Best location! Right next to LAX! Beachfront! 50 amp full hookup. Multimillion dollar view and access to beach. Level site. If you call you will see they actually have 5 45ft. sites, although they don't seem longer than the other ones in person. Our 43ft. coach barely barely fits in a 45ft. site but I could see how we could have squeezed in another 2 feet maybe:-) The back row is actually the best during winter because you have no one behind you except for extra parking spaces:-) They pile a high sand berm during winter that can only be looked over by the tiered back row too:-) Traffic is terrible, it took us 4.5 hours to get out of Los Angeles towards Vegas. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Barbq grill at every site. You can have your dogs swim on the beach before sunrise, before anyone else is on the beach, 5:45AM. El Segundo Main Street has many charming restaurants. Costco & Petco 20 minutes away. T-Mobile service 2 bars.

Great place to stay if in the L.A. area. We were visiting our son and his family in Santa Monica, which was only a 20 minute drive away. This RV park is literally right on the beach at the Pacific Ocean. Because of its great location it is extremely popular so reservations are a must. You can only make reservations 90 days or less before arrival, so I recommend if possible calling in exactly 90 days ahead. The sites are level, and if possible, I suggest asking for the front row which is right on the beach itself. Sites are VERY close together. My neighbor, when backing in, asked politely if I could roll in my awning a bit since he did not think he could open his slide out without hitting my awning. Very child friendly place, and pet friendly as well with two dog areas (small but adequate for dogs to do their business). Very helpful and friendly staff at the office. If you expect visitors, you need to get a guest parking pass, which they only provide in very limited numbers so you need to go to the office first thing the morning of the visit and buy a pass ($7). The park tended to be a bit noisy with virtually every site filled and many playing music all day long. This park is right next to the airport, so you do hear planes taking off all day and night, but with the a/c running in the RV, this was not a problem. But this RV park is a real find and I would absolutely come back here if visiting L.A. in the future. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The view of the Pacific ocean is awesome. Beautiful sunsets on the water. The park itself is well maintained, with no frills. Parking our tow was a challenge on Fri and Sat but available along the back row against the wall. There are two fenced dog parks that is all sand. Neighbors are close and folks honored quiet times. Rules such as no bicycle riding in the park is not enforced. Also many walkers and bicycle folks from the outside wander in during the day. At night security is there to ensure nothing gets out of control. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch out for extra daily charge for a pet. Also, there are many speed bumps on the internal roads so be aware. As for outside the park, Rock and Brew in El Segundo is a nice casual place to eat and enjoy music.

Never again! Pay attention to the other reviews here. We knew what we were getting into staying at Dockweiler - right beneath LAX airport, packed in like sardines, but also right on the beach. When they say packed in like sardines, they mean it! Your picnic table is UNDERNEATH your neighbors slide outs if they have them. What we did not count on was the noise, not from airplanes, but from constant drinking and partying within the park and on the adjacent beach. The adjacent beach has fire rings, which have been removed from most SoCal beaches in recent years because they attract huge groups of partying underage drinkers, drug use etc. But Dockweiler still has them so now all that activity is concentrated there. It was a nightmare. Fine during the day and could enjoy the beach, but come dinner time the beach will be overrun with over and under age drinking, drug use, parties and noise so loud that I literally had to yell in my daughters ear when she was sitting right next to me in the park. We told Park Security and they did NOTHING! We called LAPD, but they never showed. In chatting with other folks at Dockweiler who stay there on a regular basis, LAPD is called often because of this kind of madness. We will never stay again. If I hadn't needed to be on that side of L.A. for several days for medical treatment, we would have stayed in Long Beach. There are not many options in LA for RV parks unfortunately. If you can avoid Dockweiler, do so!!!!! We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground has both pros and cons. The pros are that the sites are literally steps away from the beach, even if the site is in the back rows of the campground. The beach is beautiful with pre-installed concrete fire pits. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park seems to be maintained regularly. Although we did not use the public restrooms, they also had outdoor showers available for after coming from the beach. They were in good working order. The weather seems to be consistently mild, even during the middle of summertime. Hookups seemed to work fine at the site. The cons are that the campsite spaces are EXTREMELY close together. As this is a popular spot, there are people all over the place, packed in like sardines. It is nothing more than a large parking lot with hookups. It was so bad that we could not use one side of our assigned picnic table (which are concreted into the ground and not able to move) because the slide of the trailer next to us was covering it. It is difficult to navigate in the back row of the park due to the tight spots and vehicles all over the place. The sites seem to be random in terms of level. Some of the concrete is cracked, bubbled, or buckled, causing inconsistency in the pads. No cable connection. The worst part about this park is that it is right next to LAX Airport, which means there are airplanes taking off every 5 minutes all day and night and it is very loud. This is NOT an exaggeration! It wasn't as much of a distraction during the day, but difficult to get a full night's sleep at night. All of this said, the beach is so beautiful and the park is so close to major LA destinations that I would recommend staying here at least once for the experience. Campers will need to judge for themselves if they can put up with the loud noise and close campsites. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

