Only here one night on our way to Mesa Verde. Nice quiet RV Park even tho there were a lot of us here. Level gravel site with a small fire pit and an almost useless picnic table. Staff was friendly and efficient. They have a small pool and a small play area for kids but we didn't use either. There is a small laundry area and a nice little store. We ordered Hunt Bros Pizza which was delivered to us and it was not gourmet pizza but was good. My only complaint is for the amenities I thought it was pricey even with our discount, other than that we were very satisfied. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Right off the highway, about five miles east of Alamosa and a 30 minute drive to Great Sand Dunes. Entrance area wide an long. Staff friendly and helpful. When we were checking out, they assisted us greatly in determining if Wolf Creek Pass was open and safe. The roads are hard pack dirt and easy to navigate. Lots of pools of water after a night's rain. Sites are thick gravel, level and long enough to stay hooked up. Decent spacing. Grass patio area with rickety picnic table. We stayed in site 48. Two sets of restrooms, one towards the back of the campground disguised as a cabin, very handy. Lots of rabbits. No cable and 3 OTA. Utilities worked fine but low water pressure. Internet was mostly good. Most sites satellite friendly. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Motorhome.

We only stayed one night on our way west to Pagosa Springs. This KOA is like most KOA's and I mean that in a very positive way. Easy to find, easy to navigate, thoughtfully laid out, rooms sites, reliable utilities, and always charming staff. We landed fairly early that afternoon so we went on to explore Alamosa. Had dinner @ Calvillo's and oh my was that fantastic. I give Alamosa as well as this KOA high marks as we sure enjoyed our stay. We camped in a 44' motorhome. Pro: Level site. Ample room. Hunt Brothers Pizza delivered to site excellent. Con: Dog Park had piles of dog poop. My wife cleaned it up four our pup. She reported to KOA staff with little response. No cable and no success getting on air reception. For the price, this park should have cable. Could not connect to wireless. Low water pressure - 20 psi. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Motorhome.

Typical older KOA, with dusty gravel roads. Park has easy access with escort to your site. Extra long, level pull-thrus. The back two rows have no trees and are satellite friendly. 3 1/2 miles east of center of town. We camped in a 45' motorhome with tow car. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Motorhome.

Wow, great WiFi, I don't see that very often. An older KOA, with small pool. $1.75 laundry, clean facility. Friendly staff - RVers that stay and work. Gravel campsite with picnic table and truck tire rim as fire pit. Our site had only 30 Amp service, which is okay for us. Elevation is about 7500 feet. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Sand Dunes NP is about 25 miles East. It can be seen from the campground at the base of the mountains. Mountains on both East and West sides of Alamosa.

We had a lot of rain during our stay at the Alamosa KOA in Alamosa Colorado but the park's gravel roads and sites held up well. Our Rand McNally GPS brought us right to the park but the Garmin GPS would have had us turn a little earlier but ended up at the same point. The hookups were convenient in our 100' pull thru. We had a good line of sight for our roof mounted satellite dish. The park wifi was good which was nice because we were approaching the Verizon 4g speed data limit on our jetpack. The Verizon phone service was spotty but the Verizon 4g was pretty good. We would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a simple park, typical of older KOAs. All roads and sites are gravel, but it is clean, sites are level, and most are pull-throughs. The laundry room is very clean and has a small book exchange. As others have noted, there are sites of various lengths, cabins, and nice areas for tents. The pool was closed when we arrived; the park closes for the season on Oct. 15. Alamosa is 3.5 miles away and Great Sand Dunes National Park was an easy 45-minute drive. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Motorhome.

I wanted power, water and Wi-Fi for the night because I'm dry camping for the next four nights. Wi-fi seems OK in the middle of the afternoon with a strong 5-bar signal and no latency because the network is overloaded. We'll see how it is later as travelers come in - it was OK, but the park was not crowded.

I'm a bit surprised the park is so far east of Alamosa - there is no shopping nearby. Groceries, restaurants, and other supplies are a moderate drive to the west.

Very friendly host couple, but it's your standard gravel parking lot KOA. What more needs to be said? We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Being so far from town this KOA offered pizza to order. I had food, so I cooked. But the convenience was thoughtful - and profitable too I suppose.

Enjoyed our stay here at the koa very much. Great location for all the local attractions, sand dunes, alamosa, gator park, etc. All the sites are level, most if not all are pull through, clean everywhere. Folks are nice and welcoming, everything worked including the wifi. Lots of shaded spots, cabins to rent and a nice area for tents. Dog play area and a small playground. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a typical KOA campground/RV Park. It is perfectly acceptable for a few nights, especially if you are in one of the back two rows. These are newer sites and are nicely graveled, good for big rigs and for satellite. However, the older rows of the park need additional gravel and are spaced close together. We saw one motorhome owner have to dig his motorhome out of the mud. Some nice tent sites. There is a swimming pool and a nice playground for children. There isn't much to do in Alamosa, but it is a good location for seeing the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We also did day trips to Creede and to Antonito/Chama. It is less than 30 miles to the Cumbres-Toltec train in Antonito. The laundry in the park is okay. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Motorhome.

There are several good New Mexico style restaurants. Try the Campus Cafe for breakfast! They have family sized cinnamon rolls, great pancakes and good green chile huevos.

This is a typical western KOA. Lots of gravel and dirt. Site was level. We were escorted to site. Limited space for dog walking. A warning to dog owners--we saw many rabbits in park. Our terrier went crazy. There is a pool which is small and up at front of park. No one used it while we were there. We camped at Alamosa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
