Right on I-5 and 299. Convenient is a plus. Noisy with freeway. Sites are as close together as I've ever seen. Our first site (#18) was so unlevel that we asked for another site. Office gave us another site that worked fine. Not sure I'd want to stay here again. Pluses are some shade, near routes, and...not much else. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Okay for overnight. Everything worked. Sites were very close together and there was road noise from I-5; we were on the loop farthest from the highway and it was there but not too bad. Nice host and easy check-in. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice enough park for an overnight. We've stayed at other parks in Redding that we liked better.

Overall Rating:

The location is great. Just off I-5 but far enough away that there was no highway noise. We were in the upper level which gave us a great view of the surrounding hills. Sadly, were were there for two days of near record rainfall, which made getting in and out of the coach a muddy mess. The paved parking strips are just wide enough for the motorhome, with no room left to walk but on the wet grass. On a dry summer day, the place would be ideal. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Redding has lots of parks to explore. Don't miss the Sundial Bridge and the beautiful garden just a short drive from the park. We kayaked the Sacramento River and then put the boat into Whiskeytown Lake. On the way back from the lake, we explored the old city of Shasta, now a national historic site with a museum. It was well worth the stop.

Overall Rating:

This is the first time we have stayed here since 2013. Again, just for a spot to spend the night heading north. Just the same park as before. The spots are very tight (we have a 39 ft. MH with toad), but manageable. We got the last spot, and you could tell. Very close to units on each side. We got in late, and the night check-in procedure was good. It was somewhat wet, and it tended to be a little muddy. The lower rating was because of the $11 raise in the price for the night (that works out to a 39% increase). It is really not worth 39 dollars, but I made the reservations without asking the price since I didn't expect that much of a raise in the price with NO improvements in the park at all. Restrooms are very nice, but there aren't many of them, but we were parked very close to one of them, so that worked out. We may or may not stay here again, only because of the cost and what you get for it. We will see. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an older park situated on a hill with comparably small spaces compared to newer parks. Not sure larger units (38-40+ft could navigate turns with a toad. The park is well maintained and clean. We only stayed here one night but observed staff cleaning around the area regularly. H2O pressure at the top of the hill was low. Cable TV excellent with numerous and clear reception. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great layover campground and a good location for your base camp if you're visiting the area. Easy on/off I-5 but you do need to pay attention to your GPS and/or directions. Campground is on a hillside (what else, considering the beautiful area?) but easy to get around and sites were very level. Stayed here on trip to Oregon and on return trip home. Courteous and anxious to please staff. Definitely will stay here again. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Decent park for an overnight stay, but not much more than that. Staff was incredibly friendly, which helped the experience, but the grounds were average if not less than that. Not terribly dog friendly, even though there is a small fenced off dog area - one that my dog would not go into, I do not know why. I stayed for two days only because I had a package delivered there and had to wait for it. I ended up leaving because they charged me an exorbitant amount for propane, and did not tell me when I asked, only after the propane was filled. They add a dollar PER GALLON as a surcharge. Note - the park itself is on a hill, and even though it looks slanted, the sites themselves are actually level. I ended up moving across the street to the Premium RV Resort for the rest of the week, and was much happier. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

It rained for the three nights that we stayed here and my overall impression of the park is one big mud pit. The narrow strips between the sites are dirt, thus mud when it rains. The sites are also narrow with not enough room between for awnings. Our sewer hook up was an arm's length from our neighbor's barbecue grill. The sites are concrete with paved interior roads that are pretty tight. The entire park is on a slope, we were at the top which was level. Not sure if the rest of the park would be affected by the slope as it appears they have terraced the sites to get them as level as possible. Friendly office staff. We would stay again in a pinch, but there are lots of other choices in the area that we will try next time. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

When the folks in the office treat you special, it makes your whole stay more pleasant. We were most impressed with the staff at this park! We especially liked that they have recycling bins everywhere! The park was well marked and the roads were easy to navigate with our tow vehicle. This is an easy reach from Interstate 5 (but be sure to watch the signs coming in, from the traffic light, so you don't miss the turn). We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

A good stop for the night in Redding. The price was fair for what you get. We arrived after the office had closed and left before they opened, but our receipt and a map to our site were waiting for us at the office. The sites are fairly narrow and close together, but they are level. The water pressure was a little low. The park was mostly clean, though there was some dog waste in the grass. Overall, we would stop for the night here again. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is easily accessible to the I-5 and convenient to stores, etc. Easy access to town as well. The WIFI is the best we've had since beginning our full-time adventure. The park is on a hill but our space was level and easy in/0ut. Our only complaint was how the sewers are arranged. Your neighbor's sewer is right next to where you would sit outside and spaces are very close together. You get a lot of exhaust when motorhomes come and go - we had to go inside at one point as a neighbor left his motorhome running for more than 15 minutes. Staff couldn't be nicer! We camped at Redding RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Redding RV Park was a great stop. Pull through site, quite, level, easy in and out. Good 50 amp electric. Pleasant, friendly staff. The WiFi is one of the best we have experienced in an RV park. An RV park not a resort. Stayed one night in motorhome. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy to get in/out. Interior roads are paved. Sites are paved. Utilities located mid-site and worked well but very low water pressure up on the hill. Very long site but very narrow. When we pulled in I had to park to allow room to put my slide out and not hit my neighbors awning that was fully extended. Free Wifi worked well. Verizon signal good. Some sites have picnic tables, ours did not. We camped at Redding RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
