We come here to this park once a year for our family reunion. This park has struggled with various owners over the years. However, the current owners have put a lot of money into doing upgrades of this park and it shows. Last year, we had our reunion here right after the new owners took over. The cabins were in disrepair and needed new roofs and the interiors were in horrible shape. Over the off season, they did amazing work on the cabins. They look wonderful inside and out. As someone who has visited this park over the last 10 years, this park has been resurrected to one with great WIFI service, solid Cable TV as well as power pedestals that are brand new. The sites are nice and long and though you will have neighbors, you are not on top of one another. This has become a great park with many great amenities added over the years. However, it does not come without a price. This park is a little spendy at $72 a night (Before discounts), but you will definitely enjoy your stay if you are looking for a rustic environment to stay in. Another bonus is they allow any dogs and their owners who are well behaved! We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Motorhome.

My wife, granddaughter and I spent 3 days at Gold Country (GCC). All 3 had a very good time. We were there during the fires in Yosemite and the smoke was strong all 3 days. The RV section of the park was about 80% full and the tent camping portion 20% full. There were people in cabins as well but I know nothing about that. During our stay there were several things we enjoyed. There was a free craft project on Saturday morning where the kids painted little bird houses to take home. Fun and free. We enjoyed the unheated swimming pool and water park. The water park was much better than I anticipated and my granddaughter loved it. We didn't use the game room but it was available. The camp was very quiet at night. During the day there were lots of kids on bikes and people walking small dogs, all very pleasant. There were a couple of weird things. The showers and bathrooms in the camping area were very clean and nice. The shower at the pool was cold water only and not well maintained. The women's bathroom by the pool had human feces on the floor (in a pile according to my wife). Gross! After staff were notified they sent down a crew to clean. It was surprising to us how poorly the pool bathrooms were since the others were nice. We also were frustrated that the store was not always open at the times on the sign. "We are adjusting due to staffing," they say at the front desk. The RV hook-up we had was new and nice. We didn't try the TV or WiFi. Reception for Verizon was good. The site was mostly level and we used a few plastic blocks only. All in all it is a nice park and we will return again. We visited the park in a 30' motorhome and stayed in a 30' deluxe site which was gravel. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Motorhome.

No signage at check-in as to where to park upon entry. The vehicle entrance/exit is narrow and two-way, and one large motorhome entering and one exiting at the same time would be interesting to see. Booked with 4 days of 'upgraded' WiFi, advertised as an option ($5/day) prominently on the website, the office walls, the office counter and the front page of the paperwork they gave me. When I inquired about the password I was informed there was none..."it is all open" Um, what? All WiFi is free and it is all the new high speed steaming WiFi? Yep, she says! Well, needless to say the 'all open high speed WiFi for streaming multiple devices' was horrible and most times not available at all. I had booked site 35, which is a 'deluxe' 50 amp pull through. The office indicated I should back in. I explained this was a pull through site. She agreed but her notes said that it should be backed into. I decided to drive our car to the site before attempting stupidity in a 36 foot long motorhome. What I was met with was a horribly trashed site, mostly dirt/weeds and stickers, narrow & not level. If I 'pulled through' I would need to negotiate a very steep embankment and make a tight turn onto a 4x4 trail with low branches. But if I had backed in, the utilities would be on the wrong side. There were three (yes 3) very trashed picnic tables blocking the site and NO fire pit as 'deluxe' sites here are supposed to. Utilities located too far forward. Only a handful of sites worth as much $25 a night, much less the $72 they are asking (or $77 if you book online...$5 online booking fee, ya know). Pool, game room and water pad closed earlier than posted every day. I never saw the store open once. Dumpster was overflowing for days. Trash all over the playground and water pad areas. Dogs running freely throughout. No power in restrooms. Very nice area, but don't ruin your vacation by staying at this place. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Motorhome.

Disappointing. Trash all throughout campgrounds. We cleaned up our own site upon arrival, filling a garbage bag about 1/4 full. Uneven sites. Gravel needs to be re-done . Weeds everywhere. Picnic tables in sites are dirty and warped. Pool is great, but tables and bathrooms in pool area were dirty and in disrepair. Game room was the same. Great playground and splash zone though! Mixed review, I know. Just not the value for the price. Seemed to have adequate staff members, just no one focusing on keeping the sites nor the grounds clean. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

