Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 weeks - 18 miles east of Durango. Well managed and maintained park. Mostly short term residents but a few long term but you would never know it. Park accented with hundreds of flowers attracting countless hummingbirds - had 5 at one time at our feeder with others jockeying to get in. Ample space between rigs. Hookups in good working condition. Had a long pull-through with sufficient room to park our truck. Spaces and wide roads are gravel - dust not a factor.

Trout stream runs through the park with several ponds - great fishing and swimming for kids. A large meadow at the back of the park with a yak and an alpaca (?) that you can feed. No fenced dog area but most people were letting dogs run in the meadow. Management protective of the grass and will get you to move your mat or vehicle if they are on the grass. Portable fire pits are available although limited - ask for one. Highway is close - did not present a noise factor for us although some rigs were parked much closer to the road. Large grassy area by the office for tents and playing Frisbee.

Gas station, grocery store and restaurants are only two miles away. Brenda's is great for breakfast. Downtown Bayfield is small with a few places to eat and several bars. Wi-Fi and television were excellent throughout the park - had no problems. Park is quiet. We experienced a lot of social activity. There are big trees throughout the park - not every unit has shaded - no trees in our space (#37).

East check in - staff friendly and helpful. Owner lives at park - very friendly and available. When coach next to us was sprayed by water from sprinklers owner apologized and personally wiped down the coach to owner's satisfaction. Limited RV supplies in office. Ice available. There is a well-stocked RV supply and repair shop in Durango along with Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Albertsons and other well-known stores.

Highly recommend - will return with our 23-footer. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Durango - Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a great experience, however the 8 hour round trip to and from Silverton is a little long for kids - only have 1 hour and 20 minutes in Silverton - ride train one way and bus back. Mesa Verde is a must experience. Red Mountain pass is breathtakingly beautiful. Lots of fishing in area. Old Town Durango is great. Area has lots of things to see and do.

This is indeed a wonderful RV Park. The grounds are immaculate with freshly planted flowers and grass patches to give it that homey feeling. The creek has a swimming hole and fishing open to everyone. They escort you to your site and the staff is constantly circulating the grounds to make sure all is well. I had a low tire and the owner quickly got out his high pressure air pump to get it back up to operating pressure. The sites are roomy with a convenient grouping of the utilities in the rear. Close enough to Durango to take in all there is to do there as well. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Don't miss Lake Vallecito just North of Bayfield. The Bottom Shelf Brewery in downtown Bayfield is a great place to eat and sample some excellent craft brews.

Gravel roads, gravel pads, blotchy grass, very dusty from vehicles, near highway, lots of road construction workers, many junky RV's. 1 trash container for entire park (overflowing). Picnic table next to neighbors sewer connection! Bayfield has little to offer... We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

There is a Walmart on the way into Durango but, traffic is a real zoo around Durango, Old Town, etc. Some roads are one number going in one direction and another number going in the opposite direction!

A beautiful and well maintained private RV Park! The rate was fair and the people serving the campers were all delightful. We will most definitely stay here again when we are in this area.

The grounds are beautiful with a stream running through the facility...fishing in a private pond...everything you see on their website it true and you will get what you expect! We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park is located about 10 miles from Durango and about 20 miles from Pagosa Springs...lots of places to go and things to see within easy driving distance! Perfect!!! And for those who like to play the slots there is a casino in Ignacio just a short drive from Bayfield.

