This park is located right off of I-5 just north of Redding, CA. It's nestled in trees, the road is paved and sites are concrete. Some of the sites have a "steepish" hill to either back into to pull out. The site had 30, 50 amp and was pull through and basically level with cable. Some have large rocks around the utility hookups. Some sites have concrete picnic tables but all sites appear to have tables. There is wifi. There is a small store with a few supplies and ice. They sell propane. The bathrooms are good size and clean. It has a laundry room with 4 washers and 5 dryers and inexpensive to use. It has a fair amount of room and folding table. There is a pool and a club room. The club has tables and chairs, a large wrap around couch and TV with movies to watch. In the mornings they have a continental breakfast in the club. It's a clean park and well maintained. The park is about a 15 min drive from good shopping and restaurants like Costco, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, movie theater, Trader Joe's, Olive Garden, Famous Dave's just to mention a few and a mall with Macy's, Penney's, Sears. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Worth a drive to see the sundial bridge that is close in town. Nothing exciting there really, just unusual to see.

In all our years of RVing, this was one of the cleanest and most well-maintained parks we've visited. Additionally, the wifi was the most reliable internet in any park visited. The park is right off the I-5 which makes for easy on and off when traveling. We would stay here again. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a one day drive from home and have stayed here often. Easy to get to, good price, and a nice clean park. Concrete pads are level and the utilities are positioned near the center of each site making them very convenient. Freeway noise is noticeable but not bothersome. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

No frills but great overnight park. Can't beat if for the price. WiFi is browser based but worked ok. Lots of trees, your sat is not going to work most likely. But...it's Redding! You want shade in the summer! We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice spaces between sites and clever use of site placement made it feel private. Helpful staff. Designated dog area was remote. Few common grass areas. Breakfast (continental) is a nice touch, and uncommon. Wide streets. Would stay again. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This pretty park is located about seven miles north of Redding on Interstate 5, so there is no commute traffic in the morning. It is easy to find and easy to maneuver around in. The manager was very helpful and accommodating. All of the parks in Redding are nice and this one is no exception. We would stay here again when in the area. The price quoted was before both the Good Sam discount, and a $1.00 charge for the dog. Good hookups including cable. The management provides scented poop bags and a fenced dog walk which is always appreciated. The sites have shade trees, tables and grassy areas. Will definitely stay here again when in the area. Great park to stay while visiting Lake Shasta area, without staying at Lake Shasta. WiFi and cable TV worked well. Park is near I-5, but freeway noise was not an issue. Some long term residences. But not a problem. We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Lake Shasta Dam and Shasta Caverns .

We camped in a fifth wheel. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We had hoped to make it up to Blue Heron RV park but were running late and found this place. Very close to the freeway but overall a very nice place. The concrete pads were a treat. They are pet friendly with many areas to take your dogs. They do charge a dollar for each dog and 2 dollars for every extra person. Still the value very good compared to a KOA. They do have a peculiar WiFi limit of one device per customer that perplexed us since we registered late and weren't told. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

I didn't think quite as highly of the park as others. The WiFi was not good at all, I was constantly kicked off. The cable was OK but a bit sketchy at times. The sites were very small. I asked for a back in site which was on the perimeter so I could have easy access to the dog runs, I got a site on the end of an island in the middle with about a 4 x 5 area of grass, very small sites. On the up side, the bathrooms and showers were spotless and a very very friendly staff. The noise from I-5 was pretty loud all the time, even through the evening. There are a lot of permanents, but as others have said, all nice and well maintained. I would have rated higher except for the noise, WiFi ( or lack of) and site size. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were very happy with this park. It is everything you want in an RV park, plus really friendly helpful staff. Located right off I-5 we didn't notice traffic noise at all. The grounds were attractive, with lots of shade trees that really helped in the 100 degree heat. The pool and spa were super clean and attractive. Sites were level concrete with some grass and picnic tables. Hookups well maintained and worked well. Maintenance person on site all day every day. Quiet. Lots of permanents but all good looking and well maintained in separate areas of the park. We had a pull-through site; easy to access on paved roads throughout the park. Groceries and other shopping one and two exits away on the interstate made our stay real easy. A great choice, and we would definitely choose to stay here again. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park, off and on, for 15 years. It is immaculately clean, shaded by large trees, has wonderful staff, and has an off leash, fenced dog area big enough for our golden retriever and german shepherd. When we called to say we were on our way from Southern Oregon, staff advised us that there were many fires along Highway 5 and didn't want us to get "stuck." He said he would advise us if he got more information. Upon arrival, as we got through easily, he couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. When told that it was our wedding anniversary he offered and gave us a bottle of champagne that was in his fridge. Such warmth and friendliness. Mountain Gate is a great place for an over night or for a week as it is close to the recreational opportunities of the city of Redding (5 miles south) or Lake Shasta (a short drive north.) We recommend Mountain Gate! We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. This is the most delightful campsite, easy access from the I-5 but no intrusive highway noise. Friendly helpful staff, tarmac roads and very level tarmac site. Good cable and Wi-Fi, lovely pool and hot tub. Continental breakfast. We certainly recommend this campsite and would happily stay here again. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 3 nights in this park. The driveways are big rig friendly, but some sites are sloped and a bit difficult to pull through if you are in a longer rig. Park is very clean and well kept. The pool was not free of leaves and debris, but it was also cold and off season. The hot tub was nice and was kept covered when not in use. Each morning, they prepare a continental breakfast, which was nice. It included your breakfast basics. This campground is a bit north of Redding, but is very convenient to the interstate. With that convenience did come interstate noise, but otherwise, it was a nice stay. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.
