Over the past week I have come to the conclusion that this RV park was probably very nice in the 1990's, but little has been done since that time. The blackberry vines overgrow everywhere and crowd many sites. Paint is peeling and wood rot is evident. We keep thinking what a nice RV park it could be if effort and some profits were being reinvested. WHATEVER YOU DO USE THE PATRICK'S POINT EXIT OFF 101, otherwise you are in for quite a surprise of tree dodging and very rough gravel roads. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go see Redwoods State and National Parks. Dogs are not welcome in all Ca. State Parks so get the brochure at Patricks Point State Park just down the road. McKinleyville and Eureka are convenient for shopping.

Pull through spaces a little close together compared to other spaces in the park but length was adequate. Pull through are sunny; some other spaces have some shade. Clean & quiet, could hear the sea lions sometimes but not the surf. Could sort of see parts of the ocean in between the trees from a few of the spaces. A little disappointed but no real complaints. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nearby Trinidad was a nice little town to visit. Public beach was fairly clean (some seaweed & stuff). Nearby State Park was nice, beach access required climbing.

This is probably the nicest rv park in Trinidad. The five premiun ocean front sites are really nice, but the view is very filtered by trees. You can hear the ocean and sea lions when they are here. The pull through sites are very narrow, we could not put our awning out when we had neighbors. Most of the sites are permanent or seasonal renters. The park was quiet and well kept up. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The beaches near here are really nice. Trinidad is 6 miles away with three restaurants. McKinleyville, Arcata and Eureka are short drives away with many restaurants and shopping. This is a good base from which to visit the area.

First off you will not hear the sounds of the sea or see the sea, it is way across the road. Gravel and very skinny sites. We camped with another motorhome and could not walk between them. Not much grass and no amenities. Also, there is nothing in the area except for the Redwoods which are about 20 minutes away. Overall if you are just looking for a camping spot it will do but if you want to stay near the sea you might want to look somewhere else. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is horrible. Owner is beyond rude. False advertisement on website describing grounds. Sites are so tight cannot open awnings. Lack of grass for dogs. Poop hose from camper beside us right outside our door. Worst rv campground experience we've ever had. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wide, level, gravel sites. Picnic table and grass strip, a few with fire pits. Only exit off Hwy-101 at #734 (Patrick's Point), as southern exit (Seawood) approach is windy and a terrible road. Owners were friendly and accommodating. Cash discount is available on top of Good Sam. WiFi was good, many cable TV channels. Park is clean and well maintained. Quiet at night. Not much for kids here. Showers were old but clean, open room setting with shower curtain. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

When visiting the Redwoods NP area, we stayed at this small and quiet park right off 101. The sites are gravel, but very close to each other in the area they put us. They have a small bathroom and shower with a coin operated laundry room. The water pressure is extremely low and the WiFi does not work. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Living in the north Sacramento Valley, we usually head for the coast during summer months. This is a very nice, very quiet and well kept park. Only draw back and the park has not control over the weather, but even in summer it can get very cool. So much so that some days you can't sit outside with out a heavy jacket. But when the weather is right it's extremely nice. A few spots (increased cost) actually overlook the ocean. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice restaurants in Trinidad, CA. State Park just down the road where you can hike to the ocean. Short drive up Hwy 101 to Lady Bird Johnson Park with beautiful trails (Walking) through the Redwoods.

First, do not use GPS to find. It will take you down a terrible road. Best entrance is Exit 734 off 101, drive south. Pull-thrus are few and very narrow. Small park, with limited services, but great for an overnight - very quiet except for the ocean! Owner is very nice. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, fairly spacious, level sites. Trees blocked the view of the ocean, but could hear the barking of the seals pretty much all the time! Very enjoyable!

Rough side road from main highway to campground. The hike from campground to beach access is greater than the 20-30 minutes we were told! We wished we had taken a beverage along for the hike, had we known! We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

After a mechanical problem delayed us, they were very nice to stay open an extra 1/2 hour until we arrived. A very quiet park and clean. A few back in sites have shade and partial ocean view, but most are open, narrow gravel sites. We had no problem getting 35' Motorhome into our pull through site and did not have to unhook. Nice to have cable and WiFi. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very quiet park with both shaded (premium) and open sites. Ocean view sites have patio, table, fire pit ; Regular sites have table. Utilities are at back but reachable (at least in premium sites). Good AT&T cellular and Verizon data. Good pet walking area. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Best entrance is from the north (road from south not in good shape): Enter from Hwy 101 exit 734 and drive south. Patricks Point S.P. is nearby (walkable) and has excellent ocean views and trails. Moonstone Grill has good food and great views.

Three levels at this park. Counting all the spaces it could be considered a medium size park. Very few pull-through sites and very narrow. Virtually no space on either side but easy to get into and out. Ample room for back-ins. Park is clean and appears to be well maintained. Wi-Fi is OK but not great.
