Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

Booked a two-night stay starting on September 8, 2016. We reserved in advance and asked for premium site #44. They charge $25 extra to confirm a site. They asked what type of motorhome and we told them a Class A 36'. Arrived at 11:00am and were told check in was not until 1pm. Our site was visible from the check-in office so I pointed out that our site was vacant. She then checked us in. All the staff we dealt with at the park were actually very polite..

Our rate was $95 a night, plus 10% "Hotel Tax" and another $2.85 "Business Improvement Tax". All total, the nightly rate was $119.91. I think this park is outrageously expensive for what you get.

We were not able to hook up at site 44. The park has been improved and one of the changes is at some sites the hook-up post and sewer drain have been elevated on an approximate 1 1/2 foot concrete pad. Our Class A's sewer drain attaches underneath the RV and the hose cannot "go uphill" to an elevated pad to work effectively. We asked to move to a site that could accommodate our RV. We were told that the manager was out. After about 30 minutes this same young woman called my husband and said we could move to site 125. Please note this was a pull-through site but not a premium site nor in the better location but we agreed and moved.

This park is immediately adjacent to the US101 and extremely noisy. Motorcycles seem to be the worst. We had full-timers on either side. A large 42' Class A had to back in on the row behind us and had a difficult time maneuvering around our RV. This site was just large enough to accommodate our RV and tow vehicle. The park is surrounded by chain link fencing. I would not return to this park. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The city of Ventura has a terrible homeless problem and they are everywhere. Walking, on bicycles, pushing grocery carts, loitering, sleeping. The city beach is not good and there is no where to park your car. The beach is full of seaweed.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

I would rate this close to a 10 but it's so close to the 101 Freeway that makes the noise hard to really enjoy being outside. But it's a well run park. The staff made things EZ and were helpful. Pool and Hot spa were great. they have entertainment and lots of things for kids. Very family friendly and close to downtown Ventura. The camp also has a big military truck to take you/pick up in downtown. Can't miss it! They make you wear wristbands because they've had trouble with homeless people walking in and lock up your bikes and other nice things outside because things do get stolen here. But they have made investments in 24 hour security which is a reason the cost of coming here is pretty high. I would stay here again but would request spot on the southeast side of the camp. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

One of the most beautiful city halls in the country. Nice downtown. Buzy Bee's is good old time diner on main street. Have to pay for parking on Main Street but if you go east or west ... there is free parking behind many of the buildings. I didn't care for the beach near the pier. A LOT of seaweed.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

I am always reluctant to write a negative review but this place deserves it. Stayed over 4th of July and clearly the focus is on squeezing as much money as possible from the guests. Made reservations 7 months ahead for a "premium" site and was given a spot that barely fit my coach let alone my towed. RVs were jammed together wherever there was an open spot of ground. Constant traffic and commotion from people trying to maneuver through the narrow roads. Too many people, noise, smoke and dogs off leash. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It looks like I found my RV park/campground for those little weekend "mental health getaways" that may crop up now and then.

The Ventura Beach RV Resort is one nice little RV park that is only an hour's drive from Los Angeles. It is sandwiched between the 101 freeway and Ventura's Main Street.
This place has everything that one could want in an RV park:
Arcade
Recreation Room (pool tables and card tables)
Bike Rentals
Pool and Jacuzzi

Playground, horseshoes and Tetherball
Free Rides To Downtown Historic Ventura (they do ask for tips)
Pet Friendly (except pit bulls or any canine that resembles a pit bull)
Nicely Manicured Campsites (grass) with level pads, table and fire pit
Fully Stocked Store (more like a regular convenience store)
Laundry Room

The summer standard rate per night is $70.00 (there's also a 10% hotel tax). I've been to other RV "resorts" who charged more, but they looked like asphalt parking lots with a table and hook-ups. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Staff was great and had a fast check in. Also had a leaking hose bib and it was replaced in minutes. Traffic noise was not that bad from the freeway. Security is 24/7. The big wildfire was going on the second night we were there and the power went out. They kept us informed and said power would be on by 6:00; at 5:45 power was back on. nice park. Park is very clean, plenty of space between sites will stay here again. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $94.00
Overall Rating:

OK, first, the bad. I'm a newcomer to California RV campgrounds, but I think $90+ is extortion...the "+" being pretty much everything! $10 per day for extra vehicle or trailer, $25 for dump fee, $5 for water fill-up, $4 per day per pet They advertise a free shuttle downtown, but it only operates Saturday! Prices are $75 to $90, but all they say they have available is the $90. WiFi, but no cable. Road noise from 101 pretty bad all night.

