Park is on dirt for roads and sites. Was advertised as Good Sam but no longer since Jan 2018. Since there has been lots of rain, everything was very muddy. Only stayed for 1 night, we have small dogs and the park was a nightmare with the mud. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Motorhome.

If you are looking for a "resort" CG this is not the place for you which is exactly what we like. The staff are extremely friendly and aim to please. This park is small and quiet (except the 101 which is right behind the CG). They have a nice dog park. This park is old but well cared for. Beautiful Redwoods. The WiFi is free but slow and intermittent. The cable had a lot of channels. The tent sites are gorgeous and they have a section called pop up circle that was beautiful. We didn't have a chance to visit the surrounding area because we can't leave our dogs. Spaces are big and private. There are what appear to be permanent "campers" but posed no problem. The cabins are adorable. The little store does not have food but they did have firewood, propane and ice. We will definitely return. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This was a very shady campground surrounded by magnificent Redwoods. We had a 30 amp FHU back in site. The roads are tight and there are a lot of trees to watch out for but I was able to manage in my 34ft class A. The location was good to hang out on nice beaches. The laundromat nearby (suds and duds) was 1 of the best we've seen in over a year of travels. Cell service was non existent until I hooked up my WeBoost booster and at that point I had good Verizon (14mb d/l) and ATT was 3.9 d/l boosted. They had free wifi which was decent but as with most campgrounds it slowed down during peak times. The grounds were clean but there are a number of what appeared to be permanent residents with run down trailers. The staff was extremely friendly. Every person I came across had a smile and a friendly hello for us and our doggies. This is a dog friendly area where dogs are allowed off leash on the beach and there are nice walking areas in the campground. If I were in the area again, I would stay here again. The only negative was the 30 amps were weak and looked old and in need of an upgrade. I tripped the breakers multiple times which doesn't normally happen to me on 30amp while being careful to manage my usage to 1 appliance at a time. The casino nearby was also a nice activity for the afternoon. Access Location Cleanliness Site Quality Noise 1bars AT&T 4G 1bars Verizon 4G We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed our time here for three nights. The RV sites are mostly level and easy to get into. The park is full of very large redwood trees, which makes it unique. Because of the trees, there isn't satellite TV, but they do have cable. We had good Verizon coverage. I would have rated it higher, except it was very dusty. This isn't a resort and it is more of a campground. I would stay here again. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 2 nights. This review is not negative. The park was not for us. The spaces are not level and very muddy. The trees are a problem but not if one drives careful. There were many folks enjoying the park and most were those that have been there many times. Kids having fun with their family. There are some folks that live there. Polite managers. We will not go back but that is our choice. The best of wishes to the management. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Fifth Wheel.

We only stayed 2 nights. Back in parking for our 25ft was easy once we were in the right spot. Staff was helpful. WIFI and AT&T didnt work in the trees very well. We had no problems with the camp ground. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park in the Redwoods! Nice, well-shaded lots with big redwood trees. Mix of cabins and RV sites, and tent section. Store/office hours were very good--open until midnight! We loved it here. Wifi was spotty. Nice little restroom "bathhouse". Trinidad is a great oceanside town. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Travel Trailer.

We thought this was the best RV park in the area. Wanted FHU in the Redwoods and that is what we got. The area is gorgeous. Far enough away from sketchy Eureka. Bathrooms clean, dog friendly. Staff was OK... had a question about laundry- i.e dry time ( important when travelling with a family) and got some attitude from Mgr. Very strange. 1 washer/ 1 dryer. Spot 90 is good pull thru spot on the end.
We will come back. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park with lots of trees. Site 93 was a spacious pull thru, clean and relaxing. Play area for the kids. Highway 101 was a little close to our site but noise was tolerable. Nearest garbage was a little far but seen this before. I would stay again but want to try nearby parks next time. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Convenient park for visiting Trinidad. Located in large, second growth redwoods but dusty at times. Campsites are a bit odd shaped and squeezed in due to tree layout. Wifi was acceptable. There was only one shower/toilet room for about 20 spaces in our area. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Travel Trailer.

The campground setting is very beautiful, with sites set among redwoods. The hookups were good. We did hear HWY 101 noise. The restroom floors needed a good cleaning and paint job. We just stayed one night and took a ride over to Patricks Point State Park, which was a brief but very beautiful visit with short hikes to outstanding coastal scenery. Be sure to see the lighthouse in Trinidad too. Getting around inside with the RV is super tight and the roads need some serious grading. Because of this and the restroom issue, we would try another park next time. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Travel Trailer.

Stunning park. Sites are in among the redwoods, I found myself just staring at the trees. Some noise from Hwy 101, but not bad. Park manager was very friendly and helpful. Good utilities, strong Wi-Fi. Close to seaside sightseeing. Slight downgrade for tight entry road. Been here before, will come again. We camped at Emerald Forest Cabins & RV in a Motorhome.
