23 Parks near Redding, California
Oct 2012 - $13.00
If you are looking for a park "out there" with no phone, no internet, no TV, you might like this park. If you do not mind a bunch of barking machines you might like it even more. If not - go somewhere else. We will not stay here again. - fulltimer126
Sep 2011 - $15.00
The only reason we stayed here is because of the price. The other parks in Redding were much more than we wanted to pay. Lots of drawbacks, ie: rough roads, junky permanent resident sites and trashy modular units on site. Pluses to the park was the quiet rural setting but fairly close to Redding and the tourist attractions. Not sure if we would stay here again. They need to clean up the place and get rid of the trashy permanent residents. - User2209
Oct 2009 - $30.00
If you like being out there, this is the perfect place to stay, if not then head on to Redding. Park is nice although the roads will tear up your RV. The owner/manager is very nice and tries to help all she can. It's quite a pull up the hill leading into the Park, and it's gated. They do monthly rentals for RV sites. 345.00 a month + electric. Do not stay monthly in the winter months of November and December, as the electric rates can top $400.00 a month. Summer electric rates were around $50.00. Big difference in electric rates forced us to move on down the road. We like to stay a few months at each place we visit. They allow older RVs, so don't expect to see nothing but nice rigs. The monthly tenants can try and force themselves on you. Best not to talk to anyone. Cheers! - Mr Zorg
Nov 2014 - $30.00
This park is nothing fancy, however, large paved sites with full hookups. Park is quiet and in great location on river. The entrance only has one sign so need to be alert! Would have rated higher except it only has 30 amps. Would stay there again! - RJourney
May 2007 - $26.00
After we made our reservations and arrived to check in, we were told that Credit cards were not accepted The total of $53.90 for two nights, including tax. and a fee for our pet was paid in cash. The campground was like one big parking lot filled with wild geese, which roamed the area at will, interfering with the guests and making loud sounds at night. . The sites were 40 foot long and were full hook ups. The facility was neat and clean and had a good location near the river. - howie21
Jul 2016 - $39.00
This is a very nice park, very easy to get in and out of. When we first arrived and started to hook up to utilities, we found that we had a problem with the 30 amp electrical hook up. I went to the park office and told them about the issue and they jumped on it right away. It was 109 degrees out side and the park manager was out there for about an hour and got it fixed. The people that run this park are first class, very helpful the entire stay. The bathrooms and showers we very clean and well taken care of. The laundry room was also well maintained.
If you are going to stay in Redding CA I would highly recommend this park. - JohnPD
Jul 2016 - $40.00
Very nice park. We were originally put in site 122 but could not get satellite tv and the office moved us to site 73 and it worked perfect. The restrooms were very clean and checked often. Seemed to be many long term residents but not a problem. There is not much to do at the park directly but the location is good for exploring Lake Shasta, Whiskeytown Lake etc. - Phoenixaway
Jul 2016 - $39.00
We originally had reservations up in Lake Shasta and the day we were leaving I went into my google maps to map our trip and noticed some reviews of the place in the Google maps app. I clicked on them and it took me to Yelp. I was horrified to find that the place in Shasta had terrible reviews. I had only booked our trip 3 months ago, yet in the last 2 weeks since the 4th of July there were 5 bad reviews, bringing down the overall rating. This was the first week the hubs and I had off in 4 years. We decided we couldn't take a chance. We immediately found Mountain Gate here on RV Park Reviews. I called and spoke to a very nice man who got us in for 5 nights!! Mountain Gate RV Resort is super friendly and super clean. There's a gated dog park with gravel. The spots where we are, are off set so we don't see neighbors on either side. We don't use the bathrooms/showers, but I hear they're clean and the parks overall cleanliness likely reflects that. The pool is quaint and very clean. They have coffee and muffins in the office in the morning. Needless to say, the hubs and I had to drive to our original destination to see what all the horror was about. It was horrible, staying at Mountain Gate RV Resort was the best decision we made. We're only halfway into our trip and we love the peacefulness. A little highway noise, but not bad at all. This park is wonderful! - Maxandginger
Jul 2016 - $60.00