They have done a large amount of work on the park. Very clean. Put put golf was fun. The store was not open. We were there in the off season. It would be nice to have the sites graveled. Maybe they are working toward that. I called the day before our stay to see if we could get in early. I received a call back in the AM and was told the spot is free head over early. Pretty darn accommodating. We are planning our next trip for late Spring! We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for a family reunion of about 10 families. Most of the families stayed in cabins or in the lodge, but also one family, ours specifically stayed at an RV spot. The grounds are well maintained and the pedestals provide plenty of water and good quality power as well as Cable TV signal. Be sure to bring your water pressure regulator. The water pressure runs at about 70 PSI according to our gauge. The Cabins need some serious work, but that work is under way. In fact, they were all ready to start work on replacing the roofs and floor coverings of the cabins as soon as our group pulled out. The park is under new ownership, and they are working hard to get this park back into a high quality RV park. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed Thursday thru Sunday in late April. Arrived after the office was closed but our information was there for us. Checked in the next morning. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Place was clean which is important to both of us. The park is under new ownership and it seems that they are working on quite a few improvements. Overall we loved it and will probably be back. This is our third stay here. We like this campground quite a bit. It has many amenities for families during the summer (water park, mini golf, swimming pool, arcade). These things are closed during the off season when we come (rates are lower then as well) so I cannot comment on them. This is a campground with many tent sites, and two RV loops. The resort in the name comes from the amenities, a motel building, and some cabins. When we have been here (May and Sept) the place is quiet with maybe one or two tents and a dozen RVs (not counting the "extended stay" folk in the lower RV loop). As with most RV places with "extended stay" residents the WiFi bogs down to just about useless in late afternoon and into the evening. The sites in the upper (transients) loop are arranged in a long line across the top of a low hill, a mixture of pull throughs and back ins on both sides of the road. Access is pretty good with a few very large sites that will fit just about anything down to smallish backins with ok clearances. I would not call this campground "big rig friendly", but, I have seen some pretty big units squeeze into the long sites. There are lots of trees with most sites having shade at least part of the day, some pretty much all day. Bathrooms are not plush, but, functional, well maintained, and kept clean. There are plenty of restaurants, small town shops, and an nice market in the town of Pine Grove all within a couple of miles. We will be staying here again. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Family campground with lots of things for kids. Swimming pool, water park, arcade, mini-golf, playground, movie night, pool table, and a hiking trail. We had a pull-thru site, level, gravel, with a picnic table and fire pit. WiFi was slow and worked best closer to the Office. Cable TV. Biggest problem was the sewer connection was 8" off the ground, so had to lift the hose to dump. Quiet at night. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Our site was nice and wide, as are most of the sites, and required only a couple Lynx blocks to level. The sites are definitely more rustic, but that's a positive. We like having the feeling of real camping while still being able to run our A/C and take warm showers in the RV. The sewer hookup in the site is beyond bizarre. They are raised considerably higher than the sewer connector on the RV.

The staff is very friendly. The biggest problem we had was that the power kept cutting out. They do not have the power capacity for the number of sites they have. That meant not being able to run the A/C during the 100 degree day.

This might not be a problem, except we're paying for that power in our nightly rate and they really nickel-and-dime you in other ways. For example, my father-in-law (who lives 10 minutes from the campground) came and visited us for an hour. He had to pay $5 for parking. If we would've had 4 people staying, he would've had to pay an additional $5 to get into the park. I realize there are probably people who take advantage of liberal policies on visits, but charging family members $5 for a 1-hour visit is beyond ridiculous.

On top of that, we had a very noisy neighbor. They ran their stereo at very high volumes, had a dog that barked constantly and the staff did nothing about it.

The staff does not wear any type of uniform, so you have no idea who works there and who doesn't. That's really convenient for the staff, but inconvenient for paying campers who might need help from the staff in one way or another. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We went to this park to use as a shake down cruise for our used motorhome we just purchased. Because of the inclement weather we were one of few at the park. Looks like a great place for kids to enjoy with a wide variety of facilities. They are currently thinning out the trees, but looks like there will be little impact. Has a small dog park, splash park, miniature golf. Billiards room was being remodeled so did not get to see its current condition. The pad sites are gravel and because of the extreme amount rain, we can attest to the great drainage of the sites. We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Motorhome.

We met another couple here because we could not get into another park nearby. It was a happy surprise. The staff was very helpful. This park is more of a true "camping" park with lots of trees, fire pits and tenters. There are a lot of activities that would keep a family occupied. However, it is an older park and the sites, while level, can be tricky for the larger rigs. Our 40 ft 5th wheel had some difficulty turning into our site. The water pressure is very low and both the wifi and Verizon were spotty, but when the surroundings are so beautiful who cares? We camped at Gold Country Campground Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a fun park for kids. They had putt putt golf, albeit a bit tired, but still fun for the little ones. The water park was fabulous with lots of equipment spouting, pouring, and spraying water. The campgrounds were good, with lots of trees. We reserved a 50 amp site, but when we arrived they didn't have any left. Easy access to and from the main road made it easy to navigate our trailer.
