We reserved a back in site near the playground for our little one to enjoy. We were not disappointed, we were right by the play structure. The site itself had a picnic table a patio table and the patio area was paved. The pad for the trailer was packed dirt and mostly level, I was barely on the anderson's to get the trailer level. The play area was large and had a very large sand pit as well. The park is very pet friendly with Dog waste stations found around the park with a supply of bags and a bin for the waste. The trash is picked up from in front of the site daily, although the recycling left something to be desired. I also found the park to be very dark at night which made walking the dog difficult. We would visit again it was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a very expensive KOA but it has a lot going for it. They have very friendly staff, activity sheet and lots of stuff for the kids. Heated swimming pool and hot tub, 2 dog parks, and convenient store/ souvenir shop. My boys (13,16.) loved the jumping pillow and activities like mini golf and tie dye workshop. They rented banana bikes and went swimming. We walked to the beach on the old railroad tracks (about a mile away). Since we were traveling in our 35' RV there isn't any parking for large vehicles. It was a really nice weekend before school. Even though it's expensive we'll be back. The showers/ restrooms were very clean and nice as well. Loved this place. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a smaller RV (31' or smaller), I believe there is camping available at a state beach within a couple miles if you're looking for something quieter.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here on a trip with our 12 year old son. This park has lots of family recreation type amenities. Family type resort means lots of kids. If you prefer something slightly less noisy, request a space away from the play area(s). Nice pool and hot tub. This is a large park and I was surprised at how clean the restrooms and other facilities are kept. Well stocked store with gifts, a few groceries and other misc items. Great dog park with grass and room to run. Cost was approx $140 per night. We stayed one night in a 60' pull through and 3 nights in a smaller 40'. The 60' (space #225) was higher rate of around $150 (I believe) and included a stand up gas grill, larger concrete pad and concrete surrounded fire pit. The smaller space (#50, which we preferred of the two), cost slightly less and backed to the tree line of the park which gave more privacy. Smaller space had smaller pad and more dirt including around the fire pit. The smaller site was large enough to park both our 28' camper and truck. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great family park in a nice location. It has lots of activities for children. We stayed there due to its proximity for a family get together. The rates are the highest that we have encountered in our years of RVing. The park is extremely busy (the busiest that I have been to) with lots of children riding bicycles and having fun on the weekend! You need to be very careful maneuvering your RV and driving through the park because the kids aren't watching out for you. Summer is most likely just as busy. The spaces that back up against the trees were quieter if you want or need more serenity. The staff was great. I would not stay here again due to the high rate unless I had children or no other close by park. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

The park is great if you have alot of money and kids! The site was nothing special and not big enough to fit our motorhome and truck (tow vehicle). There was a pretty worn out picnic table at the site. Gravel area to park motorhome, and dirt / gravel mix where you walk. We can say "been there and done that" and will not return. Too expensive. We arrived the afternoon of Labor Day. The park had been at 100% of capacity for the weekend. When we arrived at 1:30 pm, we found the staff friendly, the camp sites clean and bathroom/showers ready to use. The camp site was large for our R-Pod trailer. The only thing we didn't like was the $5/day fee for the dog. We plan to return. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We went with 3 trailers- our spot was the biggest - the other spots were a little small. It was a clean park - nice staff. Wish the grocery part of the store was a little bigger. Nice pool and spa area. It was a little hard to find the park. We were charged $10 extra to request spots together- camped at other KOA's in other states and this was a first. We splurged and booked one of the back in sites with the patio overlooking the newly remodeled pool area below! It was a bit pricey, but the spot was spacious, clean and very nice. Our kids loved all of the fun amenities, including the game room, jumping pillow, bike rentals, playground area and beautiful new pool. During our stay, we visited Big Basin Redwood Park in Santa Cruz, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Monterey Bay Aquarium and nearby beaches (1 mile away)! Overall Rating:

