For the most part, this park gets negative reviews. Yep, you are right next to the freeway, but at our pull-through site about 3 rows back, it was white noise that I felt helped to mask the disturbances caused by other RVers. Road noise was no worse than many other parks we've stayed at. Yep, it is very pricey, but this is Ventura Beach area. I considered it 'fair market value'. And apparently many others did also! Mid-June, mid-week it was at least as crowded as the previous 2 coastal (albeit cheaper) parks we stayed at. And a whole heck of a lot nicer! It is a very attractive, very well maintained facility. No satellite TV interference at our site. Evidence of the removal of mature trees to facilitate today's larger, multi-slide units. There were a lot of different types of sites. The hook-ups at our pull-through were not designed for motorhomes, but were at the very back of the site. Having both the dinghy attached and taking advantage of said hook-ups would not have been possible. Great Wi-Fi. On the downside, the rules need to be proactively enforced. Too many dogs off leash. Motorized vehicles traveling too fast. And tow vehicles (always with a toy hauler) sticking out into the roadway. I didn't feel the sites were wide enough for the fire pits that many guests felt were necessary in mid-June. But we really liked the park. The many rule violating guests . . . not so much. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was my first and only visit to the RV Resort. Price is very expensive. Park charges extra for everything. Not worth the price. I asked if a spot was available and was told yes - then charged $25 for requesting spot.

If you have to cancel there is a $15 charge and if within 30 days, you lose your deposit.

Staff was not friendly, bored, and was distracted during check in.

Know what you're getting into before reserving! We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

