I'll have to echo the previous reviewer. This isn't a pretty place. Sites are not well defined except by the electric post and we ended up with someone about three feet behind us. The place is terribly rundown but with the PA rate it made for a decent stopover on our way to Death Valley. Bathrooms in the campground are weird; three toilets and no dividers but you can lock the main door. Bring all the drinking/cooking water you'll need for your stay and bring firewood as it is $10/bundle (!) here. There are no fire rings in the CG but you can make your own with rocks. Pahrump is only a 30 minute drive away and you can get wood at Albertson's or TSC for a decent price. We used the private hot tub which was only $10/hour of you're a camper. The public pools (separate for male and female) are included in your camping cost. Showers are pull chain and there is only one hook for your things. We camped at Tecopa Hot Springs Campground and Pools in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tecopa Brewing Co. is about half a mile up the road. Good pulled pork sandwiches. Death Valley Brewing is in Tecopa, about 3 miles away. Neat place with a skeleton motif decor.

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

The PA price is very reasonable. One must factor in the extremely remote location however when rating the facility. Basic, clean, friendly staff, and a very nice hot springs at the end of Death Valley, but nothing fancy. The park is run by the county, albeit limited resources as counties go. The hot springs pools are unique as there is one separate pool for gals and one for men, both clothing optional. My wife and I opted for the privacy of the one personal pool they have which is rented by the hour and not included in the nightly fee. Neither of us could see soaking separately. The private pool is available first come serve and was squeaky clean but primitive cement block, but had total privacy. They drain and clean it after each use which we appreciated. Really a nice soaking small pool of 104 degree mineral water. As others have said there is NO fresh water in the town, we filled our tank before coming and were fine. The restrooms only have hot mineral water in all the faucets which was a little weird. Overall we were very pleased (for what it is) and would stay there again. We camped at Tecopa Hot Springs Campground and Pools in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This camping experience is certainly not for everyone. The main (only?) reason to camp here is the hot springs. The first thing to be aware of is that you will want to arrive with all of the fresh water that you will need for your stay. The water all comes from the hot springs source. The factors that make it great for soaking, make it not so great for putting into your rig. It is high in mineral content and alkaline, giving it a strong laxative effect. The alkalinity also quickly corrodes plumbing and fixtures. So, the best bet is to bring all of the water you will need. This used to be a county park but fell into disrepair. It is now run by a conservancy that has improved the springs considerably, but not so much the campground. The campground is a not overly attractive field with some long term and some trashed camping units, along with folks like us visiting for a few days. So do it for the water and not for the view. Check in is at the hot springs across the street from the campground and is open 24 hours every day. We had 30 amp hookup and used our tank water only for drinking and cooking. Other than that we used the bath house. There is no cell service. The campground does have WiFi for a fee, but it is quite expensive, so we did not use it. You can also pick up slow internet at the clubhouse in the campground. Satellite is not a problem. The hot springs are described below. The price is certainly right since use of the hot springs, typically $7 per person per day, comes with camping. We would definitely come back to enjoy the hot springs for a few days. We camped at Tecopa Hot Springs Campground and Pools in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are separate men's and women's soaking areas. There is a private tub that can be rented by the hour for an additional charge. No clothes are allowed in the hot tubs. The shower stalls and restrooms are also located in the same area. The drill is to strip, shower, and soak.
