Park overall was very quiet. We stayed in the Western campground. Our site was on a very steep decline towards the water which required us to lower the tongue jack to the maximum and it was still not quite level. Also difficult to back into because the spot was narrow and with concrete curb pieces on each site. Most of the sites near the water are like this. These sites in the Western campground are best for those that need close access to the water to launch a kayak. Otherwise, there are other sites in the Eastern campground that are more level. - M_i_k_e_y

It's easy getting in and out with good paved roads. This is dry camping with water available, but not in each camp site. It is NOT an RV Park. It is a nice camp ground. There is a table and fire ring. No electric hookups. What we liked: camp sites are large and nicely spaced such that we didn't feel crowded. It was quiet at night. The place was clean. There is water in the lake. Needs Improvement: Sites have fairly level tent areas. However, RVs will take some work to get level. Be careful of the large rocks and curbs. We'll be back. - Lamplighter

We love COE, FS, BLM campgrounds, not just because we can get the "old peoples discount" but because they are usually quiet, sites are roomy and they are protected natural parks. This campground though should have a sign at the entrance that says "rigs over 35' BEWARE". The roads are VERY tight with lots of sharp curves and lots of trees. We pulled into Site #1 because it was the longest and most level. #3 could also have been OK. Those 2 sites are just inside the entrance gate so you don't have to drive the other loops. Anyone that drives a large motorhome knows how difficult it is to get level and almost ALL the sites here have a flaw. We are not really picky people even though this review may sound like it but I just want people with large rigs to be forewarned. After all that, we really liked this park. We may not have had any cell service or Internet or TV but we took lots of beautiful walk through the park and along the trails. It has 2 dump stations with easy access and water stations throughout. - rhianna
Apr 2015 - $8.00
Although we did not spend the night here we did spend the day walking around it. It is COE, most sites are open (not shaded) and a lot of them can hold large RVs and are very spacious. Not all are level by any means but some are, like site 18. There is no cell reception and only vault toilets. It does have an easily accessible dump station. - rhianna
Feb 2018 - $50.00
$50 per night, plus a $11 reservation fee, plus $6.25 fishing permit per day per person. Level. asphalt sites, full hookups, picnic table and fire pit. Plenty of space between sites, some with shade. No showers or restrooms in the Monument campground. Antenna TV picked up lot of channels; no Wi-Fi here, nearest is at Starbucks in Valley Springs. Quiet at night. Marina gives a 50% discount for seniors on rental boats. - zigzag
Aug 2016 - $40.00
Always a good time camping here. Sites are good size. Nice beach on a small bay for swimming (no wake zone). Nice Trout pond with small dock for row boats only. - warrior
Jul 2016 - $54.00
We have stayed here every year for several years and always enjoy it. The service is good although you should expect delays at check-in if arriving on a Friday. The sites back up to the Trout Pond. True to its name, this is a fishing pond only--no motors, no swimming, not even for dogs. All of these are accommodated at the main lake which, in this year of higher water, is just a short walk away. Even if you don't fish, the pond is beautiful and peaceful, especially early in the morning and late evening. - 3peaks
Mar 2014 - $50.00
We have stayed here before. We come here with friends witch always makes for a good time. The park is very nice good level sites and if you can get a spot by the pond that's the best. One thing we don't like is paying for our pets. We always pick up after our dogs so Why?. - billspt
Feb 2013 - $48.00
An easy drive from the Sacramento area for a quick get-away. I have been coming here since I was a kid. The individual experiences have literally ranged from exceptional to downright miserable; depending on how you camp. Overally, Camanche does not have a lot of shade, even though you can find a few spots that have trees with great canopy. Even though the sites do have full hookups, the sites are primitive and can be slightly un-level. However, not nearly enough to be discouraging. The lake is nice; however, the level has consistently been lowering over the years. - Urbanthesis
Apr 2012 - $50.00
I stayed in the "South Shore" Monument RV section next to the Trout Pond at Lake Camanche. Destination campground, level asphalt sites, roomy and wide, a few with shade. Campground was clean with recycle bins. Sites had full-hookups, fire pits, and picnic tables. Pricey at $50 per night with no discounts; they charge an additional $9 reservation fee per site. Bring your own fire wood as it was $9 a bundle; marina store has a very limited supply of groceries. RV needs to be fully contained as there are no showers or restrooms in the Monument RV section. Showers and restrooms near the beach area were clean but old. No Wi-Fi internet in the campground; nearest WiFi is at the Starbucks in Valley Springs. We were able to get ten channels on our antenna TV. They charge a $4 per person, per day, fishing fee; purchase these as you enter at the Main Gate. - zigzag