Wanted to check on a bit early- Was told NO way! No parking, don't show early. We sat in a truck stop killing time- Showed up at 12:10, they were nice at check in... Went to our new big-rig site to find them all empty!!! Overall a nice park, they try hard. Have done a good job fixin up the place. But too much $$$ for what you get. We won't stay here again. - Tredguy
Jun 2016 - $55.00
We had a premium site with a very plush green lawn, nice landscaping, and close enclosed dog park. Liked that we could use our satellite TV. Had a great Father's Day breakfast done by this couple who did a fabulous job. Excellent eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, etc. They are also super friendly and accommodating. Have other similar events. Great people in the front office too. We loved our stay. Cancelled with another park to stay at a Premier RV Resorts in Lincoln City, OR. Don't mind paying a bit extra for a very nice park with very nice people. - nancyjean100
Jun 2016 - $48.00
Do not plan on using the pool, it is freezing cold. They do not heat it. Lots of rules some a little crazy. I'm a full time RVer and stayed all over the US and Canada, never ever have I not been able to stake my awning sun shade down. I've stayed here 3 times not sure if I will again. - Ken & Karen M
Aug 2016 - $18.00
They add $5 for electric, after tax our total was $25.30. Cashier friendly and efficient. Sites are built in 3 long rows sloping down a gentle slope, ez to navigate but are tight to neighboring site. Exiting our rv was awkward as the step was off the pavement as well as sloping down and into the neighboring site. Convenient for travelers on I-5. OK for overnight, freeway noise noticeable beginning at 6AM. Pool was nice, restrooms/showers nice and roomy. - abqnm
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Very professional, friendly staff. FHU 50 amp site was level even though this small park is on a hill. Sites are narrow but long enough for our 40' rig and toad. WIFI very good and included in the price. Passport America and Good Sam discounts are available but PA is only good for one night and you must make a reservation 24 hours in advance in order to obtain it. However, you can combine the GS & PA discounts if you plan ahead. We would return if in the area again. - Bob & Stephanie
Jun 2016 - $36.00
This is a simple, clean, affordable stop. The staff is friendly, they offer a free basic continental breakfast (coffee, pastries, fruit), they do have a pool, pool table, and laundry facility as well. All sites are relatively level, paved, but a bit tight. We'd stay here again. - JPen365
Nov 2015 - $38.00
Very friendly and outgoing managers. They really make you feel welcome here. The park appears to be mostly permanent residents and I believe we were the only overnight guests here. Heavily treed so forget satellite. Very good cable hook up though. Although the park is very close to I-5 we asked to be parked as far away from the highway as possible and they were happy to accommodate us. There is also a nice dog walk area that appeared clean and cared for. - americana
May 2015 - $43.00
Nice park in the trees which was good as it was very windy in May 2105. Showers OK. 30 amp electrical worked but may I suggest an upgrade in the future? On the Sac River and a joy to walk & see it. Great you can arrive without a reservation & check in after hours. Friendly service in the AM. - Saxman
Aug 2014 - $33.00
First let me correct a few things that are stated on the website and their literature that are not true. They no longer have a boat ramp and there are no docks or marina. Totally out of use. I don't know why they don't remove it from their website and take it off their sign out front. Also there is no driving range - unless you call 2 beat up rubber mats and a burnt up field where you hit your own balls and then have to go out and pick them up a driving range. I don't. OK, now we have that fixed this is a nice shady park with pleasant and attentive management. Clean pool and restrooms and good laundry. Next to the highway, but when running the ac you don't hear it. Just 10 minutes to Redding. I would stay here again. - Saddle Tramp 66
Aug 2016 - $24.00
As stated in other reviews, this is basically a very clean parking lot with concrete pads and hookups.
Pluses include: fairly level concrete pad; use of hotel pool, fitness room, and hot tub - ask for "room" key when registering. Electric cart service to and from the casino. Grass areas on the perimeter of the area with grills and tables. Nice river walk accessible across the street from the RV area.
Decent restaurant in the casino; and $10 free play (that includes an extra $5 for staying at the rv park).
Cons include: super bright all night long. Super hot during the day (it was 100+ out) since the RV area is all asphalt and concrete. - Bay Area Early retirees
Jul 2016 - $24.00
Stayed on Saturday night. Park was mostly full. Glad we made a reservation. FWIW, we noticed a couple rigs were parked in sites during day, but not hooked up. They left before dark and the sites were subsequently filled by incoming rigs.
