Actually free, part of Thousand Trails, but still NOT worth the price. You got slides? Good luck. This park was built before slides and now they have marked out narrow sites with white lines that you are expected to stay between. The fire department requires some magic distance away from the 30 amp electric socket. After getting read the riot act, very nicely, I might add, when checking in, we still ended up in a fierce argument with her when she found we were too much over the line. After I threatened to check every RV in the park to make sure they were in the lines, she gave us a few inches of leeway. She has a truly lousy job. Thousand Trails should be ashamed of themselves. RV's with slides should not be allowed and at 42', our MH leaves our Jeep out in the road, but somehow that's ok. You also park opposite your neighbor. Horrible setup. We test the water. Decent tap water (210ppm) and fairly soft. Thousand Trails is two for two with us so far - two losers. Don't come here. Santa Cruz is nothing anyway. The boardwalk is seedy. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

The cable TV works. Wi-Fi, not so much. When you are inside of five miles of this RV park, turn off your GPS. Otherwise, you'll tear your air conditioner(s) off the roof, have to unhook, backup, reverse, and never arrive. The location in Scotts Valley is great. Santa Cruz is but minutes away and every convenience known to man is nearby with a ten percent sales tax. The RV park packs you in like sardines sans olive oil. Your tow car will not fit on your site and they run out of overflow parking around five p.m. They don't seem to object to us parking our tow car in the road. It does make it other people's problem however. There are lots of long-timers with their children who are easy to run over if you are not diligent. This is most likely a corollary of the housing expense in the area. The sites are all 30-amp, full hookup. However, the water pressure can drop to nothing as will the electrical voltage. Our solution for the former was to fill our water tank all day - there is a little water pressure - and run our water pump for showers and cooking. The former problem was solved by running our generator. At $82 a night it does seem they want a lot for very little. On the other hand, the pool looks nice and the hot tub hot. We would not return unless we had to for family reasons. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is located within a residential setting. Very low tree clearance at the entrance and had to go in the exit for additional clearance. Everything is tight in this park. We were instructed to keep the entire RV including slides within the white lines...which was impossible. We were told that the fire marshall would ask us to move our RV if we didn't stay in the lines. No one was within the lines. Hard to navigate our 32' fifth wheel into our site but just fit. Not enough room for our truck and hung over into the street, which makes it challenging for others to navigate. Lots of permanent folks with lots of kids loose in the park. We were ok but just watch when driving around. Pool, spa, laundry and bathrooms were in good shape and in working order. Good location for exploring Santa Cruz, Pacifica to Carmel but very expensive! Might stay here again if we didn't have other options. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Really great restaurants right around the corner...Mallonies (great food, poor service) and Aunt Mames cafe for a terrific breakfast.

This park is almost entirely full-time residents, but there is a small section of pull-through sites for "transients". These were very narrow and barely long enough for our 34-foot 5th wheel with the truck parked sideways in the road. The park is very convenient to the town of Scotts Valley and a 15-minute ride to downtown Santa Cruz. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and the cute town of Felton are 10 minutes away.

As a base camp for exploring the area, this is pretty good, though we prefer the state park campgrounds down on the beach, which are quite nice, or the yacht harbor RV park. The pool is nice, though it can get crowded on weekends since lots of kids live here. Even with the Thousand Trails discount, this place is quite expensive, but typical for the greater Bay Area. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not our kind of place. Cramped spaces, neighbors entry faced ours so thru us together so absolutely no privacy. Lots of kids so it was noisy as we were right by the pool. No place to walk outside park. Staff was extremely helpful and went the extra mile for us. Internet was not good. Sites were holy, not level. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The $20 rate reflects the RPI rate including tax. The park is an older park with a lot of long term residents. Our site was a pull-thru with full hookups, cable TV and a picnic table. The sites are somewhat tight so there is not a lot of space separating you from your neighbor which is not necessarily a bad thing if you like to "visit". There are a lot of trees providing shade and a nice setting. The park is far enough off of the freeway so there is very little road noise. Evidently this park was taken over as it is a lot nicer than the previous review. It is a TT/Encore Resort and has a nice pool, spa, laundry room, clean restrooms & showers. There are wineries nearby and the trip down to the pier in Santa Cruz & Boardwalk is a must. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is old and run down with about 75% of the park being Long Term Residents. We saw the police several times in the park. The manager is there one day a week for about 4 hours. They do not spend any money maintaining this park. The Wi-Fi did not work. The Laundry room and Bathrooms are dirty. The hook-ups are very old and worn. The sites are very narrow. Tight park to move around in.

Also, use caution as there are a lot of young children running around unsupervised. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great staff. Small, old park that needs updating. Plenty of shade but tight quarters between rigs. Lots of resident rigs, far too much dog barking. Convenient to nearby attractions, not much in Scotts Valley but nice town. Not much for kids but pool and rec room, the sauna is nasty. Priced right, but big rigs have limited room to maneuver. Part of ENCORE organization. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

The park needs upgrading and has numerous resident rigs. Had to stand on my head to plug in my electrical. The sites are tight, but you can get in with a little manuevering. The residents seem to use the spa as a tub. The staff was very helpful. Many trees and it was hard to get satellite, but the cable TV was good. It was convienent and I would stay here again. Follow the directions to enter the park. The turns are very tight and a left turn is easier than a right turn. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was advertised as an Encore Resort, but it is certainly not a resort and is in deteriorating condition. Many long term residents who are allowed to break all the rules, including letting their dogs into the pool area. The restrooms were not properly cleaned with the same mop used to swab around the toilets, then clean the showers without any disinfectant. There are not a lot of choices in the area, so apparently they do not think they have to maintain any standards, but we found it disgusting and will not return. Our 2nd stay here. Lots of redwoods, kind of level sites. WiFi was pretty good, Cable is great. Some site are bigger then others, we had trouble fitting in between the trees and getting our slides out. Very pretty setting, close to town but very quite. We will be back. We've stayed at this park several times. The staff are very helpful and last time suggested that we look into READY CAMP GO (which is a camp club for folks who travel a lot) and if we joined, we could save 1/2 on our rate for the night. Santa Cruz RV Park became an Encore camp, which is part of a group like Camp Club or Passport where members can get a lower rate if they travel enough to make it worthwhile. This campground is in a terrific location to visit the redwoods, Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk, the Monterey Peninsula and the San Jose and San Francisco area. The cable TV is good and the WiFi is also very good. Good restaurant to visit in Scotts Valley if you like a good barbecue place is Bruno's. We would stay here again. I am giving SC Ranch a middle of the road review because as a "Resort" it is very cluttered and filled with children running about. Lots of families living here full time and the management allows anything and everything to be stored near your RV - it's very low rent looking for a resort. The management is very nice and easy going, they even let us pick our own site. Lots of shade - actually too much shade for us as the weather is quite cool in the spring. The sites are extremely close together - almost slide to slide. We have stayed here three times and will be back in the future. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I've stayed here twice, I will stay here again. The park is older, but well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rate is a bit high, but is in line with real estate prices and rents in this area. The location is very central to everything and although there is some background noise due to proximity to the freeway I never really noticed it. Above all the staff were amazing. They made the stay that much more pleasant. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was an older park now owned by Encore. The sites were on the small side, but did have a picnic table. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to over stay the check out time so we could attend our granddaughters college soccer game which ended at 1:30 and check out was 12:00. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Santa Cruz Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.
