When we arrived the temperatures were abnormally hot (over 40 degrees Celsius daily). Our first site had the trailer positioned such that it was in mostly full sun all day long and the air conditioner had a terrible time trying to cool our rig. I surveyed a couple of empty sites which had better shade and asked at the office if I could move to one of them. The happily accommodated my request and our air conditioner was able to cool much better. The entire resort is kept in pristine shape, although the street signs are very faded and definitely in need of replacement. A few downsides though: the noise of the trains that roar by on a regular basis, the poor wifi, and the lack of picnic tables at the sites. This still remains one of our favorite stops. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

For the nightly rate, even just a picnic set or table would be a welcome addition. The park was beautifully landscaped and well-maintained. We were fortunate to visit during their off-season (summer) and they gave us 2 sites to function as a pull-through. Interior roads are very narrow, though, and we had to disconnect our tow vehicle to get into the site. Very friendly office staff and it looks like they have lots of activities during winter months. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were at this park for 3 nights in May when it was mostly empty. I can imagine what it must be like in the winter months! But we didn't have many complaints, other than why no picnic table provided? For the price we certainly should have had that amenity. And we weren't sure why they have a no charcoal fire rule. The pool, on the other hand, has to be the nicest we've seen in an RV resort. The trees throughout the park were nice and gave us a little shade. We were close to the train tracks but the noise didn't bother us as much as it did others. We would come here again. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV park. Well groomed, nice grass in our area. Most all sites are back in. Roads are wide, so backing seems easy enough, but the park was very empty. We had site 302-303. This is a small area of sites, during of off season you can "double up" and use both sites as a pull though. There is a train track near by, can be bothersome, but it did not seem to bother us. FHU's very good condition, water and power. Pad are level, cement. Table, no fire ring. Did see some people with camp fires tho. There are fire ants here, we used a vinegar solution to keep them away. (the park will spray, but we have a dog) The park also recommends household cleanser around the wheels and such to keep them away from your rig. Dog park very well groomed and nice grass. T-mobile had very good signal, with Verizon being good. Park has nice trees in this area which may block onboard sat. signal, but there is good park cable with many stations. Wifi would hang even though the park was nearly empty for this type of park I expected much better wifi. Park has a lot of amenities. two pools, hot tub and such. We were here for an overnight stop off of I-10. Would like to return to spend more time. It is one of the pretties parks we have visited, very well kept. Would stay here again. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Our family of 4 enjoyed many of the resort's amenities, including tennis, swimming at their gorgeous pool, horseshoes, and bike riding around the serene property. The location offers easy access to the 10 freeway and within a 10 minute drive to the 111. There is also a very nice fitness facility and spa. Overall, it was a perfect getaway! We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We spent a day at the Palm Springs Tram, which was an easy 20 minute drive (one-way). If you enjoy hiking, we like the Indian Canyons that offer beautiful trails with towering palms. The Living Desert Zoo is also a nice place to visit, which is located in Palm Desert. If you have small children, we really enjoy the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert (located in nearby Rancho Mirage).

Overall Rating:

This is our second time staying here in April when most of the snowbirds have gone home. We stayed in the 'premier' section of the park (East side). It was 1/3 occupied at most. Our site was not long enough to park the truck in front of the trailer it had to be angled in. The grounds, pools, and facilities are very well kept. Kudos for all the grounds keepers. The interior roads are easy to navigate although when it gets busy with people parking outside of their site I can see it becoming difficult for the back-in sites. You are not allowed to wash your trailer/car on site so you are held hostage to their local cleaning service at $5-$10/foot so a 30 footer will cost you $150 for simple exterior wash. The train noise can get you some people but we got used to it and didn't really bother us. You also get highway noise so it is not the most quiet resort. This is one of the better RV resorts in the area so we would stay here again. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is very nice but I am sorry to say there is nothing that can override the horror of this train that goes by several times a day and through the middle of the night. It is truly terrible. It feels and sounds like you are laying on the tracks. What a shame. Unless you are not bothered by trains and want to pay a ridiculous amount of money - skip this. Overall Rating:

