Nice location in the Poudre Canyon. Some sites are high about the river; therefore, not river sites as expected. There is significant road noise from the highway, especially during the summer. The river did provide some noise to block the road traffic, but it wasn't enough. Park was clean and well-kept. Ample vault toilets and water spigots throughout park. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

No cell service whatsoever at campground. You must hike to the top of Mt McConnel or drive 8 miles to the small town of Rustic to get a weak cell signal. No TV either (no signals). The river is wonderful though. Also, recommend you hike the moderate 4 mile trail(s) to the top of Mt McConnel. Lots of shade and trees at this campground. Showers were clean and reasonably priced. You can purchase firewood for $5 from the campground host.

Nice clean NFS campground. We were in spot #30, on the secluded electrical loop. Vault restrooms very clean and odor free. Showers were fifty cents and lots of hot water. We would stay here again. I use a CPAP machine so it is nice to have electric. No cell service. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Travel Trailer.

As other reviews have pointed out, this is an outstanding campground, offering electric and dry sites. There are 4 loops -- Bear and McConnell loops have electric hookups. All the sites appeared to be level, the site we had certainly was. Paved interior roads, gravel pull thru and back in sites. Well spaced between sites. Hosts are excellent at keeping the CG well maintained and clean. Firewood available from the hosts. Non-threaded water faucets available throughout the CG, efficient fire grates for the sites. Challenging hike from the CG, the Kreutzer Trail, with interpretive information, and the McConnell trail that reaches Mt. McConnell -- elevation gain from 6600 feet to just over 8000 feet in a 4 mile loop. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Travel Trailer.

This campground offers the ultimate in outdoor experiences plus it has electric hook ups, paved roads, pay showers and plenty of activities including horseshoes, volley ball and a playground. There is wonderful hiking, birdwatching, animal viewing and fishing. We saw 5 moose. The Visitor Center 3 miles west the campground will help you plan your activities. The hosts also are very helpful and keep the place neat. There is no cell service, WiFi or dump. If they are important to you then you might not be happy campers. These things are not important to me. MT Park is about enjoying the outdoors. If this is what you are looking for don't miss this place. Electric sites are on the reservation system. Dry camp sites are first come. This is a very busy place all summer. Make reservations for electric sites or for dry sites arrive Sunday-Thursday. Golden Pass holders get $10 off the base rate of $20. Electric is $5 for all. So I got this little piece of heaven for $15 a night. You betcha I'll be back. Thanks to the review on this great USFS cg, we decided to try it out and lucked into an E site for 2 nights. You really do need to make reservations if you want the few hookups. The regular rate for E sites is $23, dry camp $18. Wonderful place up the canyon, friendly hosts. Showers were quick 25c and hot. But cell, broadband and TV won't work. Worth it to be here. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Motorhome.

This was my best all time camping experience. This place is beautiful. There are many campsites on the river, however the electric sites are not. All thirty-three of the electric sites are reserve-able. The campground fills every weekend and some week days. There is fishing and hiking in the area and rafting a bit further downstream. You can also just go and listen to the river. There is minor traffic sounds mostly drowned out by the river. The hosts are great and the campground spotless. The only down side is the last 7 miles up to the campground. They are white knuckles. I camped in a tent but plan to bring my travel trailer next time. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

We have camped at this campground 3 times and enjoyed each and every one of our stays here. The campground is located along the Cache La Poudre River inside Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest well away from the main highway on the opposite side of the river. Campsites are large and roomy, none are on 'top of each other' with plenty of room. Sites are level with pea-gravel, picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads at each campsite. There is a separate picnic area located right next to the river in the tall trees, very lovely. This campground has a lot of trees, so you can have shade. The restrooms are vaulted toilets, but kept very clean. There is a large shower-house, coined operated showers. Large playground, volleyball/basketball courts, HUGE Pavilion (totally enclosed) with a fireplace, tables that groups can rent to use. Large group tent-area with central fire-ring. Only electric is available here; no water or sewer hook-ups but water faucets are located throughout the campground to refill water. Make sure to make reservations early for summer weekends. They fill up fast. There are some '1st come-1st serve' campsites available. We camped here in a Pop-Up w/side-out and had plenty of room at the campsites. We love our stays at Mountain Park Campground and will certainly camp here again. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Tent Trailer.
