This is a former KOA and a very old park. There has been little or no improvements made to the spots. They are gravel with no grass. The tree limbs are low and we hit the side and roof of our Motorhome. They are so close to the next spot that you can not put out an awning without hitting a tree limb. There are several permanent residents. They really need to update the water and power hook-ups too. It is a good short stay location. Lots of cabins and tent area with lots of things for kids to do. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Convenient freeway access. But no freeway noise. Clean park. Staff was very helpful. My TV signal was weak. The splitter on the post was broken. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

At that price had modest expectations.

Leaking, low water pressure.

Virtually unusable WIFI.

Sewer connection 16' from my hookup. (had to use their dump station)

To top it off-- at 8:51am a guy with a LEAFBLOWER comes sauntering down the lane behind my rig, blows not leaves but DIRT into my bedroom window....then down the lane in front to leave a beautiful coat of dirt over the front half of my truck.

Would not return and certainly never recommend. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We camp in a "Tear Drop style RV" only 15' long w/o toilet or shower and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area. Evidence this was once KOA; with A-Frame shape of office building and sites all crammed close together with about a 4' strip of grass between barely room for the small picnic table. It's an older park - we got lucky close to restroom with an asphalt pad while many others were on gravel - didn't need any blocks to level. Older shower / restroom facility but kept clean - looking at recent gallery of pictures on their web site, appears they "spruced up" the restroom/shower facility since we stayed their. I included our pictures and notice the apparent improved difference. Still don't know if they have the older fixtures and my comments were to improve by doing some painting and upgrading the fixtures, replacing the rubber floor mats, in and outside of shower stalls, adding conveniences of hooks and shelving for your stuff. The stalls are very tight 3', I think, and changing area same that includes a small stool. Sink and vanity area is roomy, but again no hooks or shelves to hold your stuff. Also appears they improved overall appearance of the park with added gravel and sprucing up - Park is in industrial area along side of freeway, but sound barrier wall kept noise at bay - newer shopping center complex close by [approx 3 mi] with Wal-Mart and Home Depot as anchor stores with many others. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This RV park is very convenient from I-80. The owners are wonderful and dedicated people. The property was clean and, although we do not travel with children, they had loads of activities for them, including an ice cream socials ... which even us "big kids" took advantage of! They also keep a small group of hens from which we were given fresh eggs which we used for a breakfast. The site was a bit tight but it really wasn't an issue for us. We'd stay here again anytime! We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Used to be a KOA. Good size park. Clean. Some grass surrounding, but not in spaces. Quite a number of long term residents. Great dog park area - large with exercise equipment. Lots of room to run off leash. Lots of cabins. Nice walk along the water. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We have stayed 2 times while traveling through both times overnight. Our 2nd stay was better than the first. Again it is fine for overnight. Easy on off the 5 freeway, set back so not to much freeway noise unless light sleeper. There is fuel near by.

Reviews from April & June 2015 are accurate. Sites too skinny, low hanging branches need trimming. Old KOA park, our site had water/power hookups on the passenger side; had to run hose & cord under bus & unsightly/inconvenient being on our "front yard" area, along with hose/cord/sewer hose from neighbor. Site was thrashed when we pulled in, dog food & trash scattered all over. Price is the daily rate, weekly is charged 6 full days, no discount, & 7th nite "free". $49 per nite is terribly overpriced for this dump, especially since it is only 30A service. Residents need to clean up their sites. Will not return here again. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The grounds are kept very clean. There are a lot of full timers. We were put right next to them. That had a truck that was constantly coming and going and the fuel smell was awful. The swimming pool was full of kids that knew each other. We felt out of place. They were helpful in the office for directions. I would have been happier next to people that were traveling. They are close to Old Sacramento which makes it nice. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This used to be a KOA campground but has left the system. Very narrow sites. My awning on my motor home when I put it out was six inches from the motor home next to me. Young people driving cars with very loud exhaust at all hours of the night and speeding through the campground. I reported it to the office staff and they told me that kids would be kids. Very overpriced for what it is. Price should be about half of what it is. A lot of the long term campers had a lot of junk around their site which made the campground look bad. WI-FI was terrible, even when sitting under the tower. The staff for the most part was very friendly. I don't think that I would stay there again except for in an emergency. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice enough place with good amenities. Sites are level gravel full hookup w/50amp. The problem is access. The roads are narrow with tight turns and the sites are way to close together. Your front door is on the sewer of the next site. Only there for one night. Okay if going thru. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This KOA park is leaving the KOA system and will no longer be affiliated with KOA effective January 1, 2015. According to the management, they need to invest the amount they pay KOA each year in improving the campground. Whatever the case may be, they definitely need to invest in improvements. The sites need lots of work! They are very long, but very narrow and the utilities are placed in very odd places. Our sewer connection was at the front of the site (we had to couple two hoses together to reach it) and raised about a foot off the ground. The other utilities were at the back. Our jacks sunk through the thin layer of gravel and ended about 8 inches down into the mud. After we stacked blocks in the muddy hole, we were finally able to get leveled. Don't get me wrong, the park is not terrible and is probably the best place to stay in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful and are working hard to maintain the park and keep the facilities clean and functional. We are sorry to see them leave the KOA system and we hope they carry through on their promise to invest in improvements. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed over Thanksgiving Week. It is a nice campground with level gravel sites. The 30 AMP row we were in had one electric post for every 2 sites, so you had a 50% chance of having to run your electric under your coach to the other site. The sites are pretty close together, but this is a more urban campground. Very nice for visiting Sacramento, Davis, and Gold Country. Large dog run area, large game room, tetherball for the kids. Safeway is not far for food, they do have a 24 Karat Grill, to provide hot food at the campground. Most of the RV sites are pull through.