Be wary of the speed bumps, they only partially cover the whole width of the entrance and exit lanes. They can cause a lot of rocking and rolling as you drive to and from the RV parking area. - GerMarV
May 2016 - $25.00
For a stop-over site, or even a several-day stay, this is about as good as it gets. From previous reviews, my primary concern was that this would be an impossible place to sleep due to overhead sodium lights, but it was not nearly as bad as described. And at the time of year we stayed, there was the ever-present sound of frogs at night. I have no idea where the water is, but there has to be a creek or pond bordering the parking lot somewhere.
This place is tiny, and of course it's your basic parking lot (no landscaping), but the hookups are IMMACULATE. All sites are pull-through. Each site offers your choice of 50, 30, or 20 amp service, water, and sewer. There are several dog stations (with bags and trash cans for same) for walking, but there's also a little fenced yard in the corner in case you want to let Fido loose.
And the service! Holy cow. You can easily walk to the casino from the RV lot if you want, but electric carts are ever-available (or if not, just call the phone number they give you, and one will instantly appear). These people are friendly and accommodating. I'm pretty sure the next time we come through, we'll stay more than just one night.
The casino is also smaller than I imagined, but even then, there is a separate, closed-off non-smoking area, although the regular casino wasn't bad at all. I wasn't aware of any smoky haze or smell.
My only ding would be for the "good" restaurant, which wasn't that great. We asked for cheese sauce for the broccoli, for example, and at first they brought us a tiny bit of shredded cheese (?), price extra. When I make it clear my BF wanted actual *sauce*, they brought out... melted Velveeta?? Better they should have just said no. But they tried. Price is excellent, of course (it's a casino), but don't expect first-class food. The trade-off is that you can drink all you want, and not have to drive to get there or back. - Karen On The Road
Jun 2016 - $25.00
20 Sites, all back-in. 50 amp, water, Dump available Large Pool. Good Food and Busy Lodge. Filled up each afternoon. Plenty of shopping in Redding area. Very friendly Elks Lodge. Our stop in Northern California. Direct TV OK in East side. Dog friendly. - silverado
Jun 2016 - $25.00
One of the nicest Elks RV parks. We stayed there two nights and enjoyed the pool and other Elks functions such as the dinners and bar. Nice walking area by the river close by, but you need to know that there are some homeless along the trail. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. - Eagle4
Apr 2015 - $18.00
Elk Members Only. 20 sites, Elect and Water, Dump available. Very busy and friendly Lodge, Good Kitchen food. Close to Sacramento River. Will stay again. - silverado
Jun 2014 - $36.00
Good spot for a quick stop, but not a resort destination. It's practically in the breakdown lane of I-5. The pool was nice and clean and the store seemed adequate. The staff was very nice and helpful. - Bill & Alisen
Jul 2013 - $30.00
The pictures of the park on their website depicts a nice park, but when we arrived it was a run down park with mostly long term, lots of torn up ground and weeds and lost lawn. OK for an overnight and out but right off the freeway made for traffic noise non-stop. - Kona
May 2013 - $26.00
We enjoyed our two nights' stay here. Despite the fact that there are a few old, rusty vehicles in the park, it's quite nicely laid out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathroom facilities are a bit old but were functional and clean. If I recall correctly they have AAA discounts. The interstate is close, so you'll hear a bit traffic noise. Would definitely stay here again. - Chbronson
Jun 2016 - $12.00
We were surprised to find a beautiful little RV park in the older section of town. Mostly long-term residents, but the park is kept in great condition. The staff and neighbors are welcoming and friendly. Backing in our huge fifth wheel was tricky, and the staff insisted on backing us in. Nice pool and patio area. Washer/dryers are very reasonably priced. Rate listed reflects the monthly rate. We were able to squeeze our dually and another vehicle on the site. - Crazy Suzy
May 2016 - $30.00
We stayed at Green Acres for a couple of weeks while waiting for service on our rig. Mostly long-term residents, very nice people. The owner is an older man who impressed us as a man of principle - he even refunded us 82 cents when he realized he had overcharged us. He and the park host/hostess and our neighbors went out of their way to help and advise us with the issues with our rig. The park itself has sites which are close together but they are nicely landscaped. It's pretty quiet considering its location right next to a major road. The train track is active but we got used to it. The park is an oasis in a rough neighborhood, but we always felt safe there. - MikenTerri
Jan 2016 - $30.00
Very nice place, super clean, well maintained. In town, near several RV Sales/Service/Parts places. Laundry on site, lots of trees. Owner is a top notch guy! - Evenstevens