You need to know what you're getting with this park. First, LAX is directly behind this park, so every 90 seconds, you will hear the loud roar of a jet engine that will be VERY hard to ignore. I was able to sleep at night but I found it pretty annoying after a few days. It's basically just a parking lot with hookups but it's directly on the beach. The service is awful because the staff is run by the government and they clearly do not care about anything other than collecting money and otherwise doing as little else as possible. There isn't really anything around in the area other than the beach. The beach has fire pits everywhere so that's pretty cool (bring wood!). You'll have to drive to Venice Beach or Manhattan Beach or further to find any decent restaurants or bars. Parking isn't particularly great as you have to parallel park on the side of the road by your rig if it's of any length and it fills up at night. If you're coming for the beach and nothing else, this isn't a bad spot. Bonus points if your hearing doesn't work all that well! We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have to begin with the airplane noise. Holy cow!!!!! The incessant, round-the-clock take-offs from LAX will rattle the fillings out of your teeth!!!! This alone is a good enough reason to skip this place, which is essentially only a sandy asphalt parking lot with line painted on it. You won't see the ocean from your site because the idiots at LA County have dozed a fifteen foot sand berm between the shore and the campground to assure that. The showers are on the cold side of luke-warm and they emit water in needle-like jets that are painful to your skin. Annoying, bright lights are on all pedestals and illuminate your sleeping are even with blinds closed. Security is an issue and homeless people sleep by the bathroom at the bike trail, which has no barrier to the campground. Noisy, inconsiderate weekend partiers come in and take over the place with no consequences although they have all-night "security" in place. Campers pulling towable clutter the roads with their trucks and make the place look like a car lot. We couldn't wait to get out of this place. Hated it! We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 21 nights in the back row. We paid $55/night plus a one-time $10 reservation fee. There is no tax. Hook-ups worked well. Did not use the restrooms/showers so can't comment on that. There is wifi but, we were told, you have to be very close (maybe within 3 sites) to the office in order to get it. Verizon cell and Verizon Mifi signals were terrible. Open sky for good satellite signal. This is not our first time in this park so we knew what we were getting into. It's a love/hate situation. We love the location - close to the beach, bike path and family in South Bay. We hate the location - extremely tight sites, extremely loud planes and extremely fragrant sewer plant. This stay we had the added excitement of having a neighbor clip our motorhome along with ensuing drama (he wouldn't give us his name and his rig didn't have a license plate - you get the gist). There aren't many choices if you want to stay in Los Angeles. Buyer beware. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The back row of the CG is slightly elevated and the least expensive. In the winter when the sand berm is up, the back row might have the best view while offering the best price.