Incredible campground. One of our favorites so far. The owner is a very personable man, and helped us settle in. The sites were level and large enough for our 43' 5th wheel. Nice spacing between sites. Absolutely family-friendly. They have a yak, an alpaca, an excellent tree swing (huge!), fishing, and a swimming hole which the kids found quite fun. We were far enough away from the highway that we heard zero traffic. The restrooms and laundromat were clean and nice. Only 30 minutes from Durango, so a good way to experience it without having to stay in over-crowded campgrounds. Fire rings are available to use, but they only have a few, so bring your own if you want to be sure to have a fire. They just completed paving the entryway into the campground, so it was a smooth, easy ride into the campground. We would definitely stay here again! This is a lovely park-like campground with 2 ponds, walking paths, and artistically designed flower beds. The overall setting is idyllic. The sites are adequately sized and placed with attention to suggest a sense of privacy. The overall effect is a competently run and well cared for RV park. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A well-maintained park, roomy with lots of trees. Instead of the usual crushed concrete (which kicks up lots of concrete dust), the roads and the non-grass sites had actual gravel or river rock - a nice touch. Moderate road noise from the nearby highway. Laundry room had several-front loaders (one out-of-order), and two top-loaders, as well as 4 dryers.
WiFi was better than most parks; it was almost always usable, but somewhat slow and unstable on the weekend (dropped connection about every 30 - 60 minutes). I measured it at 0.7 Mbps down, 0.4 Mbps up on one day; 1.7 up, 0.5 down on another. Verizon cellular was surprisingly variable; when working it gave 6.8 Mbps down, 1.1 Mbps up, but didn't have a data signal at all on one day (even though it was good weather). We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is the weekly rate. Daily with Good Sam is $43. We loved this RV park. Many sites have grass, some are gravel. The sites are arranged in a haphazard way, but we had plenty of room. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there are ponds and the Pine River flows through the park. Catch and release fishing is allowed. The wifi is good most of the time. We had good Verizon cell and data. Electric was strong and good. A delightful surprise in Bayfield. Durango and Pagosa Springs are both close enough to be easy to visit. Good Dish signal in our site, some sites it would be difficult of impossible. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this park and highly recommend it. Beautifully landscaped with good wi fi and cable. No pool or exercise facilities. Carry your own trash to dumpster. All gravel; paved would be nice, but that's rare in Colorado. We were slightly unlevel but managed fine. We had an outside corner site which was nice. Catch and release in ponds gave kids a lot of fun. Owners very friendly. Very close to good restaurants. Fruits and vegetables sold by locals at front of park. A little road noise for us but more if you had a site close to the highway. Would definitely come back. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground. Flowers everywhere and very friendly owners and staff. I heard them helping someone who had their truck pulling horses break down and they put the horses in their corral and took them to the Ford dealer to pick up the truck when it was fixed. With the pond and streams running through, it's very peaceful and there are plenty of places to walk your dogs. We stayed here 9 nights. The only drawbacks were the street noise (if you can't get a spot on the water I wouldn't go) and if you want to put up a dog pen you need to ask for a gravel site or you won't have room. They don't want pens on the grass. And you have to ask for a fire ring if you want a campfire. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We just spent an overnight stop here. The park was full but the management cleared out a spot not normally rented so that we could have a place to stay. The park was clean and well managed. WIFI was adequate. It was well landscaped with a river/creek running thru the park. My wife wants to return and spend some time in this area on a future trip. This is a very nice park. It is well maintained and has a great staff. The sites are average. We were placed in a site backing up to the creek and it was nice. The park has creeks and ponds that may be fished on a catch and release basis. It offers cable TV and a good WiFi signal. The bathrooms and showers were immaculate and looked as though they had been redone recently. To say it is a resort type park may be stretch as their are no amenities other than cable TV and WiFi. The price was $285 a week, but for additional days were $43 a day bringing our total to $488 for 11 days. This would be almost a month stay at many other resorts. This is the only negative I can say about this park. Other than that it is very nice. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

What a gem! Our space was a back in right next to a trout stream. Lots of grass and well maintained. We came for two days and stayed ten. Excellent WiFi at no extra charge. Staff very nice, friendly and seemed ready to bend over backwards to be helpful. Several ponds and streams through the park that are fishable (catch & release) with no license required. One of the nicer parks we've stayed in during our 11 years on the road. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a pull-in site with a view of the pond. We saw a beaver, a hawk fly down and catch a fish and fly off with it, deer, it was a beautiful show! The staff were very helpful and courteous, our site was HUGE (again with that beautiful view!) and the grounds were very well kept. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Well managed and maintained park. We were escorted to our site. The man apologized for asking me to unhook before entering the site. He was concerned that the grass may be too wet and the ground too soft. Wi-Fi,cable, and laundry were very good. For us it was a good location, about 17 miles east of Durango. We are in a 32 ft. rig. We would stay there again. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.
