The park is grassy and mostly level sites. Water and electric worked though the 30amp at our site was out. They have adapters available if you need one. The WiFi didn't work as advertised, in fact, I couldn't get on at all in the evening and the next morning the signal was so weak that nothing would load. There was no cell service either. BUT, after dark, the sky is incredible, so many stars to see and it is quiet except for the distant train at 2am. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained small RV Park. It is everything the park's website promised. Good wifi, green grass sites, & quiet. It is at the south gateway to Lava Beds National Monument and Captain Jack's Stronghold. Also, Medicine Lake and Glass Mountain are less than 30 miles away. Come with all the food and fuel you'll need because there are no real services within an hour drive. When in the area again we will stay here. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small park off the beaten path with nice grassy spots and full hookups. We were very happy with the park until checkout. They have a system that you pay for electricity used as you check out. The owner apparently doesn't like to get moving before 8 a.m. So if you want to leave early, you incur his wrath. And it was not pretty. We were 10 minutes early and he was rude and angry and told us to never come back. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were greeted by lots of little butterflies on the gravel drive. I haven't seen these types of gatherings before. After exiting highway 139 on Cty Rd 97, the road surface is great. Continue on to the signs to Eagle's Nest on the left. Drive pass the Hawk's Nest RV Park (appears to have dirt lots from the road) and turn left. Shortly after the road becomes unpaved, you will enter Eagle's Nest. You may be met at the gate by the owner on a golf cart, if not, pick your spot and park and you will be contacted at your site. The fee does not include electricity, the meter is read and you pay when you leave and the electric use calculated. AT&T had no service, the Verizon MiFi had three bars and the camp provided Wifi was pretty good. We didn't bother with Dish or OTA TV. The grass was nicely maintained and we enjoyed sitting outside for dinner. Flies were mentioned in an older review, but were not an issue this time of year. We never found any plumbed restroom or shower, although there was an porta-potty which we didn't use. We just stayed one night so we didn't take in any of the area attractions this time. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is PAST a park with a similar name, the Hawk's Nest RV Park. The owners of this park are exceptionally nice and helpful people. They are full of information on the area. The park consists of a beautiful grassy area with all pull through sites of adequate space. Each site has a tree, may 12 feet high and 2 inches at the base, so some effort to provide shade has been made. The utilities worked well. Of special note is that the Wi Fi has been excellent. So many RV parks are poor in this area. We use internet access to make our further travel plans, so this is important to us. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

What a wonderful campground. We were warmly greeted at the gate by the owner and invited to choose any open site and set up. Green grass everywhere, so inviting.

We had planned to only stay one night and head out early to continue on our way. After talking to Craig and learning of all the interesting places to visit nearby we decided to stay another night. We will definitely be back so we can explore the areas we missed.

Eagles Nest is a very peaceful place and gives you the opportunity to observe a sky at night overflowing with stars.

The owners, Craig and Barbara are on site and a wealth of information for the area. They are also beautiful, down to earth people. Can't wait to pass this way again. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I agree with all the raving reviews. Nice owners, grassy sites, room for big rigs to maneuver, everything works. Good Wifi. A short drive (14 miles) to Lava Beds National Monument. No road noise, trains in the distance occasionally, no light pollution so you can see the stars. We were going to stay one night and stayed 4 instead. We'll come back! We've stayed here many times on our trips north and south. Eagle's Nest is one of our favorite parks. It is 29 miles south of Tule Lake, CA.

This is a quiet and peaceful park, with beautiful views. There are two rows of RV spots, all on grass with full hook up with 50 amp. This isn't a little strip of grass next to gravel. This is a completely grass park, with gravel roadways. The owners live on site and are friendly and welcoming.

Do not get confused by the fact that there are two RV parks on this little road. Eagle's Nest is the original. It's the farther one down the road.

This would be a great park for families visiting Lava Beds. Bring the kids bikes. They'll have a great time in Eagle's Nest. There are goats and a small kid's playground. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is just off Highway 139. The turn off is County Road 97. If you're heading north, look for the sign for the Lava Beds National Monument. Same turn off. (There might be a more northern turn off for Lava Beds, so if heading south, make sure to turn at Co Rd 97.) Don't completely trust your GPS once on Co Rd 97.

There in NOTHING is Tionesta, so fill up on fuel before you get there. The nearest gas is 30 miles away. Nearest diesel and propane is in Klamath Falls, 60 miles away. There are two RV Parks right next to each other. You have to drive through Hawk's Nest RV Park to get to Eagle's Nest RV Park. It is very quiet, not near any highways or train tracks. Wifi is excellent. No cable, but antenna picks up all major networks. Owners and their helper are very hands on and some of the nicest people you'll meet. When our son's bike was stolen at a campground in Redding, the owner pulled a bike out of her storage shed, fixed a flat tire, adjusted the seat, and brought it over for him to ride around while we were there. There is a little playground and a couple of very friendly goats. This is a great place to visit Lava Beds National Monument (14 miles away), or explore the volcanic mountains surrounding the area. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We've been coming here for years and will return again as long as possible. The park is clean and roomy with tons of space to roam. Pet friendly and the owners live on site. They provide maps of the area and recommendations regarding places to go and eat and visit. We're treated like one of the family. They have special weekly rates as well as monthly.

Pull through spaces with power, water and sewer to all campsites. All sites are grass which is nice. Go PAST the first RV park to the end of the road and you won't be disappointed. It's a great place to camp. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great fishing at Medicine Lake only a few miles away. Tons of deer, sometimes in camp, antelope and quail. Ducks and geese at Tule Lake and Klamath. Caving at the Lava Beds and great hiking trails. You can spend as much time as you'd like and never get bored.

Try Captain Jack's restaurant for meals. Great place where you'd never expect to find one.

Overall Rating:

This is a really nice little park in the middle of nowhere. At least it seems like know where until you start looking around. You're within driving distance to Lava Beds N.M., Medicine Lake and Glass Mountain. Be aware that there are no services of any kind for 18 miles so come well stocked. We thought this would be a 1 night stop over but stayed 4 nights. All sites are pull through and are all grass, even where you park. And this is really nice grass. A nice surprise for high desert and pine trees. There is a decent amount of distance between sites. Access to and movement throughout the park is easy even for large rigs although you'll be driving slowly after leaving the highway due to rough pavement. The sites are somewhat level. We used 3 blocks in the front to level. Not a problem. The water and sewer are located at the back and the electrical pedestal is toward the middle. A nice touch for those whose power is further forward. Their wifi is some of the best I've seen and our Verizon 4G worked well as did satellite. The owners are very nice, accommodating and laid back. The regular rate of $22 per night for full hookups (we paid $20 with Good Sam discount) is a steal. You pay separately for your electrical, just 20 cent per kilowatt. So use as much or as little as you want. Great park if you have a dog. They have a lot of land to walk on but also back up to Forest Service land to explore. We definitely will be back. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Peaceful, quiet park. Two rows of grassy sites, good size, fairly level. Wi-Fi was slow, but worked. Verizon cell phone worked fine. There were flies, but not too bothersome. Easy access to Lava Beds NM; the visitor center is about 15 miles away. Tule Lake NWR is also nearby for excellent bird watching. Nearest diesel gas is in Merrill, OR, about 35 miles away, a Shell station, entry in the back. Owners live on site and are extremely friendly. I did not see or use showers or laundry. Pet friendly. There is an additional charge for electricity used, ours was $2.46 for 2 nights. Enjoyed our stay. We camped at Eagle's Nest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