Miners Camp is 1 of 2 full hookups RV sites in Comanche Lake resort. We came in on Sunday of Memorial day weekend and had to book a minimum of 3 days. We made reservations over the phone and paid for the 3 days over the phone. When we arrived the attendant at the gate informed us we owed 30 dollars and I said no that we had prepaid. He said yes but there is a $5 a day charge for a dog and I had 2 small dogs. The employees at the gate entrance were friendly and courteous. The interior roads are paved and the sites seemed spacious enough and are paved about 15 feet in from the road and the rest is weeds. We were kind of in disbelieve from this point on. We had campsite 18 and literally had weeds waist high that were all over our site. All the short term campsites from 4 to 20 were vacant with waist high weeds. The electrical panel had thick cobwebs and black widow eggs with a live widow in it. The sewer hookup was elevated about 18 inches above ground which makes for some interesting drainage. The water was heavily chlorinated and smelled much like a swimming pool. There is no Wi-Fi or cell service . A very nice gentleman staying long term across the street I think felt sorry for us and had offered to let me use his lawn mower. Our little dachshunds did not like the tall weeds and we were concerned of fox tails going up their noses. We did not use our 3rd paid day; my wife's hay fever was acting up big time. A little maintenance would have gone a long way. The front office did offer to comp us one day. Needless to say I will not be back. - wolfman76
May 2008 - $30.00
We stayed here three nights in a travel trailer. The description of the campground sounded nice, but when we arrived we should have turned around and left before registering. However, decided to stay since we were there and were sorry we did. Old campground with lots of permanent residents in the RV section, no restrooms or showers near the RV section, the lake level was so low we could not launch our kayaks, RV section was located away from the other camping area. Would not recommend this to anyone. - bobnrobin
Sep 2007 - $48.00
We stayed here on Labor Day weekend 2007 because it looked good in pictures and wasn't too far to drive. However, the majority of the RV campers were residents and were not on the friendly side. The kids got yelled at for riding their bikes around the camp too "noisily". The water in the swimming pond was scary and there was broken glass in the sand surrounding it. The playground was older than me! The only good thing is that the office staff was very helpful and nice. Regardless, we left first thing Saturday morning to go stay at another RV park. We will not stay here again unless the locals (aka: residents) change. - grtmomx3
Jun 2018 - $38.00
This is a nice park due to all of the trees and the lake. The sites are spacious with lots of shade from the oak trees. We were in a FHU site which required a block under one tire which was no problem. We brought kayaks and had fun on the lake. The staff is great and very accommodating. - Hitch2go
Apr 2018 - $38.00
A new management company is operating the Park. All is good. Reservations can now be made on their website - great improvement. Antenna TV received 20-channels. No WiFi unless near the office and there is a fee. We were in the full-hookup RV section: twelve asphalt sites that need leveling, picnic table, fire pit, and shade trees. Marina is well stocked; staff was friendly; good senior boat rentals. - zigzag
Sep 2016 - $36.00
The construction is completed, and it is now quiet both day and night. 12-full hookup sites, with a reservation fee of $10. The showers and restrooms are now operational. No TV, and WiFi ($) reception was only at the Office. Fishing is the primary activity. No body-to-water contact is allowed on the lake. They have a swimming pool, which is only open in the summer months. Nice Marina with fishing supplies and the office sells firewood. Good discount for senior boat rental. - zigzag
May 2017 - $44.00
This review is written as a member of a group of 14 rigs staying 3 nights at this RV park. The kitchen and club room facilities are excellent. The "group loop" is exclusive to the group. 50 amp was not available at our site as well as lack of sewer. Satellite coverage is obtainable in some spots. The dump station is near the park entrance and easily accessible. A lot of previous negative comments on this site are either non-existent or corrected. I would recommend this park to any group of 16 or less. - WindsorDave
May 2016 - $20.00
Condition of the Park ranges from good to bad. Some of the trailers look like they are falling apart and need to be towed away while others are brand new. The bathroom and showers work but the water is luke warm at best and the pressure is terrible. Extremely slippery floors. Roads are in good condition, but with aggressive speed bumps all over the place. They weed whack fairly often so the weeds stay down.
