Kind of a pricey park for what you get. I have stayed here before and sometimes they have cable and sometimes not. They say they have wifi but they don't. At least it never works even when standing by the antenna for it. Nice grassy areas with private picnic tables for each site with hedge in between. Short walk down to the river. I will stay at one of the other parks next time on my way home. If you pay cash it is $40 otherwise $44 which I did not know and did not have that much cash on me yet. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice park, large spaces with plenty of space for RV and truck. Moderately pricy for winter rates and apparently discounts are not available when Winter Rates are in effect. Electric and water pressure were good. Cable was usable but we stuck with our Satellite. WiFi, like previous Reviewers stated, was pretty much non-existent unless I stood in very close proximity to he restroom. Restrooms were very clean but also very cold. Laundry was clean but SUPER EXPENSIVE at $3.25 for wash & $3.25 for drying.

Overall opinion, I stayed at this park because it was centrally located to my family. In the future I will likely opt for something in Red Bluff. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The rate is based on a weekly stay, with a cash discount, for a river-front site. The campground is very pretty, particularly the river-front sites, with a beautiful green lawn. The grounds are very well landscaped and maintained. Spacing is generous. The campground is about 15 minutes south of Redding and is right along the Interstate. Therein lies the problem. The sound of the Interstate is very loud throughout the park. It was tolerable during the winter when we had all the windows closed, but we would not stay here during the summer when we wanted to be outside a lot or have windows open.

The park has WiFi, but we could not get a good signal from the one centrally located antenna. Our Verizon voice and data worked well. All utilities were good. The spaces are large and paved. They have a large clean laundry, but it is very expensive at $3.25 each for wash and dry. We have never paid that much before.

When we checked in, the lady noticed our bicycles and told us to make for sure and lock them as they had had bicycle thefts. So be aware. We did lock our bikes as we always do, but had no problems of any kind. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We would stay again during the winter but not during the summer because of the freeway noise. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our 4th stay at JGW RV park. It's one of our favorites because it's consistently clean, well maintained grounds, and toilets/showers are clean and good. Shower is roomy and has a hand held shower head with good water power. And we are able to reserve space close to bathroom. The setting on the Sacramento River is very nice, but we were disappointed that the swing viewing the river was missing. We were pleasantly surprised that they had cableTV once again. We didn't reserve longer because we didn't think they had cable. They had cancelled it the last three times we were there. Wifi, like most, inadequate to non existent. The park not that crowded, and we were right across from the router. And we tried many times throughout the day, early mornings, late at night. Very level concrete pads. Large sites. Easy access. Pool too cold to swim in and it was over 100 during the day. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

One of our very favorite RV Resorts. We stayed in a deluxe site with a view of the Sacramento River. A discount is offered if paying by cash, no checks. We were told however that since we were staying three days they would take a check. I didn't travel with my checkbook but will next time. So peaceful! Friendly staff. We used the on site laundry facilities. It closes at 5:00 p.m. so last load has to be in by 3:30 p.m. WiFi didn't reach our site but the view made up for it. This will be our first overnight stop whenever we head north on I-5 and our last when we head home. Large dog run, dirt, but our German Shorthaired Pointer enjoyed the off-leash freedom. Pick-up bags are available just outside the run if you forget to bring some along. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited the Sundial Bridge in Redding, kayaked in Whiskeytown Lake, grocery shopped in Redding, and shopped at Headwaters Kayak, Costco, and purchased an Australian Akubra hat in Anderson. Otherwise, we just enjoyed soaking in the view from camp, watching Dory's float down river.

We have stay at this park many times and always enjoy it. The driveways and sites are paved and wide with easy access to the sites. All the utilities work well. I have given up on RV park WiFi and just use my AT&T hotspot. The landscaping is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very lovely, very clean and well-manicured campground. The staff was wonderful. They have a wide, grassed buffered area between the sites facing the river with picnic tables and a glider where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee (morning) or glass of wine (later in the day) and watch the changing surface of the water, birds, including a humming bird, and fish jumping. While it was quite hot during our visit, along the river's edge the temperature was as much as 20 degrees cooler. Highly recommended! We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful, clean and neat RV park. I am so glad we chose this park. It was easy to navigate in and out. Roads were paved, as well as the sites and we had a large amount of grass at our site. There was a dog park which my dog enjoyed, although it would have been nice for it to be grass. The staff at the office was helpful and they did offer a cash discount. Verizon cell service was good and our air card was a little slow but okay. The park is south of the city but getting into the city was very quick with restaurants and shopping within 1 or 2 exits on the freeway. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is pretty nice with wide paved streets and level sites. Unfortunately, they didn't mow the grass on our site though all the others appeared mowed. It made the area outside our unit basically unusable. No shade on our site either. You can walk along the river--very pleasant. The dog park is all gravel, so not all that useful--my little dog couldn't run wild like he does on grass. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

JGW is a very nicely landscaped park right on the banks of the Sacramento River. We opted for a riverview site for a forward-facing rig. They also offer back-facing sites for rigs with better viewing windows in that end, as well as regular sites without a water view. Bird-watchers can enjoy sitting on the banks of the river, but must be aware of lawn sprinklers which could catch them unexpectedly. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stay here at JGW whenever we are in northern Calif. We especially enjoy their waterfront sites, but all are easily accessible. Beautiful, green mowed lawn area by the Sacramento River. Such beautiful views. The staff is always helpful and polite. My only suggestion would be to mow the grassy areas next to the waterfront sites more frequently and someday possibly change the sharp rock to a rounder rock. This campground is one of our favorites. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Noise from Hwy 5 was constant.

Wifi did not connect with any of our 4 devices during our 3 day visit. I guess they were not "compatible" as the brochure indicates might be the case.

ATT 4G signal was spotty and slow.

Direct TV signal was obtained nicely.

Shared patio, shared utility island and nose to rear tandem parking less than pleasant.

Otherwise a well constructed, clean rv park.

Their River view sites might be more quiet, private and soothing. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

Riverview pull-through site for my travel trailer was wonderful! Sunset viewed from lawn chair on grassy riverbank watching the river meander by. Saw great blue heron, osprey, bald eagle, kingfisher, ducks, and river otters! Staff is friendly. Bathrooms & showers spotless. Fenced dog run. Landscaping & grounds are beautiful, with big oaks near the Sacramento River. Was so relaxing here after a day of driving Interstate 5. I'll return again & again during my travels! Thank you. The RV park was very comfortable and nice. Having "101 Things to Do" in the area, the park was a hit for us and we hated to leave. The bathrooms were clean as well as the facilities and grounds. Although you are next to the Interstate and will hear it, the payoff is that you are next to the Sacramento River that is calming. I usually don't comment on long-term RVers, but I must comment that they were very nice, clean, neat, and enjoyable. I would rate this a 10 but you will hear noises of the highway and train. Also I think the long-term RVers occupied the best sites. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.
