lots of fantastic restaurants. The park has three dog parks, pickle ball courts, putting green, and a heated swimming pool. There is a laundry room. Although there is no propane sold at the park, a propane truck is in the park almost daily. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park does not have alot of activities but has 2 pools, fitness room, boccee ball, billiards. Staff is very nice and helpful. Dog park which we don't need but nice. Concrete pads, grass in between.
