Living in the north Sacramento Valley, we usually head for the coast during summer months. This is a very nice, very quiet and well kept park. Only draw back and the park has not control over the weather, but even in summer it can get very cool. So much so that some days you can't sit outside with out a heavy jacket. But when the weather is right it's extremely nice. A few spots (increased cost) actually overlook the ocean. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice restaurants in Trinidad, CA. State Park just down the road where you can hike to the ocean. Short drive up Hwy 101 to Lady Bird Johnson Park with beautiful trails (Walking) through the Redwoods.

First, do not use GPS to find. It will take you down a terrible road. Best entrance is Exit 734 off 101, drive south. Pull-thrus are few and very narrow. Small park, with limited services, but great for an overnight - very quiet except for the ocean! Owner is very nice. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites were close together. From the website it seems the park is closer to the ocean. We didn't hear the sounds of the sea during our stay. Wifi didn't work very well. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, fairly spacious, level sites. Trees blocked the view of the ocean, but could hear the barking of the seals pretty much all the time! Very enjoyable!

Rough side road from main highway to campground. The hike from campground to beach access is greater than the 20-30 minutes we were told! We wished we had taken a beverage along for the hike, had we known! We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

After a mechanical problem delayed us, they were very nice to stay open an extra 1/2 hour until we arrived. A very quiet park and clean. A few back in sites have shade and partial ocean view, but most are open, narrow gravel sites. We had no problem getting 35' Motorhome into our pull through site and did not have to unhook. Nice to have cable and WiFi. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very quiet park with both shaded (premium) and open sites. Ocean view sites have patio, table, fire pit ; Regular sites have table. Utilities are at back but reachable (at least in premium sites). Good AT&T cellular and Verizon data. Good pet walking area. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Best entrance is from the north (road from south not in good shape): Enter from Hwy 101 exit 734 and drive south. Patricks Point S.P. is nearby (walkable) and has excellent ocean views and trails. Moonstone Grill has good food and great views.

Three levels at this park. Counting all the spaces it could be considered a medium size park. Very few pull-through sites and very narrow. Virtually no space on either side but easy to get into and out. Ample room for back-ins. Park is clean and appears to be well maintained. Wi-Fi is OK but not great. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is close enough to the shoreline that you do hear the surf and the sea lions. Spaces are pretty close together. A few sites farthest to the west are very shaded and have a few of the ocean (assuming no fog) but most are pretty open. The folks that own and run the park are working hard on it and are very helpful. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 3 days. The drive in is no problem. When we arrived the office had booked us for the wrong month, but corrected the error and ensured we still had a spot for the entire 3 days. Getting into the pull through a with a 40 footer was a bit of a challenge as turning is tight. Also their website says all sites can see the ocean. Actually only about 6 can and they are taking be locals. The park is only a 10 walk down to Patrick state park which is beautiful. We also went the few miles south to the town of Trinidad which is a quaint little town. The grounds were clean as well as the laundry room. The locals that stay there for the summer were very open to others that were just passing through. Last note make sure you only use the access road from the north from the 101 as the road south of the park is very rough. We didn't even like driving it without the rig. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sounds of the sea are the waves and the sea lions. Pull through site are very close. My slide came out almost over the sewer connection for the site next to me. It was easy to get in and out of the pull through for our 39 ft 5th wheel. There are two levels with back in sites up top and some back in sites on the bottom level. Owners are very helpful. I would stay again. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Small park. Our site backed up to a deck and a view through the trees of the ocean and a large rock covered with seals or sea lions. You could hear the surf and the seals barking. We were in 53d. Cable didn't work, and they came right over and fixed it. Trinidad is a darling little town to visit. Stayed here to visit the Redwood forest. We would stay here again. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wide, level, gravel sites, some with grass area. Picnic table, very few with fire pits. Owners were friendly and helpful. Cash discount is available on top of Good Sam. WiFi worked good, many cable TV channels. Park is clean and well maintained. Quiet at night. Not much for kids here. Exit off Hwy-101 at #734, as southern exit approach is windy and rough road. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here to explore Patrick's Point State Park, where our rig wouldn't fit. PPSP is worth a full day of hiking and hanging out.

We had a back in site with lots of room to maneuver. Power didn't work when we plugged in, but the owner fixed the problem within a few minutes. Everything else worked fine. Little privacy on all sites. You hear the surf and the sea lions, hence the name. There is a well equipped exercise room and you can book a private trainer if you want. Sounds of the Sea is a small RV park with reasonable prices, therefore we'll stay again when in the area. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