This KOA was amazing! The campground layout is terrific, plenty of room between spots, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were a ton of activities for our two young boys (7 & 9) to do in our down time at the campground, including a large playground, jumping pillow, ping pong, mini golf, fun bike rentals, a brand new pool facility, a "fun train", and more! They offered organized crafts, free movie nights, walks to the beach, and more. Our site was large with a stone paver patio for the picnic table + a deck off the back with a metal table & two chairs! It's a terrific spot for families with access to the nearby beaches, Santa Cruz and other destinations! We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This KOA provided us with easy access to a wide variety of off-site activities. We visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, just 30 miles south. We drove to Big Basin Redwood State Park, an hour drive and worth it (just $10 to park and explore the miles of trails)! We went into Santa Cruz and had dinner at The Crow's Nest by the harbor and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We went to Sand Dollar Beach (just a mile drive from the KOA) and saw a pod of dolphins just offshore.

Nice campground for hitting Santa Cruz and Monterrey. Large spaces that were well kept. The only downfall is all the dogs when it's full, it sounds like a dog kennel. If dogs barking don't bother you than this is a great campground. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice park - nice family park. Yeah ! I know KOA can be expensive but for where it is - remote as it is - was really pricey at $1200 for 14 days (one night free - Mother's day) and that is with the KOA card discount. Well groomed sites, level and very clean. Staff was great - very helpful and attentive. To be honest - found the place while looking for workamper position- but decided to just visit and not work LOL. Just a little rough on the wallet. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was very expensive and not what we would normally pay for an RV park. But it was in the area we wanted to visit and we decided to splurge on a nice place. Other than the outrageous cost, the park is awesome! We had a site with a private deck in the back which was a really nice place to sit outside and relax. This campground has so many wonderful amenities for children including a very nice playground, a bounce pad that was my kids' favorite, a climbing wall, mini golf and numerous activities scheduled for kids each day. The campground is immaculate! Every site and area of the park is so clean and well kept. The pool was under construction while we were there, but it was too cold to swim at that time anyway. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The park was jammed full of people on the weekend, but during the week we had almost the whole place to ourselves. We are full time RVers and I appreciated that they let me have mail and packages delivered there. Verizon and AT&T 4G worked very well which we need since we work remotely. The location is perfect for visiting Santa Cruz and Monterey. We would love to stay there again, just wish it wasn't quite so expensive. We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed just shy of two weeks at the KOA in site 91, right by the bounce pillow and very close to the playground. We loved staying there, and seriously considered extending our stay another month, but the weather pushed us further south. While we were there though, the weather held well. The bounce pillow for my son and for all of the other kids we saw there was the greatest thing we've ever seen at a campground anywhere. It was so much fun. We also loved the bike rentals and the playground - I think we rented bikes three times while we were there, and they were so much fun.

The staff was friendly and always helpful, the folks who worked there never seemed bothered or irritated. There was daily - not just once but several times a day - trash pickup - they had recycling, and everything was kept really nicely.

This is one of the largest KOAs we've seen and had plenty of space to accommodate everyone - because we were there in the off season we often felt like we had the park to ourselves, even though there were actually several other guests there. And lots of little cabins, too.

There was a pool and hot tub which were both available for use, the pool being heated, but we never even got to them because the bounce pillow and bike rentals were all we needed. There was also a little mini golf course and a big game room with a couple of ping pong tables and mostly claw machine "games", from what I could tell.

We would absolutely stay here again - no question. We loved it there so much! IT's going to make all other KOAs pale in comparison though.

Also there's a local organic farm stand at Annieglass on Friday - Sundays, and the produce and honey there is wonderful. It's also not too far to the Santa Cruz Trader Joe's, and of course you HAVE to go to Monterey Bay Aquarium while you're there! There's also a Monarch Butterfly Overwintering spot in Santa Cruz that's fun, and you can drive right to the beach after because it's right there. There's SO much to do! We camped at Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

Our 6 year old son enjoyed his stay immensely. He loved riding a rented banana bike, playing miniature gold with us and the rock climbing palm trees. He also enjoyed a good time on the big bouncer. The park was very well laid out, easy to maneuver our 40' diesel pusher and our site was large and private. Very nice power supply. We have another reservation for July.
