This was such a nice experience. The RV park is small, with wide sites and grass between sites. You check in at the gift shop and choose your own site. We were able to get WiFi and satellite TV but no AT&T cell service. Dog enjoyed walking around the park but no walks directly from there. This was great for one night but need a toad if you want to do anything outside of staying at the RV park. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

A newer park. A clearing in the redwoods. Sites are decent size pull thrus with plastic table and fire ring. No cable. Wifi was decent but I was told it gets a bit slow when the park is full in the summer. We enjoyed the park and the location and ease of entry/exit are great. I would definitely return if traveling through this area again. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nestled in the redwood forests, this is the quietest park we have ever stayed in. The RV park is acutally on the Avenue of the Giants. The spaces are large and easy to navigate. The owner is on-site and is superhelpful (and he has a tremendous gift shop; his family has owned the site for over 50 years). Small grocery stores within few miles; biggest town is Fortuna, about 20 minutes away. The major redwood attractions are within 10 to 20 minutes from the park, including the Giant Redwood tree (biggest tree in the world). Highly recommend this RV Park! We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed in a 43' motorhome to visit the Redwoods. Park is easy to find from Hwy 101. Check in is in the gift shop and was fast and efficient. Staff was very friendly and helpful about area attractions. No assigned sites. You have to find your own. Park has an easy layout so it is easy to find a site. No dog park but ample space to walk your dog on grass. You are among the Redwoods. No cable. we used our satellite. Location is in the middle of the Ave of the Giants making it easy to visit the Redwoods. Other than the forest there is nothing else going on here. Make sure you visit the NPS visitors center for a good idea of the trails. If visiting the Redwoods we would stay here again. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

I cannot add much to the previous good reviews and details except coming from the north, get off at exit 674 and drive south on the Redwoods drive until you come to Immortal Tree gift shop which is the campground entrance. The woods are dark and we almost missed it. Signage from south 101 is better. The people in the gift shop are most friendly and helpful. Only one toilet per gender and two showers, could use more toilets in my opinion. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park on the Avenue of the Giants. We chose this park because a previous reviewer mentioned it wasn't actually in the trees and we wanted our satellite tv. Very clean. Sites are close but the pull-through was long and paved. Decent internet. No cell reception without a booster but they do have a repeater in the park where you can sit under a cover and connect. Grass was dead and doesn't appear to be watered in the summer, so if you have a dog expect to brush them a lot. No picnic table but a plastic table is provided so bring your chairs. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a small, well maintained campground, not a resort. It is at a beautiful location on the Avenue of the Giants, and is operated by the owners of the Immortal Tree Gift Shop. All sites are pull through, level, in the sun with grass, and are adequately wide. Each site is a different length, and you can choose from any of the vacant spots. Our AT&T cell phone signal was adequate at the campground. We used their TV cable to access local stations along with our DISH satellite for our cable stations. Electric, water and sewer connections were reasonably positioned. Water pressure was adequate but not excessive. We did not have any electrical issues. Most campers were truly campers and not long term residents. We enjoyed having evening fires and picked a few quarts of blackberries. There is no nighttime security, but we didn't feel we needed it. Bathrooms, showers and laundry room were basic, secure and cleaned well daily. Owners are pleasant and take pride in their ownership. We stayed four days and would be happy to return. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a small, rural grocery store about 11 miles north. Not a huge chain store, but their meats, dairy and healthy vegetables were moderately priced while snack foods were pretty pricey. The drive and groves along The Avenue of the Giants were stunning.

It is a great location right on Avenue of the Giants and to all the surrounding parks and trails. I was disappointed with the campground as I was expecting the campsites to be nestled in trees. The park is only 8 years old and there was either a clearing here or they entirely cleared the property for the campground. The sites are long, level, asphalt, with plenty of grass on each side of the sites, there is one tree at each site that was probably planted when the campground was completed. No shade to speak of, however the campground perimeter is surrounded with trees. There are only 1 women's and 1 men's toilet and 1 shower each. There are approx. 50 sites in the park and in my opinion the number of toilets and showers could become an issue. It wasn't when we were there as the park was probably 1/3 full. The bathrooms are immaculate as in the laundry room, washing $2., dryer $1. In fact, the whole park is immaculate. Good WiFi, no cable, poor to none cell service, but there is a cell hot spot in the campground with tables and chairs when making calls using Verizon. There is a beautiful gift shop and camp store with many of the necessities. The staff was very friendly and informative. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our second stay here. A great park for relaxing and exploring the beautiful redwoods. The park is well kept and the owners are great, very friendly and helpful. The sites are all paved, large and level with grassy areas between. Mostly pull-through sites will accommodate the largest rigs and no problems with slide-outs. Laundry and showers all great. A small store with fun wood carvings and souvenirs. While there is no cell service, the Wi-Fi is the best we have encountered on our latest 6 week trip, and with AT&T at least, we were able to connect to our cell via the Wi-Fi with perfect reception. I believe other carriers offer this, and there is no data usage while using it. We highly recommend this park and will definitely make this our go to park for this area of California. (My only suggestion would be better picnic tables.) We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Front desk folks are extremely friendly. Great little store with nice souvenirs. There is no natural or back up lighting in the restrooms or showers. This became an issue when we lost power due to a thunder storm. We were only without power for a few hours. The sites are a good size with pull thrus down the middle. There are grass sections between sites. The park itself does not have trees but since you are surrounded by redwoods it is very scenic. It is located on a section of the Avenue of the Redwoods that is accessible to big rigs so we could park, leave the 5th wheel & explore the area with the pickup. Beautiful, beautiful location & very reasonably priced. This RV park was a real find. If you are going to be in the area, this is a great place to stay. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Being there during the low season, the park was mostly empty and very quiet. Nice sites, easy enough to maneuver, and FHU all up to par. Tips for other Campers:

Located near most Redwoods attractions and parks, but rather far from most services (nearest diesel is in Rio Dell, about 10 minutes to the north). If in a bigger rig, I'd recommend using Exit 667 off Hwy 101, that way the Avenue of Giants is much easier to negotiate than if using Exit 671.

Set in the redwoods, so plenty of hiking available nearby. You are quite isolated, so bring what you need- you basically go north to Fortuna for shopping.