We stayed 1 night. Our original space 66 said it would fit a 40 ft motorhome but it didn't. Although we had a bike rack on the back and we couldn't fit within the perimeters allowed. We didn't have a tow vehicle this trip but I doubt our Ford F-150 would fit. We moved over to 64, fit perfect. Employees are very nice and friendly. It's been a long time since staying in a park that allows tents, and trailers. Different clientele. Public bathroom, public parking, outdoor showers and a dog park. We heard loud generators during the night. It would be a great family trip. I will stay again. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

October 1-2: Easy access from I-105. (Freeway ends and there is the park) No problems checking in. Full hookups with picnic table and grill. Sewer and water setup on right top of each other. Right on the Pacific Ocean beach. Park is located at the end of LAX airport runway with every jet takeoff a memorable moment. I hold the firm conviction that anyone who has stayed here will never complain about train whistles or road noise at a campground again. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is one of our favorite places. We've been here numerous times. Clean park, easy to get to and a very quiet beach. We just hear the ocean and don't even notice the planes flying overhead. Nice fire pits on the beach. Great bike path to get from Santa Monica Pier down to Rodando Beach. Only downside is that if you arrive before 1pm and your site is available they charge an extra $17 (even if only 45 minutes early). Still love this place regardless. We stayed here 3 nights as part of a week long vacation. We have stayed here before and have always enjoyed this camp. Easy bike ride to neighboring beach towns and areas. Also, close for a car visit to other areas. This park also shares some public beach restrooms, so some are not so nice. There is a combination entry for 2 restroom buildings that are a step nicer. Only negative here is the airplane noise. You are camping directly under the LAX airport takeoff zone. Only other negative was a neighbor camper feeding pigeons on the road along the campsites. We will do a return visit here. Camping along the sand of the beach is a huge plus for our family. Fire rings on beach allow wood fires (both a positive and a negative feature). We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 4 nights over the Memorial Day weekend after traversing the country from Orlando. Love this park. It is right on the beach. The Strand runs right in front of the park. Manhattan Beach Pier is 3 miles down the Strand while Hermosa Beach Pier is only a couple of miles further. Marina Del Rey is the other direction. Perfect location, but very hard to get a reservation. The park itself is a long asphalt slab lined out for RVs with full hookups between. No grass, no trees, no gravel, no mud. This is right on the beach, lots of sand. Toilets and showers on either end of the park with public beach showers and toilets in the middle. Common use fire pits on the beach. Completely packed when we were there with folks from all over the world and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

You can't beat this RV park for location. It's on the beach, and a short drive to a ton of bars and restaurants. It's also driving distance to any of the usual LA attractions. Yes, the sites are small (it's basically a parking lot for RVs). But it's SoCal, so space is at a premium. And the price, while higher for an RV park ($65-70/night), is reasonable when considering that hotels in the area could easily cost 2-3x that amount. Also, wrap your mind around the fact that it's near the airport so you'll hear planes. Some noise should be expected since you're essentially staying in a city. There are full hookups, showers, and bathrooms (note: the ones on each end have an access code and are far nicer than the middle ones). Each site has a picnic table and charcoal grill. There's also a biking/walking/running path along the ocean. Book early. This place fills up quickly. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here while visiting family in Los Angeles. This place is a great value for the location. Close to freeway (105/405) which makes getting to other points of interest easy (notwithstanding LA's horrible traffic). We have family in Santa Monica and getting there on side roads was easy. For the money (all RV parks in California are spendy relative to other states) hard to see how this place could be beat.

The good: Level paved access and parking, gate guarded, night-time security, directly on the beach, beautiful sunsets, bike path. The bad: LAX. RV park is directly under the departure vector and it is NOISY. About only quiet period is 1:30 - 4:40 AM. So bring your ear plugs. Parking for TOAD was not available next to coach, but not bad as we could park it less than 50 yards away. Other reviews mention odor from treatment plant across Playa Vista road. We did not experience anything. Note that the spots for motor homes are pull in as opposed to back in, but parking was easy enough and hook-ups easy. This park does get crowded on weekends. But during weekdays about 2/3 full and pleasant.

Staff was pleasant, and helpful. Office is open 8am - 8pm. Several restaurants deliver to park! Overall, we were very pleased with our stay here. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.
