Had a quick night stop here in the off season. We were impressed with the place after having stayed at another CG recently. The best part was probably the trees and shade! The office and surrounding area, like the library, were cute and inviting. Spots are close, but we still could put out both side slides and the awning. There is a little cement pad for a table, not provided. There is a pretty little river walk. The people staying there were all very welcoming. Every thing seemed to be well kept. We did not hear or see any evictions, but we were only there one night. We would go back. Speed bumps are major and did scrape the bottom of the car even though we were going about 5 mph. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two nights, had a back in site under their big trees, a very nice touch after traveling from one desert RV park to another. They can't do much about the dust, I guess. The trees unfortunately draw lots of mourning doves that land on your tables and do their duty! Maybe that's why there are no picnic tables here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their pool is being redone, so we couldn't use it, but in a few days it will be beautiful. We visited the Yuma Territorial Prison and Algodones, Mexico while here, both good trips. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The manager of this park uses profanity publicly and loud when confronting guest! We witnessed him evicting a guest for a very small rope he had around his RV. According to others in park this action is normal. Evictions are almost a daily occurrence. We left after witnessing the profanity this man uses! We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park has paved roads. Sites are level. A mix of park models and RV spaces. Sites are gravel. Each site has a cement pad for the "patio". Children and pets are allowed. The water is salty. Has too much manganese. There is a water vending machine on site, 25 cents for 1 gallon. There is a community room, a pool, hot tubs, and exercise room, card room also has pool tables, a library and a laundry room. Community room is mostly for cards, bingo and bunco. Vinyl floor and lots of tables and chairs. They had a New Year dance while we were there but very tight space for dancing because there were too many tables. Huge pool is heated but still too cool for us. 2 Hot tubs. Small exercise room has 2 treadmills and 2 bikes. Long walk from hot tub to shower room. The shower/ bathroom is not connected to the pool area. The shower/bathroom is slippery, has no mats, and has cloth upholstered chairs in the change areas. The showers are clean but tired. The card room is very nice, has 4 or 5 card tables, 2 pool tables, and a foosball table. The library is tired. Has some books, board games, tables with jigsaw puzzles, and tourist flyers and brochures. The laundry room uses tokens instead of coins. You purchase the tokens from the office $5 for 3 tokens. A wash takes 1 token. A dry takes 1 token, maybe 2. No line dry. The park lies on the north side of the Colorado river. It has large shade trees. There are shuttle boards, horseshoe, and pickle balls. We were there in January and it was cold and windy so we did not attempt any of these games. Grocery stores, gas stations, movie theaters etc. are all in nearby Yuma. There is not much in Winterhaven. You will be driving into Yuma quite often. This park does NOT have free Wifi. You must purchase your own Wifi from Beamspeed for around $25/month. Even cell signals are temperamental in this RV park. I have T-mobile. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Has large trees at the rear of each site that offered protection from any sun we might see. All sites are back ins but you do have room to maneuver. Lined up in a row on either side of the short street. The Colorado River is at the end of each street which makes for a nice walk. Close to Algodones Mexico and Yuma. This is a very large park and they have a strict speed limit with killer speed bumps. Laundry available along with a small library, shuffleboard and game room. Offer BBQ during the week for a reasonable price. The office staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Mostly snowbirds here. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Has large mature trees at the back of every site and green grass! That was the draw for us. Although still lined up parking lot style, each back-in site has shade from the trees and a sense of separation from the neighbors behind. The Colorado River runs through on one end. On the border of AZ and CA and only 2.5 miles from Yuma and 5 miles from Los Algodones Mexico. Huge older park, a bit dated but well maintained. Great laundry facility, library, rec hall and game room. Laid back with very friendly people. Mix of park models and RV's, seasonal and short stay. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Los Algodones is only 5 miles away and is a Mecca for glasses, dentists and pharmacies. Bring passport. Easy to park on US side of border and walk in. No wait going in but lines coming back.
Quartermaster Depot in Yuma is an interesting stop with the homes, corral, store house restored. There is even a pie shop. Didn't try the pie but the ice cream was wonderful. the Depot is where supplies came back steamboat to de stored and distributed to forts in Arizona in the late 1800's.

