Very nice place to stay if you want to be away from all the noise and traffic of Santa Cruz and visit The Pinnacles, be out in the country, etc. Nice staff, nice park, internet ok. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely, clean, modern, well kept park. It's very large and the bulk of the sites appear to be long term. The sites vary quite a bit from ones that are separated by bushes to ones that are right beside each other. We had one of those but it was wide enough to not feel cramped. It was a back in site right next to the large lawn where well-behaved dogs are allowed to run free. This is the first park where I've seen something like that and I really appreciated it! Another nice touch is that you can wash your rig right at your site. Saved a bundle over having to find and use one of the drive in truck wash places.

There are two laundry rooms. I used the one by the office. The equipment was modern and worked fine. No change machine though and no cards so be sure you get some quarters from the office. The restroom was very clean and the shower worked well with decent pressure and plenty of hot water. The only problem we encountered was extremely loud music from about 5 p.m. until midnight on Saturday night from the facility next door. Not the park's fault and I don't know if it's a frequent occurrence, but you might want to ask about it and request a site further away if you are there for a Saturday night. Other than that it was great and we would certainly stay again. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Truck Camper.

We stayed here with a group of 16 Motorhomes. Attendants were friendly and helpful. The double-wide was adequate as a club room. We had two rigs that parked in spots with power problems. They were very attentive to the problems and provided transformer boosters. The spots provided were on asphalt. The rows were in the exit lane of the grounds with people driving way to fast. Too many monthly renters with too many kids and dogs. We were in #120 with a stairway with too much traffic walking through our spots. The trees were planted in the front of the sites causing excess jockying to get satellite service. It was extremely windy. This park is not close to anything! We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nothing close, must drive on freeway to go to San Juan Bautista or Gilroy.

The park was surprisingly full when we arrived for our week stay. Staying for a week often gets you a reduction from the daily rate. We paid $290 for 7 days and that included tax. I believe it was a 15% reduction over the daily rate. The park has concrete sites and paved roads. There are mature trees and landscaping between the sites. While there is not a huge amount of room between the sites, the landscaping makes it feel a little more spacious. There was plenty of room to sit outside in chairs, watch the outside TV, and even do our morning workouts.

The park has free WiFi that worked pretty well, but you are limited to emails and basic web searches. Our Verizon air card worked pretty well, but we did have periods of slow downs. The bathrooms are in good condition and had handicapped showers and toilet stalls. There were 8 washing machines and 10 dryers in the laundry room. Washes cost $1.50 and dryers were $1.00. Extra capacity dryers were $1.50.

A few of the surprising perks in this park were a huge lush grass area across from the office that well mannered pets are allowed to run on while off leash. There is also a more rustic area in the back of the park that has a path around it where pets can also be off leash. Plenty of doggie waste bags and containers are around the park. There is a heated pool, rec room and showers. You are also allowed to wash your own rig at your site if you desire, or have a service do it for you. A car wash area is provided by a separate dump station for free use as well. Although close to the highway, road noise was never a problem. I would stay here again. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Even though it's close to 101, the fulltimers provide a sound barrier. I like having shrubs between us and neighbours but we have a narrow rig. Check in staff were very nice. We'd stay here again. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask for a site away from the highway and they'll try to accommodate you.

Right off Hwy-101 for easy access, and quiet at night. Sites are a bit close together, but manageable. Picnic table, level concrete site. WiFi and cable TV worked great, but some internet sites are blocked if they use excessive bandwidth (games, movies, etc). Restroom/shower in campground very small but clean, best to use the one next to the pool area. large pet area. Campground was full, best to make reservations. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We reserved here for a week with high expectations based on all the excellent reviews, but we were not impressed once we arrived. Most of the park is taken by full-time residents, although their sites were reasonably tidy. Many of the sites for short-term guests are just a paved parking lot: no grass, dirt, or gravel, just blacktop with paint stripes marking the lots. In our section (not the "parking lot" section), the sites were separated by 6-foot wide, very tall and dense shrubs. While these look nice and provide privacy between sites, they also take away most of the available site space on each side. We had to park in the center of our site so that our slide-outs wouldn't hit the shrubs, which left just a couple feet of usable space on our camping side. In short, the site was much too narrow. Without the 6-foot wide shrubs right up against the RV, we'd have had a lot more usable space. We asked to be relocated but were told any other sites would require us to move a couple times during our stay. We ended up spending our week inside the RV since there was no room outside. The WiFi worked on-and-off but was slow. On the positive side, the park is in a beautiful setting, nestled between hills full of grazing cows. There's a very large grassy field where dogs can play, but it's not fenced. Just outside the gate of the park is Betabel Road which is a good place to take longer walks with dogs (minimal traffic, grassy shoulders). Gilroy is a few miles away and has many big box stores, restaurants, etc. We would not return due to the closeness of the sites. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great dog area! Sites were close but okay. Location worked for us. Just south of Gilroy, close enough for services needed. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Carmel area an hour away, as was San Jose. Mission at San Juan Batista worth seeing.

+ 9 Sites are paved, level, and adequately wide; park is nicely treed and quiet [a "levee" shields it from the sights and sounds of nearby hwy 101]; park has cable, LPG, and wi-fi is free and works.

- 1 Elec is fair [voltmeter at edge of red with space heater and hott rodd on] We plan to stop at Betabel every time we head south on hwy 101. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very attractive park, well-maintained with plantings. We were sent first to a site that not only could we not possibly maneuver into but we would have been hanging out on both sides. Luckily, even though they were quite full, they were able to find us another nice spot for our stay. Cable was adequate, but Wi-Fi was bad at our site. I was able to get good reception in the rec room, though, which is open 24 hours. Good selection of items in store. Clean laundry and good pool. Big area for dog walking. There are a few pull-throughs that big-rigs can fit into but most back-ins are for smaller rigs. There is a train track behind the park, but noise is not bad. Very quiet at night. Highway traffic is minimal. Lots of seasonals. Park is convenient to shopping and San Juan Bautista and good for sightseeing in Santa Cruz and Monterey. Park fills up fast, so I recommend reservations. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park. We stayed in a pull thru and with our motorhome being 40ft. we just barely had enough room for our car. But this was ok. The spaces are a little tight but still very nice. Everyone who worked here was very nice and helpful. There's even a place to wash your car. There is a very nice large grassy area to let your dogs run, not fenced though. This is centrally located to so many places, i.e.,Santa Cruz, Monterey, etc. We would not hesitate to come back if in this area. Don't know about the restrooms as we didn't use them but, if they are like the rest of the park, they must be nice. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park with only a couple hiccups. First, the showers in the female showers were clean minus the hair and gum in the drain that my wife had to clean but it was not that big of deal. Then our pull-through site had an uphill battle with the sewage hose. Yes, the drain is uphill from the rig. Other than those two things, this place is nice, the people are friendly, and I would stay here again if I'm in the area. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.
