We stayed here to explore Patrick's Point State Park, where our rig wouldn't fit. PPSP is worth a full day of hiking and hanging out.
We had a back in site with lots of room to maneuver. Power didn't work when we plugged in, but the owner fixed the problem within a few minutes. Everything else worked fine. Little privacy on all sites. You hear the surf and the sea lions, hence the name. There is a well equipped exercise room and you can book a private trainer if you want. Sounds of the Sea is a small RV park with reasonable prices, therefore we'll stay again when in the area. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Keeping in mind this is "Sounds of the Sea", not "Sights of the Sea', we were not disappointed. We had a premium site with a deck and a swing chair (53d if you want to request it). The sounds of the surf and the sea lions were great! There is a little bit of view through the trees, and we could see the sea lions on a big rock below. The grounds were well kept and the lady who checked us in was very friendly. It's a short walk to Patrick's Point State Park, which is a big bonus. This friendly park has level gravel sites, attractive landscaping, an incredible exercise room, clean laundry/restrooms and sea lions barking in the distance. The water pressure was low but adequate, electric worked well, cable television was excellent, the wifi was slow and inconsistent but AT&T phone and data worked well in the area. The road south of the park remains very rough so approaching from the north (Patrick’s Point Drive) is important. The drive into the park is slightly narrow but room to maneuver within the park was good. The cost reflects the weekly rate. We would stay here again. The park was very near the ocean and we could here the sea lions. We found the bath facilities to be "dated" and lacking in some respects. The John doors had no locks. The shower stalls/drying areas had no hooks or benches to put your towels and clothes on so you had to leave everything in the outer space. The waste bins were filled to the brim, obviously not one days trash, leaving me to wonder about the cleaning. For the ladies room, the main door was coming away from the hinges and door left wide open (inviting bugs, etc). WiFi - couldn't get service. We use Good Sam - question the ratings for this park. This is a very quiet, well cared for park with friendly management. It is located close to Patricks Point with easy freeway using the Patrick's Point State Park exit off of Highway 101. Sites on lower level are on gravel base with very small areas of grass. Some sites are larger than others, however the one we stayed in allowed minimal room (< 5') between ourselves and adjoining trailers. There was a small picnic table on a cement slab at the rear of our trailer, however it was in 3 feet of the adjoining trailer hook up and sewer system. Many sites are 30 amp only, however since the weather was cool we did not need 50 amp service. Internet access is free with a code, however during periods of peak use it was inaccessible. Cable TV was adequate. Verizon service is very limited. The best sites are back in with a partial ocean view and small patio. These seem to be mostly used by overnight guests. We would use this park again only if we could have the back in site with patio as there was no outdoor seating space at our site at all. There is no dog run and very limited space to walk dogs. The park was extremely quiet, and had a nice fish cleaning station as well as a shared fire ring. This is a spacious park that combines a nice setting with excellent amenities. We had a site that backed up to a small patio with a swing and a view of the ocean through the trees. We had strong 50-amp electric, good water pressure and sewer. Although we had a cable hookup we didn’t use it because our spot had easy satellite acquisition. The wifi was free and adequate. There is plenty of space for maneuvering big rigs. Trinidad is a nice little community and nearby Patrick’s Point State Park has some great views. Very clean and well-kept RV park. Good Sam rate for full hookup, back-in. Site was level, gravel, with a picnic table. Quiet at night. WiFi worked great. Lots of cable TV channels. About a 1/2 mile walk to the State Park entrance, unless you choose to drive. Use the north exit off Hwy-101, as the road is rough coming from the south. Of the ten or so RV parks we have stayed at in the past month on our travels up the coast of California and Oregon, this park, by far, was the best overall. The owners live on the property and tend to it well. If there are any long term residents, it's not evident. The showers and laundry facilities are clean and pleasant. The WiFi is super fast. The gym was a pleasant surprise, with all machines in working order. We were offered a cash rate of $33 per night for full hookups, but I would pay more and I have, for much less. We will stay here again. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This was a great choice and we liked it so much that we stayed for the entire week. We spent a couple of nights in the spot close to the ocean which are shaded and then moved to a spot on the lower level in the back row. Both sites were spacious and fairly level. The park is well maintained and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. It was one of the most quiet parks that I have stayed in! The rate reflected a Good Sam discount. We will definitely be back. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a very nice clean RV park. We enjoyed the views and the sounds of the sea lions barking. We easily walked to Patrick's Point SP. We used the showers, which were very clean. Considering the price of some places in the area, this was a gem! Only drawback was people a few spaces down had left their dog in their RV and it barked all afternoon - annoying, but not really the park's fault! We really liked this park. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The grounds are lush, carved out of the redwood forest and wild blackberry thicket. Most of the sites are large, can accommodate the largest RVs, and have large grassy lawns adjacent. Only a few spots (the pull through spots on the lower level) are not spacious. Sites are leveled gravel pads. You can glimpse the ocean from most of park and hear the sea lions barking, as well. Wi-Fi was pretty good, except in the rain. Laundry was clean with newer HE washers and dryers. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $45.00
Rate reflects current Good Sam rate for a "premium" site on the lower level. These sites are closest to the ocean and well shaded, although more tightly packed than the "less premium" sites further back on the same level. There was little road noise and lots of sea lion sounds. It appears that about half the park is full timers and rental park models, but all are well kept. The staff was very friendly and the restrooms were clean though in need of some upgrading and repairs (plywood covering skylight openings). Some sites have small wooden decks; ours had a ocean view half round table made from a slice of a large old redwood tree. Nature path/dog walking area is several loops of grass mowed through the blackberries, and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed all the smells. We would definitely stay again. We were on the lower level, good spacing between sites, level gravel. WiFi and cable TV worked great. Restrooms - showers were clean , need some hooks in the shower area. Quiet at night and grounds were very clean. Exercise room available. Exit Hwy 101 at #734 as road south of RV park is in bad shape. Friendly staff, we stayed three nights. Clean park. Sites for big rigs are too small. Not easy to get into the site or get out. Site Narrow. Nice location. Nice host. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This is an average park. Internet and cable worked great but the hot tub was not working. We had deer walk through the site next to us and we could hear the sea lions. It was easy in and out. It was a bit of a walk down the road to get to the state park trails. We would camp here again. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
