We arrived the afternoon of Labor Day. The park had been at 100% of capacity for the weekend. When we arrived at 1:30 pm, we found the staff friendly, the camp sites clean and bathroom/showers ready to use. The camp site was large for our R-Pod trailer. The only thing we didn't like was the $5/day fee for the dog. We plan to return. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground for hitting Santa Cruz and Monterrey. Large spaces that were well kept. The only downfall is all the dogs when it's full, it sounds like a dog kennel. If dogs barking don't bother you than this is a great campground. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

This KOA was amazing! The campground layout is terrific, plenty of room between spots, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were a ton of activities for our two young boys (7 & 9) to do in our down time at the campground, including a large playground, jumping pillow, ping pong, mini golf, fun bike rentals, a brand new pool facility, a "fun train", and more! They offered organized crafts, free movie nights, walks to the beach, and more. Our site was large with a stone paver patio for the picnic table + a deck off the back with a metal table & two chairs! It's a terrific spot for families with access to the nearby beaches, Santa Cruz and other destinations! We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This KOA provided us with easy access to a wide variety of off-site activities. We visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, just 30 miles south. We drove to Big Basin Redwood State Park, an hour drive and worth it (just $10 to park and explore the miles of trails)! We went into Santa Cruz and had dinner at The Crow's Nest by the harbor and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. We went to Sand Dollar Beach (just a mile drive from the KOA) and saw a pod of dolphins just offshore.

This park was very expensive and not what we would normally pay for an RV park. But it was in the area we wanted to visit and we decided to splurge on a nice place. Other than the outrageous cost, the park is awesome! We had a site with a private deck in the back which was a really nice place to sit outside and relax. This campground has so many wonderful amenities for children including a very nice playground, a bounce pad that was my kids' favorite, a climbing wall, mini golf and numerous activities scheduled for kids each day. The campground is immaculate! Every site and area of the park is so clean and well kept. The pool was under construction while we were there, but it was too cold to swim at that time anyway. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The park was jammed full of people on the weekend, but during the week we had almost the whole place to ourselves. We are full time RVers and I appreciated that they let me have mail and packages delivered there. Verizon and AT&T 4G worked very well which we need since we work remotely. The location is perfect for visiting Santa Cruz and Monterey. We would love to stay there again, just wish it wasn't quite so expensive. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park - nice family park. Yeah ! I know KOA can be expensive but for where it is - remote as it is - was really pricey at $1200 for 14 days (one night free - Mother's day) and that is with the KOA card discount. Well groomed sites, level and very clean. Staff was great - very helpful and attentive. To be honest - found the place while looking for workamper position- but decided to just visit and not work LOL. Just a little rough on the wallet. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed just shy of two weeks at the KOA in site 91, right by the bounce pillow and very close to the playground. We loved staying there, and seriously considered extending our stay another month, but the weather pushed us further south. While we were there though, the weather held well. The bounce pillow for my son and for all of the other kids we saw there was the greatest thing we've ever seen at a campground anywhere. It was so much fun. We also loved the bike rentals and the playground - I think we rented bikes three times while we were there, and they were so much fun.

The staff was friendly and always helpful, the folks who worked there never seemed bothered or irritated. There was daily - not just once but several times a day - trash pickup - they had recycling, and everything was kept really nicely.

This is one of the largest KOAs we've seen and had plenty of space to accommodate everyone - because we were there in the off season we often felt like we had the park to ourselves, even though there were actually several other guests there. And lots of little cabins, too.

There was a pool and hot tub which were both available for use, the pool being heated, but we never even got to them because the bounce pillow and bike rentals were all we needed. There was also a little mini golf course and a big game room with a couple of ping pong tables and mostly claw machine "games", from what I could tell.

We would absolutely stay here again - no question. We loved it there so much! IT's going to make all other KOAs pale in comparison though.

Also there's a local organic farm stand at Annieglass on Friday - Sundays, and the produce and honey there is wonderful. It's also not too far to the Santa Cruz Trader Joe's, and of course you HAVE to go to Monterey Bay Aquarium while you're there! There's also a Monarch Butterfly Overwintering spot in Santa Cruz that's fun, and you can drive right to the beach after because it's right there. There's SO much to do! We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

Our 6 year old son enjoyed his stay immensely. He loved riding a rented banana bike, playing miniature gold with us and the rock climbing palm trees. He also enjoyed a good time on the big bouncer. The park was very well laid out, easy to maneuver our 40' diesel pusher and our site was large and private. Very nice power supply. We have another reservation for July. This is our second stay. The first one we were awaiting a grandchild's birth and the no ATT signal was just too problematic. We decided to give it a second go because grandkids love the bouncy in ground trampoline. We were given site 39 which was billed as a premium back in 30 amp site. The site had no privacy planting at all and two sites down began the tent camping so no privacy at all. The site was also full of moles with active holes being dug as we were there. A walk around the park told me there were much better sites without moles and with privacy barriers. So I have no idea why I paid for a premium site which was so compromised. Perhaps controlling rodents is difficult, but since I only saw 2 sites with a huge issue, perhaps taking these out of the rotation and not churning premium prices for them would have been a better plan. I doubt we will give it third go. The children on bikes are a hindrance to traversing the park safely. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Definitely a KIDS park: they are running around everywhere. We did have a very large pull thru which also included a propane BBQ, 4 metal chairs & table; and a wood picnic table. Of course the cost, with our KOA 10% discount was still $116.21 a night (tax included). But our 9 year old Grand-daughter enjoyed all the Kid extras. Other sites were in the $75 range. Grass was brown, I guess due to CA drought restrictions. But, without kids, we would not return. Would stay at more adult parks nearer to Santa Cruz. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly staff. Extremely clean park. Little things here are a big plus. For example you put your trash at the curb and they pick it up. Nice clean, flat, back in site wth full hook ups. Sites are close together. Lots of activities for kids. Large playgrounds. Mini Golf, banana bike rentals, a train that runs around the park for kids to ride. We camped on the Care Camp weekend. First night was full price, second night was $10. They had a variety of fund raising activities to support Care Camp. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is beautiful. They do seem to cater to the locals and weekenders with families and not long term people. The park is definitely designed for kids and you have to be careful with all the bike riders. Sites were very nice with landscaping and long enough for our rig. The outdoor staff were very friendly, but the office staff were rude. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

This is our first stay in a KOA and I must say I was expecting more especially for the price. We stayed for five nights. It seems to be oriented toward kids and families with not much for older RVers. With all the kids you must be very careful driving because they are everywhere especially on weekends. The park was very convenient as we were visiting both Monterey and Santa Cruz probably why the park is named what it is. Overall, it is kind of average if somewhat overpriced for what we wanted. Outstanding park for family oriented amenities, location, and environment. Our site was too far from the office to get any wifi reception and Verizon reception was spotty to non-existent. We enjoyed our stay here in spite of those limitations. Overpriced for what we needed, but not for the location. We camped at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

This was a 2 night stop for us and this KOA is pretty awesome! The girls working the front counter are nothing short of awesome and the grounds are nice. Pool was very clean, and even saw a guy vacuming it at 6am on our second day there. Lots for the kids to do, and an all around great park. I will definitely stay here again!
