Fees: $43 a night plus $8.60 tax. Site 13. 10% discount with AAA or Good Sam on pre-tax total. Full hookups This is a pleasant oasis in the California desert. The sites have some shade and full hook-ups. The wifi operates only in a couple of the buildings. There are a number of features, however, including a room with a pool table, a pool, a large activity room, horseshoe pits, a laundry room and shuffle board. There's a golf course right next to the campground. There are also cottages for rent here and what seemed to be some long-term residents. The restrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained. All in all a nice campground very close to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We chose this park over others in the area as it had a slightly better rating. The park is showing its age. It's a shame as the park layout works well for the perms, snowbirds and short term guests. It is a very friendly community. The staff were friendly and flexible as we turned a 2 night stay into 5 which included a weekend. The main item they need to fix is the internet. At present they only offer internet @ the office even though you can see towers throughout the site and observe various listings that used to work. The shape and size of the park should make this easy. We would however use the park again if in the area as it is convenient to Joshua Tree National Park and close to other services. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The golf next door is under new ownership and they appear to have a giant task to get the course back in shape. We played it but most of the greens are clumpy vegetation and most grass on the fairways was brown.

Very tight sites with vehicles parallel parked across from site. Had to park our truck on the patio, no other place to park. Staff was rude at check in: sent us out to get trailer plate number, then when we gave to him he said he did not need it.

Overall the place is old and run down: way over priced. Will never return here. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Definitely NOT a "resort". This is a below average park that is a parking lot with a few sad trees. Gravel rig parking, asphalt area with picnic table. Old, barely maintained and just sad. Plenty of room to have tow rig and second car but they wouldn't allow it - $25 for extra car and overflow parking was far from our site. Next to a water treatment facility (which you can't see but can sometimes smell). Golf course next door but 29 Palms is a seemingly dying town so again, just a sad place to be. Joshua Tree and Yucca are much better so go there instead! We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed at a back-in site with lots of tree coverage. The pull-through spots had no trees and were a little ways from many of the amenities. There are no individual firepits. There was a community firepit, but didn't look like it was active on Saturday. Actually, there was a lot of inactivity around there. I called a day before to make a reservation, they said you won't have to there are lots of spots available--pick of the litter--and there was. The store was excellent from my limited experience. The pool looked clean, but I prefer a more resort type outdoor pool with lounges. Our primary purpose for our stay was to be in close proximity to Joshua Tree and it served its purpose perfectly. I would stay here again for its location and overall experience. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed five nights, convenient location to go hiking in Joshua Tree NP. Heated pool and jacuzzi were welcomed after a long day of hiking. There is also a sauna and a gym, which we did not use. Park was clean, quiet, with trash pick up every morning. Lots of social activities (line dance lessons, poker night, stretching classes, aqua fitness, separate men's and women's golf rounds), but we did not participate in these. We would definitely stay here again. The only small downside was road noise from Amboy Road, which we were right next to. Very low traffic volume, and very quiet at night. But traffic did start up early in the morning, which was not an issue for us early risers. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Good location to stay if visiting the Joshua Tee National Park and you want to avoid driving the hills with your RV. We stayed only one night as a pit stop after being in the National Park and it was everything it needed to be. Level sites, good services, and a large laundry facility. Pricey, but California RV parks seem to pride themselves on overcharging for even the most basic of parks. Great place to stay, Now if only one could get rid of all the rednecks driving around with their ignorantly loud trucks you might actually feel like you are sleeping in the desert. This is a great camp and I would return. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites are well sized. I stayed in space #98 and I was happy with its size and location. I arrived late at night and that space was one of the easiest possible sites. Many sites have good shade trees. They have made some good investments here. The WI-FI worked great. The indoor pool was awesome. The indoor jacuzzi and sauna had plenty of room and they were all very clean. Next time I visit, I will try to get a space in the trees for shade and location. I would have given it a 10, but there was a plumbing problem the morning I was there AT MY SITE. The friendly staff quickly took care of the problem. I actually look forward to my return. The pull through spaces are tight, with no tables or fire pits. The staff is friendly and helpful. I did not use the indoor pool or showers. Problems that occurred with infrastructure were resolved with a refund of one night's fees. These folks work to keep up a good park, and if in the area would stay here again. Overall Rating:

This town is the gateway to Joshua Tree National Park. This RV park is an older resort/golf course, with a fair number of long-term residents associated with the big Marine base here. The main building is modern and in good shape. The Wi-Fi was free, functional, and worked pretty well. There is a huge indoor pool, a bit chilly, but very roomy. The restrooms and showers are nice (I am told that the stalls in the womens’ are quite narrow and small). The restroom facilities seem a bit minimal for the number of RV spaces; however, we experienced no delays. The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful, as were the townfolk. Many of the available lots are fairly small, with concrete pads and gravel on the remaining surface. The place is relatively quiet at night, although since it is on one of the access roads to the Marine base, there is some relatively early traffic, including at least one 5:00 AM motorcycle. We would be willing to stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on our way from Arizona to central California: glad we had only planned one night! The rate they charge for this place is way too high for what you get. We felt like we were parked in a sand and asphalt (uneven at that) parking lot. They have some permanent residents and small rooms/apartments with residents coming and going at all time of the day and night: very noisy. Park also backs up to a busy road which added to the noise. It appears that they are trying to upgrade, but they have a long way to go. This place looks nothing like the website, however it might just be because it is winter and there was very little greenery. Don’t know why the review site says no pets because they do take them and in fact have a dog walk area. We would stay here again only if we had to. Next time we will just go another way towards home and avoid this area all together. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Many things were very nice: staff was helpful, pool was well heated, there were beautiful flowers everywhere. But both my wife and I felt the park was quite run down. here were many older rundown rigs. The pool was heated but had many patches and in obvious need of an overhaul. Had we been paying $20 a night it may have been a bargain, but at $38 a night it is very overpriced. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Well this park was interesting to say the least. We used it as a hub to Joshua Tree. Lots of residents. More residents than campers. Staff was flighty but nice. Had our sewer hose stolen at this park. Had to wear a different color wrist band for each day to gain access to pool and rec room. No tables at camp site. WIFI down. No trash cans on property. You leave trash at your site and they come get. Sometimes it was not picked up till afternoon. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.
