Easy access from interstate and city roads. A great place to camp near Denver. Although not a 'resort' since no pool or clubhouse or organized activities but we like it that way when traveling. Paved roads and sites, nice utility hookups, great line of sight for satellite dish in the Gold Rush Loop. We would stay here again. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Eat at Sam's No 3, great food.

This is a great state park, especially for big rigs! Easy access from the interstate, and well-marked. Wide roads, long pull-through sites with paving and concrete slabs. Full hookups. Wonderful bike trails, and great views of the city and the mountains! Deer wandering through in the early morning and evening hours. We were in the Buffalo Loop, site 142. Very nice campground hosts. we would definitely stay here again. The daily rate includes a $9/day vehicle charge (they give you a free pass for the toad). This is one of the best campgrounds we've stayed. The location was amazing; just five minutes from the city but felt like you were in the wilderness. The park was immaculate with paved roads throughout including the campsite. Our site was large, flat, fully serviced with amazing Wi-Fi. We stayed in site 16HA Abilene Loop. Although the campground was completely full it was quite peaceful. We would definitely go back. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Rate reflects additional daily park entrance fee for RV. (We were not aware of this when we booked.) Full hookup site was level, dish worked well. You can also pick up local TV with your antenna. It is very convenient to downtown Denver. Deer wandered through campground, and were not frightened by campers. Great place to stay with families. Would stay here again. We generally stay at Cherry Creek whenever we visit the Denver area. It is a wonderful state park given the urban location. Lots of space (sites and the overall park) and extremely well maintained. Years ago we stayed at different private RV parks in the area and there is simply no comparison for our needs and preferences. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Fee includes $9 daily park pass. Excellent campground with paved, level, roomy sites. Very clean, well maintained. We stayed in Abilene loop. Good Wi-Fi. Beach is within walking distance. One of the best systems of trails for walking, running, or biking. We will be back. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Not sure if I can say enough good about this park. Huge sites, level pads, good water pressure, and lots of hiking or biking trails. The work campers do an excellent job at keeping everything looking nice. Check in was easy. The only reason for not being a 10 is the fee for the park pass you have to purchase. They do give you a free pass for the toad but you have to purchase one for the motorhome. We will stay here again but you have to book months in advance due to all the local traffic staying there. Again, always a favorite place to camp! This was our first outing of the year and the weather was a little iffy, oh well. We stayed in the Abeline loop (our favorite) in site #010. Water pressure was a bit low this time, but a new backflow/regulator fixed that thanks to the camp hosts! Our two labrador retrievers love exploring this place as it is very dog friendly. (There is an off-leash park no too far away). Swim beach not open yet, but the lake was open to boating.(Too cold for us and our jetski!) Can't say more than has already been said, great place! I loved this park. Check-in, our site, the park were all first rate. I would stay here anytime. WIFI was great and the trails were awesome. The camp host came down to welcome us and offer any help. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

What an oasis in the middle of a city. Great spot. Make reservations even this time of year. We had to leave on Friday because it was booked solid. Fantastic campground with full service hookups. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

The only reason I didn't rate this campground a 10 is that they charge a daily park pass fee in addition to the camping fee, and they charge for showers. Sites are far apart, they are level, roomy concrete pads equipped with fire rings and tables. The Cherry Creek State Park is close to Denver and has a good size lake with boating, fishing and swimming. There is even a public shooting range in the park. Wi-Fi is adequate and the TV antenna pulls in lots of local stations. The bath houses are spotless and modern. Even as late as October this popular campground fills up on weekends, so be sure to make reservations early. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

The best park we've stayed at. Lots of room between sites. Lots of trees. It's nice to have this oasis in town. Showers cost a buck for 6 minutes. We had a pull-through. But the back-in sites looked pretty easy to get into. We have family nearby. So we'll definitely be back. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Love this park, my favorite park in the Denver area. The west gate exits to the DTC area - tons of great restaurants. Easy access to groceries out main gate. Park setting is spectacular, with full views of the front range of the Colorado Rockies. Reservoir was a little low but still pretty. Big sites and clean facilities. Huge cottonwood trees and tons of wildlife; deer, coyote, squirrels. Very popular park in summer, hard to get reservations over the weekends. Only negative is paying the high day-use fee along with the daily camping fee. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Super roads in this state park all asphalt. Sites are large with concrete pads. Patios are crushed gravel dirt and bordered with concrete. Large picnic table. Fireplace with grill. Many sites with well developed trees for shade and many without for satellite, but you reserve through Reserve America and they don't have info on which are good for your desires. Rate is great till you remember that you need a $9/day pass for the park. Very large, clean, well maintained park with great biking, boating and walking jogging. Very close to Denver, with lite rail option. Excellent big rig access, but be careful at entrance gate. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

I cannot think of any other state park camping this well maintained and this close to an urban area in the United States. We drove our car into Denver but noted public transportation (park and ride) is nearby. This is a very popular park, so summer reservations must be made far in advance. Cherry Creek has a very active volunteer program and it shows. Everything is spotless. Full heated hook ups, unusual for Colorado. Miles of paved roads for biking. A center for outdoor activity for the urban area so something always happening. Daily entrance fee is expensive but we bought a Colorado State Park pass which will pay for itself quickly when you are going to spend anytime camping in the state. This is not a stupendously beautiful state park, but on a long RV trip its nice to have a clean laundry, ready access to grocery, a night out in the city, and great internet service.