Manager and Owner not pleasant or understanding. Made me feel inferior. Park has Loud Bass Booming Music, Loud Cars with Exhaust, Highway right next to it, and kids you don't know who get into your stuff and ask for stuff. Don't go here. - CornDog1982
Oct 2011 - $30.00
This is a pleasant park. The manager is very friendly and accommodating. Lots of long term residents but lots are kept clean and tidy. Surprised at the trees and shade. Pool is beautiful. Restrooms and showers are extremely clean. Keys are given out to the over nighters. The only complaint is some lots are parked next to three big propane dispensers. Kind of unnerving. - Snooker2
Jul 2018 - $25.00
Dry RV camping only.

Park was clean, staff friendly.
Lots to explore just at the camp grounds.
Views are amazing. - Dedecd
Oct 2018 - $42.00
One of the best parks that I have been to. Site spacing is great for a commercial park; all level cement pads; full hookups plus cable; plenty of room to disconnect and park next to your trailer. All roads are paved. The park is spotlessly clean. The setting is beautiful. There are two in-ground hot tubs and a large in-ground and well-heated pool. There is a walking path around the entire campground. There is a 24 hour shuttle to take you to the casino. There's even free coffee, tea, and popcorn any time that the office is open. Oh, and the WiFi really works here! I did a speed test and got 43Mbps and not at 3am in the morning, either. For groups, they have a large clubhouse that can be reserved. - WineStream
Aug 2018 - $48.00
We stay here for one night. Perfect RV Park in all regards. Excellent customer service and staff. Excellent sites, every one. All level concrete pads with lush green grass on each side of the w-i-d-e sites. This place is part of a giant casino complex that includes restaurants, a hotel, golf, and many other amenities. Free shuttles cruise the RV park, and stop at your site if you are waiting to be picked up. They come by about every 20 minutes, and will take you whatever destination you'd like on the property. Wifi was excellent. Our satellite worked perfectly. I'm giving this place a 10, but 2 negatives (for me..probably not others). One, they force you to walk through the casino to get to the buffet restaurant. Two, once you get there, the food is only so-so. Lots of pizazz in the facility and how it "looks", but average cafeteria food. - therealSimpsons
Aug 2018 - $48.00
We enjoy this park, sites are level, spaced so you have some room on both sides and the back ins provide a view out if you have windows in the rear of your RV. Staff has always been more then helpful from providing local information to helping you extend your stay. The negative issue I have with the park is the nonrefundable $25.00 they charge. This is a busy park and you have to reserve well in advance especially if you want a Friday or Saturday night. Things happen, and to be charged for canceling your reservation with a few days notice or a months notice is not right, but it is a popular park and it must not be effecting their bottom line. We had to cancel a 4 night stay and gave them a weeks notice, too bad, so sad as it is all up front and explained when you reserve a night. This park is almost always full every time we have been there so cancelations must not create a loss of income to warrant a $25.00 penalty because you cancel well in advance of your reserved date. We will not be making reservations so far advanced in the future, if we can not get in there are other nice parks in the area. - 10-10
