Showed up on my motorcycle needing a tent site, the people running the park were super nice and very helpful. Place was very clean, nice showers, great people. Stayed one night on my way to my destination, and made sure to stop on the way back. They were having a hog roast for local people and invited me to join in. Met a lot of very nice local people and will definitely stay there again when I get out that way again. Highly recommend this park. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Tent.

Booked this campground after reading other reviews. Very disappointed upon arrival. Staff disorganized, spaces extremely close to another. Basically a dirty parking lot with hookups. Moved out after 1st night. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

After looking at all the other parks in the area this was the best but has some drawbacks. We had reservations but then could not hookup to 50 amp because of shared utilities. They did offer us a dry site with electric only for only two nights instead of the week we planned on. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. There is a train that passes right behind the park but only comes by a few times a day. It is very loud but didn't bother us at night. There is a lot of road noise since the park is right beside the busy highway but also did not bother us at night either. If I had to stay in this area again I might stay again. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great sand dunes national park is great but there is little else to do. The cafe in town was ok with reasonable prices.

This is a small park right off the main road in Blanca. Most of the spaces have permanent residents. The back in spots next to the road appear to be the ones used for the short term patrons. There are a few pull thru spots on the next row over. We had site #10 which was a pull thru. We were able to keep our 30' TT and TV connected, but we barely fit in the spot. All spots are gravel and there were multiple low spots with standing water on the roads and in some of the spots. Electrical connections are shared between adjacent spots. There is a single 50 amp, 30 amp connection and the 20 amp double outlet. If the person in the spot next to you is already connected and uses the same plug, you need to have an adapter to connect to one of the other outlets. The staff was extremely friendly. There is good wifi. There is a laundry room and restroom. There are 2 shower rooms that require a code to access. Unless you need hookups, you might enjoy dry camping on BLM land just North of town about 10 miles on CO 150. Head North West on Hwy 160 and turn north on CO 150. You will see the entrance to the BLM land about 3 miles up on CO 150 on your right. (GPS: 37.526985, -105.593536) We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Last post pretty much covered it. Our site #10 was about 75 feet from busy highway with heavy truck traffic. Site 10 was gravel all around. Auto leveling done in short order - pretty level, good water pressure and EMS was happy with 50 amp service. Local water was good for cleaning windshield and bugs off front with no water spotting. Our space was side-by-side and had to park our toad in part of empty space on the other side. An older park, lowest price in area. Overall suitable for quick overnight stop but not much else. Picnic table shared with neighbor. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

OK Park for overnight. The couple in the office were very friendly and helpful. Sites are tight and trees could use some serious trimming. There's a lot of junk in the park, u haul trailers and a railroad tracks out back. Site was barely long enough for our 30' 5th wheel and truck. This older Park has a lot of potential but needs a lot of cleaning up. We probably would not stay again because it was tight. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners and Managers are very helpful kind, and awesome! They went out of their way to help us. I found out I had stage 4 breast cancer when we were staying there. They let us stay for a whole year while I was in treatment. They helped me and other campers with holiday meals, barbecues, etc. when I was too tired, they brought me meals. They checked on me, and kept my spirits up while going through chemo. stay there, I highly recommend it! You won't find nicer people! Open year round. Place to walk and run your dog. They have a nice little store, including necessary items, like sewer hoses, batteries, charcoal, lighter fluid, groceries, water, soda's, ice, bread, etc. They also have a gas station, and lower priced propane refill. Full hookups. And nice tents. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I thought the campground was very nice when you take into consideration where you are and the short season they have. We looked at other campgrounds and felt this one was the nicest in the area. You do get some road noise throughout the day as highway 160 is busy and you are right next to it. But you easily get adjusted to that and it quiets down at night. Bathroom and shower were acceptable. A lot of space to take your pets for a walk. There is a store on site as well as gasoline and propane. Sites are reasonably large. What was really nice was a wi-fi that was strong and never a problem! We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

We spent two days in area. Did the Sand Dunes, Reptile Rescue, Stations of the Cross and drove over to Manassa where Jack Dempsey was born. They have some wonderful parks to take a break and have lunch.

We stayed here because it was central to friends who summer in the mountains east of Fort Garland and the Great Sand Dunes National Park (GSDNP). Blanca is a very small town with few amenities. However, Fort Garland (around 4 miles to the east) has all the basics including diesel (which wasn't available in Blanca) and at least one good restaurant (All Gone) with a nice salad and soup bar. As others have indicated, this park is located adjacent to a fairly heavily traveled road (Hwy. 160) and not far from a railroad track, but the latter has limited use. The location is high desert with limited shade and a good bit of dust during at least July. I made reservations months in advance but these were apparently lost by a young lady who is no longer employed here. The owner wasn't particularly friendly or apologetic , but he did find me a spot at the entrance to the park with no shade or privacy. Had we not arrived late on a Friday afternoon (nor had nearby friends we planned to visit), we would have looked elsewhere (like Alamosa) for another park. The restrooms weren't particularly clean and the men's wasn't being resupplied with paper products on a regular basis. The best thing about this park was it fast, free WiFi and its proximity to GSDNP. The rate reflects a 7-day stay where the 7th day is free. We would not stay here again. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Small, old RV park on the main road, hwy 160. Gas station, convenience store, propane. Lots of empty sites so easy to get a spot. Trees are mature and provide ample shade. It's okay for a couple of nights. Visit Great Sand Dunes National Park. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a no frills campground. I used my Passport America membership and paid $16.00 a night for full hookups. The person that checked me in was polite and friendly. The wifi was fast. The hookups worked great. We used the campground as a homebase to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge & the UFO Watchtower. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very basic but FHU utilities worked well. WiFi was fast. Only one or two 50 amp sites. Sites are very short. We have a big rig and we hung out on both ends of a pull through with the truck hooked up but was OK for 2 nights in off season. We used a 50 amp site close to the store. Any other site and I'm not sure we could have maneuvered it. Bottom line, this place is fine (if you fit) for a night or two to visit the Dunes. Did not check out the shower or bathroom. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I've stayed here 3 times now. There is no cell service except at the hot spot at the office. Wi-Fi is just OK. The spots are treeless but your DirecTV will work perfectly. I do like the river, quiet location and the owners. If you want a basic quiet place with clean bathrooms and showers this is your place. No frills, No noise, No hassles. Can't beat relaxing like this. Tent area looks good. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights using Passport America. It’s a dump, yes. There’s a major highway on one side and train tracks on the other side, yes. The highway was a bit noisy at times but didn’t wake any of us from sleeping. The train only came through once before we went to bed, so that didn’t bother us at all. The Wi-Fi was flying. It’s as close as you can get to Great Sand Dunes National Park without dry camping inside the park. Great Sand Dunes is now one of our favorite National Parks. We spent 6 hours there and didn’t want to leave. For 2 nights, this campground is fine. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