Overall Rating:

We were pleasantly surprised by River's Edge. While the sites are basic and are definitely closer together than we'd prefer, there was enough space in between sites to not feel too cramped. The park is mostly occupied by winter/seasonal RVs, and they don't take reservations for short-term stays, but we called in the morning to confirm that they had space for us for a few nights. The dog walk area is very long, and there are stairs to a gravel service road (not part of the RV park) that we and many others also used for dog walks. During our visit they were doing a trial run of allowing dogs along the "river walk" part of the park as well. Since it was 90 degrees (in February) this was great as our Lab could hop into the Colorado river in a couple places to get wet. There was no WiFi, and our cellular service was only OK. With two bars of Verizon LTE and one bar of AT&T LTE, we got data working on both but it was slow. The staff was friendly, and the park was clean and attractive. There was some highway noise from I-10 but it wasn't too bad (it might depend on how close your site is to the highway). Based only on the sites I'd give the park a lower rating, but because of the good price, the good dog walking opportunities, and the shade from the trees, we give it an overall "8" rating. We need to return to Yuma in the summer when it'll be 110 degrees, and the shade trees here will certainly bring us back to River's Edge. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A bit of advice: this park is in California but is only a couple hundred feet from the Arizona border. During our stay our iPhones kept switching from Pacific time to Arizona time (and back and forth) depending on which cell tower they connected to, making it a little hard to keep track of what time it really was.

This was going to be a one night stop with some fishing. Fishing is not good, water too swift. The spots are uneven but easy to navigate. The issue for us was the power, as it was unbalanced after a lightning storm came through. One leg was low enough to make me decide to run the generator rather than risk my RV equipment. I could have moved but decided not to with no promise of better power. The staff was great but they were gone when the power went bad so there was no help except to move or put on the generator. There were trees lining the back of most spaces, not ours. I could see that they could block out the morning sun or the afternoon sun, depending on which row you're parked on. Full hookups, 30/50 amp, not level where I was but a number did seem to be better. Dirt and gravel with a cement pad for a patio. Lots of long term residences. Friendly people, which I have not always found with long term residents. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the park. It's very large and easy to navigate. It has huge, lush trees lining the back of the spaces that either block out the morning sun or the afternoon sun, depending on which row you're parked on. The spaces themselves are just that - spaces; full hookups, 30/50 amp - nothing special. They're wide and roomy, dirt and gravel with a cement pad for a patio. The park has a beautiful dog walking area on one side and a river walk for campers on the other. The pool looked beautiful, though without enough shade it was simply too hot for us to enjoy it. But, by far the best feature of the park is its staff: they were extremely friendly and supremely accommodating. They went way above and beyond for us, and we very much appreciated their help. We'll definitely stay here again when we're in the area. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Yuma in the summer is one of the hottest places on the face of the planet - I'm not kidding. If you're going to visit during the summer, be prepared with plenty of hats, sunscreen and water, and make sure your rig's a/c's are up to the task.

Rivers Edge is right next to the Colorado River which is nice. This area is very hot and humid in summer and We could not stay long because of it . The sites are pretty small but clean. The Dog walk covers the entire length of the campground which is quite long. They have limited cable TV available and that is convenient. The camp is very convenient to Mexico for Dental work so we would stay again. Compared to other RV camps around this one had the most trees. There is a concrete Patio but there are also a lot of birds. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park was reasonably priced and well maintained. We enjoyed the pool and the long dog walk section. It's close to local attractions, including a giant playground across the river. The spots are pretty close together but are well shaded. They have one row of pull-through sites. There is a per night dog fee, which is offset by the Good Sam discount. The primary detractors are that it has a lot of highway noise and there is no Wi-Fi. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Friendly office staff. Gravel parking with a concrete pad when you step out the door. Nice large showers, very clean. 4g internet with the MiFi on the Verizon network. A dog disclaimer to be signed and a large area to walk them. A lot of people living there and a lot going on to judge by the bulletin boards. I'd stay there again. Nice, rustic park. Sites are all back-in and are rather close together. All sites back in to a row of trees and hookups are near the back of the site. It can be a long reach for the sewer hose! Pool and hot tubs are great. Lots of yearly returning snowbirds, plus permanent sites that are nicely kept up. Freeway noise is continuous but you get use to it. There is no Wi-Fi so come with your own or do without. We had so-so 3G service with Millenicom. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a large, well-appointed park with large sites and lots of shade. The park is managed by a lady with definite rules regarding dogs and where they can go. This is not a problem as a dog walk area goes the entire length of the park. We found her to be friendly and helpful. Hookups worked well. The Colorado River is behind the park and Arizona can be seen across it. The roads are paved, sites are level, huge trees provide canopies over the sites. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate is based on weekly rate. Tight level spaces. Park has lots of snowbirds who are gone, so park is quite empty. They will try to get you in the shady spaces in the summertime, which you must have. Very large park with big pool and 2 jacuzzis. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
