Not a bad place but it's dusty and dry. The campground was crowded and noisy with weekender inner-tubers for their 'Lazy River' tube experience. The zip line course was awesome. We camped at La Jolla Indian Reservation Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is well off the beaten track so ensure your shopping is done. There is a 'Trading Post' but I didn't stop in so I'm not sure what is in there. You must also realize you are on an Indian Reservation and their rules are stricter than most over camp grounds: no glass bottles, no pallets for firewood, etc. The rules are listed in the confirmation letter.

Level dirt sites with lots of oak trees. Sites are spacious. Trees not trimmed well. Big rigs beware. Many hairpin turns to get into camp. Limited sites for large rigs. Low hanging branches. But if you can get in without damaging your rig, the camp (in off season) is quiet. Very rural. Take whatever you need as stores are far away. GPS is so-so to get you there. We used 2 different ones and both would have taken us wacky routes. (From the 15, take the 76 east and you'll be OK.) Note that campground is on the south side of street, not north as more than one GPS shows. No AT&T service, but Verizon is OK. No Wi-Fi. No amenities. Only one restroom for entire camp and it was less-than-stellar. But there are porta-potties in various locations. Probably would not go again. We camped at La Jolla Indian Reservation Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Not too far from Lake Henshaw and Julian, CA. Julian is charming.

The GOOD: Tubing down the river was the best part. The people working there were friendly. The BAD: Otherwise the place was full of visitors that can be described as "THUGS FOR LIFE." Campsites were overcrowded. People were chopping wood at 11:30 pm outside our window. Blaring Mexican music was a common occurrence. The bathrooms were filthy. Human excrement in the urinals, which were NOT cleaned. The showers were ONLY cold water with NO shower heads, just a stream shooting out of a straight pipe. There were not nearly enough bathrooms for the number of people in the park. Electrical hookups were shady at best. Our breakers kept popping and it was BARELY enough to keep the RV cool. SUMMATION: We had a good time regardless of the conditions. But I doubt we will be back, as there are plenty of other places in southern California that offer better camping conditions. We camped at La Jolla Indian Reservation Campground in a Motorhome.