We have chosen to stay the past two Decembers at this beautiful resort. From the moment we checked it, all our experiences have been very pleasant. We did have to change sites once, as we were not able to get satellite reception through the trees. However, cable TV is available at each site, so if we hadn't been able to change, it would not have been a problem. The exercise room is very well equipped with weight machine, free weights, stationary bikes, elliptical, and treadmills. The huge swimming pool is glorious...absolutely perfectly warm temperature to swim in the morning in DECEMBER! Added bonuses include the magnificent Saturday morning breakfasts provided to the guests free of charge, golf putting greens and 3 short golf holes to keep in practice, plus all the grapefruit (pink and white), oranges, and tangerines you want to pick fresh off the trees. You will notice the trains passing next to the resort, but not obnoxious. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We spent two full winters in this park about a decade ago; it was really nice then. Stopped in recently knowing that most of the park had been converted to condos years ago, but curious what it was like now. We specifically asked for a site as far away from the railroad tracks as possible. We arrived late and instead found that we had been located in the section of the park that was closest to the tracks and very noisy. The rest of the park was nearly empty, so we didn't understand this. In addition, our neighbors in this section of the park were clearly long-term-resident working folks, with laundry hanging out, plywood tacked on their RVs, etc. This section of the park looked more like a low-rent park, rather than the luxury RV resort we had experienced in the past. Our next-door neighbor spent most of the evening running power tools and working on his RV; not the most peaceful for us considering the $82 we had paid. Overall, this once lovely RV resort has hit the skids and we will not be returning. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Don't understand most recent review from others. We stayed two weeks plus in late Sept. to early Oct. 2016 and loved it. We have stayed here several times and each time came away very pleased. The pool, showers, grounds etc. all in wonderful condition. Wifi worked well, TV worked well. Excellent RV park and glad to have stayed there. PS. we already have our reservation for 2017. Very nice park. This was our first RV park, as this was our first shakedown trip in our new motorhome. The western part of the park is spacious and nice. The eastern side looks crowded. The noise from the trains at night is very noticeable, and we have an otherwise very quiet Newmar motorhome. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Requested a spot for a 45 MH and a tow to fit in. No problem said the lady that took my reservation. Got here and was put in a spot my rig barely fit and no room for the car. Dealt with it. Sprinklers would hit all over the moterhome and then my truck in the overflow parking area. Complained to the office and they said a guy would contact me. Never did. Same thing with rig next to me. I've stayed here a number of times before and know they water the RV's just like the grass, but was able to resolve. Not this time. They just don't care. Won't likely come back. We stayed in late June when temps were in the 110 range and the park was about 10% full. We were in the desert to visit family, not as a destination vacation this time of year. We were upgraded when we checked in to a back in site with lots of shade and grass. It was beautiful, and gave us some feeling of relief from the heat. Outside noise was not a problem as our A/C's ran 24/7, and trips to the pool were short and few. The bathrooms and gym look like they were just remodeled and are beautiful and clean. Internet was strong and fast. Dog friendly. Easy on/off freeway and close to just about anything you would want to do in the desert. Gate is locked at night and you are given a code so feels very safe. Utilities worked great. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV Park, however a few odds things I didn't understand. First the Very Good: the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I requested a site change after my first night's stay (too close to the trains) and was greeted by a VERY nice professional young lady who did what she could to accommodate my request. Considering it was the start of Memorial Day weekend with a full park, I was impressed with her attitude and personality. Nonetheless, very impressed with the service. The park is very clean and well kept, but the odd things I didn't understand, there were no picnic tables at any of the sites! Odd for a place in the desert where it is conducive to outdoor eating, we camped with friends and had to eat in chairs outside. The other odd thing was that the water sprinklers came on every night at 10 PM! No warning, each night people who were sitting outside enjoying the warm weekend weather went scrambling to secure their belongings when the water came on. What made this very strange was the fact that the water sprinklers came on again each night around 2 AM. Maybe their way of enforcing quiet time. The pool area along with workout room was very nice, great facility. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.
