We have stay at this park many times and always enjoy it. The driveways and sites are paved and wide with easy access to the sites. All the utilities work well. I have given up on RV park WiFi and just use my AT&T hotspot. The landscaping is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very lovely, very clean and well-manicured campground. The staff was wonderful. They have a wide, grassed buffered area between the sites facing the river with picnic tables and a glider where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee (morning) or glass of wine (later in the day) and watch the changing surface of the water, birds, including a humming bird, and fish jumping. While it was quite hot during our visit, along the river's edge the temperature was as much as 20 degrees cooler. Highly recommended! We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful, clean and neat RV park. I am so glad we chose this park. It was easy to navigate in and out. Roads were paved, as well as the sites and we had a large amount of grass at our site. There was a dog park which my dog enjoyed, although it would have been nice for it to be grass. The staff at the office was helpful and they did offer a cash discount. Verizon cell service was good and our air card was a little slow but okay. The park is south of the city but getting into the city was very quick with restaurants and shopping within 1 or 2 exits on the freeway. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is pretty nice with wide paved streets and level sites. Unfortunately, they didn't mow the grass on our site though all the others appeared mowed. It made the area outside our unit basically unusable. No shade on our site either. You can walk along the river--very pleasant. The dog park is all gravel, so not all that useful--my little dog couldn't run wild like he does on grass. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a delightful park on the Sacramento River just south of Redding. As a travel on I-5 this is a great place to overnight and/or explore the area. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

JGW is a very nicely landscaped park right on the banks of the Sacramento River. We opted for a riverview site for a forward-facing rig. They also offer back-facing sites for rigs with better viewing windows in that end, as well as regular sites without a water view. Bird-watchers can enjoy sitting on the banks of the river, but must be aware of lawn sprinklers which could catch them unexpectedly. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stay here at JGW whenever we are in northern Calif. We especially enjoy their waterfront sites, but all are easily accessible. Beautiful, green mowed lawn area by the Sacramento River. Such beautiful views. The staff is always helpful and polite. My only suggestion would be to mow the grassy areas next to the waterfront sites more frequently and someday possibly change the sharp rock to a rounder rock. This campground is one of our favorites. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Noise from Hwy 5 was constant.

Wifi did not connect with any of our 4 devices during our 3 day visit. I guess they were not "compatible" as the brochure indicates might be the case.

ATT 4G signal was spotty and slow.

Direct TV signal was obtained nicely.

Shared patio, shared utility island and nose to rear tandem parking less than pleasant.

Otherwise a well constructed, clean rv park.

Their River view sites might be more quiet, private and soothing. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riverview pull-through site for my travel trailer was wonderful! Sunset viewed from lawn chair on grassy riverbank watching the river meander by. Saw great blue heron, osprey, bald eagle, kingfisher, ducks, and river otters! Staff is friendly. Bathrooms & showers spotless. Fenced dog run. Landscaping & grounds are beautiful, with big oaks near the Sacramento River. Was so relaxing here after a day of driving Interstate 5. I'll return again & again during my travels! Thank you. The RV park was very comfortable and nice. Having "101 Things to Do" in the area, the park was a hit for us and we hated to leave. The bathrooms were clean as well as the facilities and grounds. Although you are next to the Interstate and will hear it, the payoff is that you are next to the Sacramento River that is calming. I usually don't comment on long-term RVers, but I must comment that they were very nice, clean, neat, and enjoyable. I would rate this a 10 but you will hear noises of the highway and train. Also I think the long-term RVers occupied the best sites. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

I would rate this park higher but I do not like RV resorts that place big rocks around the RV pad. I have weak knees and felt like I was going to fall everytime I tried to walk in or out of our coach. Also, as serene a setting that the park is in along the Sacramento river....it is interrupted by the constamt noise of a nearby major construction zone which is very annoying. Otherwise, park is clean...staff very pleasant. They really ought to get rid of the rocks before someone falls and is injured. Lot spacing is spacious. Site surface is a concrete pad and gravel and features a picnic table. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed several times over the years at this park and each time enjoy the time we are there immensely. We have always felt this to be a really nice park to just kick back by the river and unwind for a few days so that's why we keep coming back. Nothing has changed much since our last review and we still highly recommend this park to any and all passing through the Redding area either for an overnighter or for several days of lazing by the river. It just don't get much mo betta than this one. The reason for the mediocre "service rating" this time was due to a reservation clerk screwing up our reservation which put us into a spot where we were unable to get satellite reception and the afternoon sun was right into our patio area with no way of shading it. Hey, it could have been handled differently by management and wasn't and it did leave a bit of a bad taste in our mouths as we are regular customers to this park. Other than that, it's definitely worth checking out. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you aren't towing a vehicle then the only option open for groceries of any kind is a tiny mom & pop store about 2/3 mile walking distance up the road. Down I-5 a few miles is Safeway, Walmart and many other options if you have a vehicle to get there. The park store carries zilch, zip, nada and evidently doesn't intend to again as they once did.

JGW has an absolutely pristine clean appearance as one enters the RV park. Pull-thru spots, however, are a bit funky to get through. We had to pull through one site to get our to our alleged pull-thru. One spot backs up another site, so if the one spot were occupied, our pull-thru would have become a back in. The office computer apparently keeps track of the possibilities at JGW. Since no one was in the thru-slot, we were able to move right into our site.

A small distance from our location was the gorgeous Sacramento River, moving leisurely past JGW. Otters could be seen frolicking in the shallows.

I think almost all sites have full hookups. Highway noise is very minimal so a good night's sleep was assured. Our only complaint might have been that the WiFi was very weak to nonexistent at our camp spot. Our neighbors had an outdoor television connected to the park's cable system and the picture appeared to be very good. We opted for a satellite connection with our Dish Tailgater.

JGW was the last stop on our return trip from British Columbia and would definitely be worth another visit when a longer stay could be arranged. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice, very well-kept park on bank of Sacramento River. Cement "forest service" style picnic tables were great - no worry about burning w/BBQ. Sites are very level (slab with gravel on two sides - grassy area next to gravel on door side) don't have BBQs or firepits, but there is a parklike area (w/benches, seats, etc) between the campsites and the river that does and the whole park is surrounded by vast greenbelt area. Lovely pool. Quite a few sites (more expensive) overlook the river. All of the picnic tables appear to be surrounded by shrubbery for privacy. Limited shade in central part of campsite area - if you have shade in a.m. may not in p.m. and vice versa. Nice pull through sites. Large clean bathrooms with large shower rooms. Very large, shady dog run. Grandson loved being able to fish. Only negatives - some freeway noise, but it didn't even bother us, and fact that they charge additional for over 2 people, but w/discount about breaks even. Ever have another late football game in area would certainly consider staying there again. Very big rig friendly (mine isn't big at all, so could have stayed in any site). We camped at JGW RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
