Have stayed here several times. Some sites right on river but very close together. River is lovely. VERY noisy when crowded with lots of OHVs running around campground at all hours~Seems as if some parents just let the kids drive OHVs in circles around campground constantly.Mud Hole in rain. Bath rundown! Small store nearby. Town of Washington is rather junky attracting Bikers. Very long steep drive into campground. No enforcement to pick up dog waste (YUCK!). Owners on site~very chill. Would be better with a few rules. We camped at River Rest Resort in a Motorhome.

Atmosphere is very casual. Some areas were communal, obviously multiple families camped as a group so there was a lot of foot traffic and socializing. We popped the breaker at our site 3 times with minimal load, and after the third time I went to the office to report it. The on-site owner was there within 15 minutes to fix the problem; very nice folks. Sites are dirt, some are grass, and a bit on the small side. A HUGE word of caution- save your brakes on the way in, it's about 3-1/2miles of 7% hairpins coming in. But the river was right there, and made for very pleasant music to sleep by. We camped at River Rest Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is right on the Yuba River and has beautiful views. The people that run it are really nice. My only criticism of the place is the dog excrement all over the place. I've been to this place twice and had to scoop it off of our site, and adjoining sites before we even get our slides out. The flies and the stench is bad. Park management need to install dog waste collection bag dispensers to encourage their patrons to pick up after their pets. Additionally, the rule of pets on a leash is ignored and park management do nothing about it. It's scary to walk your small dog on a leash with large dogs charging at you. The good news is that there are garbage cans at each site and it is picked up daily. We will be back.l I hope they start enforcing the pet policies! We camped at River Rest Resort in a Motorhome.

This park has tons of potential and would rate a "10" on atmosphere alone. Unfortunately, the owners do not enforce their own rules. Dogs were running throughout the park at all times. Tents are allowed on RV sites with no RV present. More tents then RV's the weekend we were there. It truly looked like a tent city as you could not see the ground anywhere. Four person per site rule was a joke. Quiet time not enforced. Sites are right on top of each other. ATVs and motorcycles are ridden throughout. The one main positive about this park is the location/atmosphere. It is right on the south fork of the Yuba River. Most sites back up to the river and it is a gorgeous view and wonderful to wake up to. Kids raft down the river all day long. There is a great swimming hole. If rules were enforced we would return in a heartbeat. Be aware, there is no gas for 20 miles and the six mile drive to the town of Washington is downhill and steep. We camped at River Rest Resort in a Travel Trailer.
