Sites and road are asphalt with grass between the sites. Lots of big trees and the limbs could use trimming. The hook-ups are at the back of the site and took two hose to reach the sewer. The ducks are a nuisance and dirty. This is an older park that could use a face lift, it could be 10 if done right. The roads are narrow with very tight turns. But overall it is a pleasant stay. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This Park is showing it's age. With all the rain this year including Easter weekend, things are pretty messy. Several campsites completely underwater. Sun R V Resorts has purchased this park and hopefully will make necessary improvements to restore this park back to where it should be. It is still a fun place to be with lots to do very closeby. We already have reservations for Labor Day. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on a recommendation from friends who used to RV. We booked it for 4 days. Regretted our choice after the first day. The ground was very moist from recent rains and the site was very uneven and not clean. For the cost of it sure wasn't worth it. Ducks and duck poop everywhere! Very tight spaces. Would not return unless things have changed. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Old park, narrow access and in need of upgrades. Park office/management personnel were unprofessional, rude and obnoxious, with the exception of one gentleman. Overpriced for weeded, unevenly paved sites with tons of ducks and poop. Have stayed here numerous times in the past, but will not return again, the management'attitude is not customer friendly or accommodating. Spaces are so tight that we had to move our tow vehicles three times so other rigs could have room to back into their sites. Watched one motor home scrape it's top on un-trimmed branches. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our go-to park for Amador County wine tasting. The park is tree-lined and well-maintained. Some sites are a little tough to get into due to the trees, but it's worth the effort. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Wine tasting! Amador has quite a number of great and undervalued wineries. Taste restaurant is awesome. As is oicking up a sandwich at the Vintage Market and enjoying it later in a winery's picnic area.

The 49er card is worth the fee as it pays for itself with a free night within a week of your birthday and you get free night after so many visits. The County Fairgrounds are right next door and they typically open up a private gate from the park so that you can go to the events without driving.

Stayed three nights. This is one of the nicest, cleanest parks that we've stayed at in our 2-years of RVing. The roads and sites are paved, though the roads are a bit narrow. The only drawback is the sites are perpendicular to the roads. I would prefer an angle to make it easier for backing in.

There is a great little coffee shop/ice-cream parlor by the office with gifts, and RV accessories. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Plenty to do in the area: wineries, art galleries, gift shops and restaurants. Not far from Jackson Rancheria Casino.

This is an older park, (40 years) and very large. RV spaces are good but access can be a problem for bigger rigs as the road is narrow and lots of tow vehicles parked along it. Owners need to start putting some of the money back into park. It is very popular as near foothills and wineries.

There is cafe and ice cream. Saw lots of the kids with ice cream in the cold weather. It was raining so lots of mud everywhere, not the parks fault.

Also they do not seem to enforce the 10 pm quiet time as a group was partying until at least 12:30 or so.(And this was not New Years night.) We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Check-in was quick ... maybe too quick. They had the package ready, handed it to you, and sent you on your way. No additional information provided. The roads are somewhat narrow, and there are lots of hanging trees. You play dodge ball to get to your site! We and our friends had premium plus sites which are presumably big rig friendly. As our friends were backing into their site they hit a heavy, low hanging branch causing significant roof damage. The RV park took no responsibility. It is irresponsible to represent a site as big rig friendly, pay extra for that site and have obstacles to deal with. Our site was long and wide enough but it was challenging parking due to trash bins and lightposts. The tow vehicle would only fit sideways. The sites do have nice concrete pads but the sites are pretty close together. The WII FI didn't work - seriously for the money you pay this is expected to work. Lots of ducks and duck poop and constant noise from highway 49 (we were right by it though). The main advantage of this park is that you are right in wine country. Other than that, we would pass this one by. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have gone to the 49er for Halloween for 8 yrs. No more, they pack the park to the gills 3 weekends in a row and it is like the Wild West. They do not in force any rules, kids in the pool area without adults, loose dogs(our small dog was attacked by a boxer while on a leash) music full blast until 2 in the morning. The camp ground workers ride around on golf carts but never enforce rules. And they let an unsafe amount of people in from the town to join in on the trick or treating and they run up and try to grab all of your candy. If they close the gates these people jump over the fences and flood the park. We switched weekends this year to see if it was better but it wasn,t, we left 3 days into our 7 day trip because it was so out of control. If you pack a small area with people you should have 24 hour security enforcing the rules. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Backing into our site was a little difficult because of transformer and street light next to road. Otherwise maneuvering was OK for big rig. Most of the asphalt sites are back in. Shade trees covered the park, and they were trimmed. We stayed for a week, and we arrived at the beginning of the week. The park became almost full over the week end with families. It had a lot of cable channels including Comcast Sports Net for watching regional major league teams. Tengointernet wi fi was OK. We will be back. The park is showing its age. They need to invest in upkeep. It was clean but not as well cared for as it could've been. Their pond was very grungy, as was the amphitheater. The tables had seen better days. Most - but not all- of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed with a group. The facilities for a group function are adequate. The park itself needs attention. This park was designed for 1960's era Travel Trailers. The roads are narrow, the trees are not trimmed, and the utility hook-ups are dilapidated. Not many of our rigs were able to lock on to a satellite signal. Too many children on skate boards and bikes unsupervised. Sooner or later there will be a serious accident here. Parking of tow vehicles is difficult with such small RV spots. Management is quick to ticket folks who may have a wheel on their cultured weeds. We will not return. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here once before, the park is definitely a group camping destination. Lots of duck poop everywhere. Sites are close. Roads are paved. It is a bit pricey. We did not use the showers or restrooms. They do have an indoor outdoor pool. We had no issues and would return again. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
