This is a very nice park in the heart of the Redwoods, but lacks amenities for the money. Sites are level, asphalt, plenty long and hookups are well situated. Water pressure was only 30, even though we were the only people in the park! There is no cable TV, no TV stations available by antenna, but our Direct TV Satellite service was great. No cell service, and even using the booster while inside the office, service was poor. We were the only campers in the park, and with only one light on in the park, it was extremely dark at night. And since there was no phone service, it was a bit intimidating. We felt insecure at night, since there are hundreds of homeless young people living along the roads throughout Humbolt County, and we had no way of calling for help if needed. The laundry room and bathrooms were very clean and nice. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and had it not been for them, we probably would have ended our stay sooner. We would stay here again, but only if it were earlier in the season, and there were other campers in case help was needed at night. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Very nice park. We stayed here in our 45' RV and had no trouble maneuvering on the roads. Sites were close but still comfortable. What a perfect a location for sightseeing the Avenue of the Giants!! We had a wonderful time in this area. Verizon coverage was very poor. Registration is in the gift shop and the folks are very nice and helpful! I recommend this campground highly. The sites are fine with grass between. Seems like tight corners though if there was a full park. We were about the only ones there, so it felt a little spooky. You have no cell coverage if you have any security issues. The owner told us (before he left for the night) he has a Verizon booster at the office, for better coverage. That's okay for daytime coverage, but it won't do you any good if there's a problem during the night. We heard a few vehicles drive through the park in the middle of the night, but all seemed okay when we got up the next morning. You are literally in the middle of the redwoods, except for this opening, so I believe it's a great park for the summer or when more campers are staying here. It would be a 10 except there is always room for improvement. Great location along Avenue of the Giants. Not a lot of shade and the Internet drove us crazy it would disconnect but then connect right back up. People were very friendly and most helpful. Would I stay here again? You bet ya. Clean asphalt meadow in the middle of the Humboldt redwoods, perfect for exploring the area. Wide, level spaces, one row shaded by fir trees, the others satellite friendly. We had no Verizon reception, but the park has their own WiFi (it can drop once per minute but immediately reconnects). Low-key friendly office does not require deposit or first-born (how refreshing!). Great voltage. Clean bathroom & shower, but only one of each. Will stop here again when passing through. This is a great park along Avenue of the Giants. This is the second time we have stayed here. It is right along the route among the giants and easy to get to anywhere in this area. You are just walking distance from these fabulous trees. Two nice fruit/veggie stands in Pepperwood helped make the stay great. Sites are asphalt with grass in between. Well maintained. Owner is very nice and helpful. Has wi-fi but cell service only works in the office area as the owner had to buy a repeater from Verizon to get a signal for us to pick up. There are not any cell towers near. IF you are in this area, you need to stop and stay a night or two here. Plenty of room and you will enjoy the wonderful redwoods. Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $44.00
A pleasant, clean and flat park on this beautiful scenic route. Most places were taken and we were probably one of just a few who were only staying one night. Quiet. Easy access. Would return. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

The facilities were excellent. Nice spaces, and the laundry and restrooms were all new and clean. The only reason I rated this lower than a 10 was because of spotty wifi service. And, just FYI, there is no AT&T phone service, which of course they can do nothing about, but if you need to stay in touch, you have to leave the park to look for service. Veyr friendly and helpful staff, with some interesting attractions on sight. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Great place. Nice friendly staff. Spacious roads and sites. Easy to find. Quiet. Wifi is excellent. No AT&T which didn't matter. Would return here again. Cute gift shop on premises. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Clean, well maintained, friendly people. Plenty of room for big rigs. Ours was 40'. I'd go back anytime. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $40.00
Park is off of highway, no noise. Very open, no shade. Tall trees along south side of park; satellite works well in north sites. Paved roads and level wide sites, with grass between. Just long enough for 37 ft M/H and towed. Wi-Fi O.K., but at times had problems staying connected. Power and water was good, no cell (AT&T). 10 miles from shopping, restaurants, etc. We would camp here again. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $38.00
Park is very new (2007) and grounds and facilities reflect their young age. Very friendly service from the park hosts. Spots are large and easy to park in. If you can't park here, you shouldn't be driving an RV. Has full hookups with multiple options for sewer hoses at each site. Fire rings for everyone and plenty of space for an awning or slide-out. Paved roads and sites. Most, but not all, sites have picnic tables. Bathrooms and showers are very clean, but there are only 2 showers for this 49 space park. We were here in early October and one shower was locked and appears to not have been open for some time, so there was only one available shower. Only one light was operating in the park so bring a flashlight if you're out after dark. Only one toilet in the men's and women's bathrooms which are in a separate building from the showers. Internet disconnects you every 2-3 minutes, then waits about 20 seconds before you can sign back on. We found the lack of facilities and poor internet frustrating for a park going for $38.50/night. Very nice campground, large sites and the grounds are very neat. Nightly rate includes tax. Satellite dish friendly, no cable TV in park. I would stay here again. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a small low-key park...no frills. Wi-Fi was adequate, and the place was clean and quiet. Quiet mainly because there were only 6 or 8 other rigs. Spaces are long and wide and quite level. All the hookups work. What else do you want? Oh yes, only one shower for the whole park, but they're at the end of their season and are getting ready to close. At least it was clean. We'll be coming back here again. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Well maintained campground, with helpful staff at check in. Roads are paved. Pads are paved with long and level pull throughs. Big rig access was marginal, a little tight pulling in and out of our site. It's a small campground, and when we were there in late October, only 6 of the sites were occupied, so it was very quiet, the campground closes in mid November. There was space around the RV, so no need to unhook your towed if you are there for just one night. A few trees and grass between each site, no picnic table. No view as such, but it's in a very pretty setting. The bathrooms and laundry were spotless. WiFi was good but there was no cell. Food stores and restaurants are not close by, but lots of sightseeing is. We would stay here again, it's hard to find a decent place to stay along Hwy 101, and we were very pleasantly surprised with this campground. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