After reading so many mixed reviews, I was somewhat reluctant to stay here. However, after the wife and daughter decided that staying at Rincon wasn't a good idea for keeping the dog from making a mess in our rig, we headed here. I can definitely see where depending on what part of the facility you stayed at can make quite a difference. As for our site, 52, I have no complaints. Noise wasn't an issue and space was adequate. Here were our negatives; expensive, charge for everything and LOTS of rules. The one that bugged me the most was having to wear wristbands during your stay. That being said, I can see the reason as the proximity to the beach and it's local homeless has the resort security guards constantly patrolling the perimeter. Verifying who belongs is easier with the bands than security questioning every guest. We only stayed one night and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I was a little nervous about staying here because I booked our site before reading all the mostly negative reviews. The only drag is the freeway noise. We were in site 106 and the freeway was only about 70 yards from us and was noisy, but you know that going in. I looked hard to try to find a rude employee, but did not. Store personnel and security guards were all helpful and cheerful. Security in golf carts patrolled all night. The hook-ups all worked flawlessly and the park seemed to be maintained well. The beach is a short 15 minute walk if you go through the Emma Wood side which is next door. We will stay here again but will opt for a more premium site. The double pull thru would have another RV backed in within a couple of feet of your rig. All in all a good experience and didn't mind spending the money to stay here. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are jammed together and a noisy highway runs right behind the park. The manager was extremely rude and there are homeless people everywhere. We never felt safe. Do not stay here! Way over priced. Expect to pay extra for every little thing. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Way over priced for this park. It is within 4 blocks or so of the beach, but the beach does not have good access. No sandy beaches for walking, very rocky, a lot of bushes with homeless people living in them. This park has security for good reason, it in a bad part of town, a lot of homeless people in the area. The staff are very nice but not very knowledgeable of the area or even the rules of the park so they have to ask the manager about everything. Manager rules with an iron fist and is rude. You would think at this price she would be a little nicer. Do not stay here unless you like being treated badly and price is no concern. There are county parks just north that are half the price and much nicer with good beach access. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have camped here before and enjoy the area. We paid an extra $11 / night for a premium space. Even though we were only a few spaces from the WIFI antenna, it did not work well. I would have given a 9 if it did. Nice place to camp for bike riding and relaxing. I used the Jacuzzi and enjoyed it. The restrooms have a combo lock to enter the shower area first, then separate to the washrooms. There is a game room and a decent store. I would go again, but find a coffee place for WIFI use. We stayed 2 nights and the only complaint is the park construction noise. Started early in morning. Laundry facilities has issues. Friendly staff; however, the after hours check in staff was not knowledgeable. I had to go in next morning. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was the fourth time we have stayed here; every time before has been PERFECT; this time a disaster. We go to Ventura for a dog show at the fairgrounds same time every year. We know it's a holiday, and we enjoy hearing everyone celebrate. We have always been able to choose our site; we make reservations 6 months in advance. On arrival, we were told that because we didn't pay a fee of $15, our site selection had not been guaranteed. We said we would gladly have paid that and more to guarantee the site; we were told "well you know now". We were squeezed into the same size site in another section of the park, with ANOTHER RV at no reduction of price. We were so upset, I was in tears. Eventually they moved us to a site near the one we had chosen. We noticed that the sewer connection was full of water, but hooked up anyway and had no problems until we left and were unable to dump our tanks. Also, they had a band playing until midnight on Saturday, even though quite time was 10PM. We complained to Security to no avail. When we went home, we tried to contact the park manager to voice our issues but never received a return call. We posted on their Facebook page with the same request; they removed our post without a call. I don't know if this place has changed hands or not, but it seems like they feel like you have no other choice but them so put up or shut up! We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The elevated noise level here is well known, so just deal with it or don't go here. For the first time in multiple visits over multiple years, the check-in went without a hitch. IF you arrive at prime arrival time, the line at the desk will be 10 deep!! A new twist (at least to us) was the armbands (to keep people in the park only to paying visitors). The bathroom near our campsite was clean but very, very messy. The park does not have walkways from the outlying rows to get to the restrooms, so you have discourteous campers walking through your dinner at the provided table to get there or to the overflowing trash bins. Speaking of which...they pick up at 7AM on Saturday (yuk), but not until 10:30 on Sunday when the trash is both in and out of the cans and spilling over everywhere. Now for the pluses: roomy sites although I did see a few where the trees encroached and would brush against the rig; nice store but you share the checkout lines with the registering campers; one mile walk to downtown Ventura, about .5 miles to the bike path that goes along the beach, Emma Woods State Park is immediately to the North of the park, also within walking distance. One word of caution...do not get the sites at the end of the rows towards the store...Friday night is Karaoke and Saturday night is a band...both loud and not necessarily pleasant to hear. On this weekend, the park did it's usual thing...packed as many people as possible into the park. The overflow camping at the Ventura end of the park was just that...overflowing. While I appreciate capitalism, this park does take it to a new level. All in all, the convenient location does mitigate the high cost and high noise levels, but they could do so much to improve the park (walkways/cable TV/better timing on trash collection/better bathroom maintenance). Our advice is to try it, and if the minuses are too great, don't go back. All in all, had a great time (went with a group) and will return albeit not as often as we could go due to some of the negatives in this review. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed in site #7 and had to work at getting in. The trees were brushing the sides of our coach and the slides were in the leaves. Forget about the awning. We were 100 yards from the office and the Wi-Fi signal was terrible. I had to sit outside the office to send this as it was the only location for a decent signal. The freeway noise is non-stop and being 50 yards from Highway 101, it's loud. Beggars can't be choosers and its one week before the Fourth of July, so here we are for 2 nights, but we won't be back. We stayed in space number 7. The freeway noise was so loud we could not sit outside. The tent campers kept walking thru our and other campsites on a frequent basis. The space was small and the trees brushed up against our pull outs. The check in was slow and added more stress because they do not have enough room to checking the RV's. The stress level to be in this park was high and made the entire weekend a lost cause. We will not be coming back. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lovely, clean park next to busy fwy. There's plenty of fwy noise, but if you can live with that, it's a great park. Feels very safe and there are beautiful places to walk and bike nearby. Will return. NO REFUNDS for noise, so be sure you can handle it before you pay for a long visit. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

After reading the previous reviews, my expectations were so low that I was pleasantly surprised. Still, this is very much a stopover park. They now take Passport America. You can get 50% off one day, weekdays only (Sun-Thurs). This is a good value. Good W-Fi. The park is on the other side of 101 from the beach, but a it is a 15 minute walk to beach and short bike ride to the town of Ventura. The edge of the park is less than 10 feet from Highway 101. Hedges can only do so much. I am not a light sleeper but noise was an issue. The young women at the office were nice, but at 12:02 pm, literally two minutes after check out time, a guy in a Security jacket showed up at my door. It was creepy. The park was only about 20% full, so it's not like someone was waiting for the spot. It seems like they are just looking for an excuse to charge a late fee. Given the PA deal, I extended from one night to two. It's not awful. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I would have given the park a 9 but the noise can become very loud late at night.Sites were level, Hook ups worked perfectly. Staff was very warm and friendly, they delivered firewood to our site. 24 hour patrol would stay here again. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.
