This is a wonderful park to get away from it all! It is not a long drive from Boulder or Ft. Collins, but it feels very isolated and is certainly quiet. It is possible to reserve half the sites, but when we were there it was not crowded and during the week we had the place practically to ourselves. I didn't find it busy with day visitors like the last reviewer, in fact we rarely saw another soul. The only downside is that there is not much to do here, just a short hiking trail by the creek. We got a decent Verizon data signal and cell reception. We camped at Crow Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Pawnee Buttes are about 45 minutes drive from here and well worth seeing. It is a three-mile hike out and back and, particularly at sunse,t the views are marvelous.

The rate reflects a 50% senior discount. Be aware that, if you come in from the east, there is no gas fro 60 miles so get gas before you head out. Based on the other reviews and the location, we had expected a very isolated, quiet camping spot. It was not. It was a busy park with many day visitors and many drive through visitors. Perhaps a part of the issue was that it was Memorial Day, but even after that it was busy. It is a popular birding spot, so gets lots of visitors for birding. Sites 2 through 5 are first-come, the others can be reserved. Sites 4 & 5 and sites 6 & 7 are double sites. We got site 2, which had some shade. The sites are pleasant and are very well separated. There is some vegetation for visual separation for a few of the sites. The interior roads and sites are gravel. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. The scenery is nice with great sunrise and sunset. There is quite a bit of road noise from passing trucks, but it did not destroy the experience. We were able to get satellite with our off-the-coach dish. Verizon phone and data (4G) were strong. There is no dump station. There is fresh water and the bib does have threads for filling a tank, but it is difficult to get to and would require a long hose; it is best to arrive with full tanks and plan on carrying out all waste water. There are pit toilets, which we did not use. There are no showers. There is a short hiking trail from the campground. There is a 21 mile, driving bird trail not far from the campground. It is a pleasant drive, particularly early in the morning or late afternoon. It is good to find or download a map for the birding trail as the backcountry roads can be a bit confusing. There are camp hosts but we saw little of them and they knew very little about the area. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Crow Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

All the previous reviewers are spot on. This is a lovely out of the way oasis. The spots are well spaced and very level. We backed to the creek and had wonderful shade. The vault toilets were very clean. There is water available, but without a threaded spigot, so come with a full tank. There is no dumpstation either. Our price reflects the golden access discount. We camped at Crow Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is a 10. Nearly all of the sites have big mature trees. Sites are level. Each with a picnic table and fire ring. Best of all is the amount of space. Probably 50+ feet between sites if not more. Plenty of places to walk. Lots of birds if that is your thing. Solid Verizon signal. Only vault toilets but they were very clean. But come stocked up as there is only a small grocery in Briggsdale. We camped at Crow Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is simple. Water is available at only one area. There are only ten sites, only five of which are "first-come-first-served." Reservations can be made via phone or online, but it's a bit vague on the website. There are birds galore here and the Grassland is a well-known birding area. The bathroom was dirty and had no TP when I arrived. After two days, the "Hosts", who did wave, cleaned and re-supplied them. There are a few short birding trails here. It's an out of the way spot, but the only campground that I could find in Northeast Colorado. There is excellent Verizon service, due to the closeness to Greeley, CO. Lots of nice tall poplar trees give some sites excellent shade. I used my "Geezer Card" to get half off the going rate. You'll like the peace and quiet. We camped at Crow Valley Campground in a Motorhome.
