1 Park near Shingle Springs, California
Apr 2016 - $50.00
After reading previous reviews we were a little concerned about our stay but found none of the issues of previous reviews. We found it easily and staff was helpful & courteous. The location is very convenient. The spot was pretty level but a bit tight - because the sites are smaller those with trucks/cars often are parking in the road. Lots of trees but none seemed in the way. The wifi worked great. The pool & hot tub were not open yet. Lovely pond with ducks and geese - a horse farm nearby - very nice ambiance. - Catsinatrailer

I'm writing this review without the "free" WiFi, because it is so slow I can only barely load my email. This page times out whenever I try to post my review; this is my third try, tethered to my iPhone this time. We requested one of their new "big rig" sites with 50 AMPS. These sites are all directly next to the freeway, and unbelievably, have no sewer hook-up. The quiet loop up behind the office is almost completely full of full-timers. The cable features 6 completely un-viewable stations. Their own handout states "If you're real fortunate, in the right space, and it's working right, you can watch our homemade cable." I can only assume that the cable is pirated from this claim of "homemade". Coming from the West, the highway sign reads "KOA", then in small letters, "Second Exit". This is the first time I've seen a highway service sign before an exit refer to a service that is at the following exit. I exited at the sign, and got hopelessly lost on narrow winding two-lane roads in the hills for an hour. Fun. The only compelling reason I can see to stay here is if you have no other option. The fee of $54, with KOA discount, for a loud site with no sewer seems excessive to me. The manager is, however, very friendly. - Pdx discovery

We stayed three nights at this park. At check in the employee was very pleasant and professional and the store appears well stocked. Our space was a pull thru with water and electric only. When we stayed here several years ago we were told that most of these sights would be getting sewer hook ups soon. Apparently hasn't happened yet. I also felt that the space was overpriced given the lack of sewer facilities.
We used the free shuttle to get to and from the Red Hawk Casino and found it to be ver convenient. - Mike 9843