Now the good. Parks well-maintained, grass round all the "Premium" slots, shade trees, pool & hot tub, fairly good WiFi (average 1.4GHz via "speedtest"), showers/bathrooms clean.

Conclusion. will not stay here again! I'd be leaving tonight except I booked online, & one of their many rules is "no refunds, no exceptions" We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ventura is about 1/2 hr away. Beach physically close, but over the 101, 25 minutes walk, or rent bicycle ($6 per 1/2 hr) Santa Barbara about 15 miles up coast. Feria Beach fairly close with beach side parking (not overnight).

We made the mistake of camping on the 4th of July weekend. It was a big catastrophe, rules were not enforced, people parked wherever they liked, rules state 6 people per site, I saw at least 30 on one site. We had reserved 3 sites together 5 months ago and paid extra for specific sites. When we arrived they had given one site to someone else. Their attitude was "too bad we'll put you somewhere else". There were parties going on until around 2 AM, told their security people, but never saw them come around. Its very apparent the owners are only concerned about making lots of money on a holiday weekend. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Over priced for starters , counter staff not friendly , security staff over the top rude and totally disrespectful, they single-handedly ruined our stay at this park. The park rules are more important than customer satisfaction. This was our 3rd try at this park and every time we have been disappointed. The park itself is good, but the problem is the people who manage this park . We are done , never going back ! We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a nice full-service campground with all the amenities. Compared to others, however, it's very expensive! Beach access is nearby, but you have to walk, bike, or drive under the 101 freeway to get there. You don't see it from the campground. Also, the freeway noise from the 101 is constantly noisy, but you get used to it. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

For the most part, this park gets negative reviews. Yep, you are right next to the freeway, but at our pull-through site about 3 rows back, it was white noise that I felt helped to mask the disturbances caused by other RVers. Road noise was no worse than many other parks we've stayed at. Yep, it is very pricey, but this is Ventura Beach area. I considered it 'fair market value'. And apparently many others did also! Mid-June, mid-week it was at least as crowded as the previous 2 coastal (albeit cheaper) parks we stayed at. And a whole heck of a lot nicer! It is a very attractive, very well maintained facility. No satellite TV interference at our site. Evidence of the removal of mature trees to facilitate today's larger, multi-slide units. There were a lot of different types of sites. The hook-ups at our pull-through were not designed for motorhomes, but were at the very back of the site. Having both the dinghy attached and taking advantage of said hook-ups would not have been possible. Great Wi-Fi. On the downside, the rules need to be proactively enforced. Too many dogs off leash. Motorized vehicles traveling too fast. And tow vehicles (always with a toy hauler) sticking out into the roadway. I didn't feel the sites were wide enough for the fire pits that many guests felt were necessary in mid-June. But we really liked the park. The many rule violating guests . . . not so much. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was my first and only visit to the RV Resort. Price is very expensive. Park charges extra for everything. Not worth the price. I asked if a spot was available and was told yes - then charged $25 for requesting spot.

If you have to cancel there is a $15 charge and if within 30 days, you lose your deposit.

Staff was not friendly, bored, and was distracted during check in.

After reading so many mixed reviews, I was somewhat reluctant to stay here. However, after the wife and daughter decided that staying at Rincon wasn't a good idea for keeping the dog from making a mess in our rig, we headed here. I can definitely see where depending on what part of the facility you stayed at can make quite a difference. As for our site, 52, I have no complaints. Noise wasn't an issue and space was adequate. Here were our negatives; expensive, charge for everything and LOTS of rules. The one that bugged me the most was having to wear wristbands during your stay. That being said, I can see the reason as the proximity to the beach and it's local homeless has the resort security guards constantly patrolling the perimeter. Verifying who belongs is easier with the bands than security questioning every guest. We only stayed one night and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I was a little nervous about staying here because I booked our site before reading all the mostly negative reviews. The only drag is the freeway noise. We were in site 106 and the freeway was only about 70 yards from us and was noisy, but you know that going in. I looked hard to try to find a rude employee, but did not. Store personnel and security guards were all helpful and cheerful. Security in golf carts patrolled all night. The hook-ups all worked flawlessly and the park seemed to be maintained well. The beach is a short 15 minute walk if you go through the Emma Wood side which is next door. We will stay here again but will opt for a more premium site. The double pull thru would have another RV backed in within a couple of feet of your rig. All in all a good experience and didn't mind spending the money to stay here. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
