We had an unplanned visit at this resort. Enroute to Durango from Colorado Springs on the Labor Day weekend, we ran into truck problems; pulled into this campground who graciously gave us a site when they were extremely busy. This campground has beautiful level sites.

The best thing about our stay here was customer service. One of the workers, Clyde, volunteered to follow us into town when we brought our truck to the local car dealer and wait to drive us back to the resort in case we needed to leave the truck there, we did BTW. Not only did he wait for us but came around later to see if we needed anything else. We needed to go into town later to run errands and were going to get a cab; Clyde's wife Becky said no need to, Clyde would drive us, he graciously did.

The service and help we received at this resort was second to none. We will most definitely be back.

If you're looking for a tidy, clean, well maintained campground in Canon City, this is the one to go. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great campground, and would do a 9 1/2 if that was an option. We loved our spot, one of the best in the park as luck would have it! Beautiful view at the end of the row. The customer service was over the top excellent when we called to reserve, and when we were there. They led us to our spot, and even cleaned the nice picnic table while we were getting situated -- VERY nice touch!

The two things that stopped us from giving this a 10 are, first; there is room, but no fenced in dog run. It really helps a lot to be able to throw a ball and have your dog off leash in a safe place after long travel day or sight seeing day. Second, their policy is to charge $10 to stay past checkout up till 1:00. When you arrive 4 hours after check in, and want 2 hours after check out (and the space is available) why have a policy to charge more? Many campgrounds do it, but it's annoying. *On a side note, the owner without us asking, allowed us to stay alittle extra for free and we appreciated that.

Wifi worked, like most campgrounds slow at times. Loved our fire pit and nice concrete pad to the side of our RV. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

GREAT dog kennel just next door. www.8mileranchcolorado.com Owners really care, dogs were tired and happy and it's very clean. LOVED being able to drop them off while we did a gold mine tour in Cripple Creek for ht the day. (Awesome tour by the way!)

Prison tour was well worth it too. Lots to see and do in the area, look forward to coming back.

This is one of the best parks I have ever had the pleasure to visit. We were running late, and the park called to check our arrival so they could meet us. When we arrived, the owner met us in a golf cart and directed us to our site. He helped me back in and assisted with hooking up the rig. The site was IMMACULATE. Huge concrete pad with picnic table, beautiful landscaping on both sides, lots of room between sites, BEAUTIFUL view of the mountains. Deep concrete fire pit. Laundry room was spotless. Nice playground for the kids with a basketball hoop, horseshoe pits, slide, swings. It is obvious that these owners take pride in the appearance of their park and the service they provide. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Echo Canyon River Expeditions is the place to go for river rafting. Very well run organization with great guides.

This is a very well maintained park with large level sites. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The park is close to Royal Gorge, and although it is located along Hwy 50, the road noise at night was hardly noticeable. We were very pleased with the size of our site and the large concrete patio. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

After staying at Mountain View RV Resort campground I re-read the reviews of this park. Everyone looks at campgrounds with a different pair of eyes. Other than a "patio" consisting of a narrow strip of concrete there appeared to be little difference between the tier pricing structures. The entire park was on crushed gravel. There are 7 "standard" sites, all but one were pull-thru's. The electrical box was shared between two sites. We had just enough electrical cord to reach the box. The sewer and water valve were in the correct position. Our site was not particularly leveled. Getting out of our site was a little tricky but double. The electrical voltage was good - hovering around 122 volts. There are (2) washers @ $1.50 and (4) dryers @ $1.00 for ~45 minutes. Cold water and permanent press only and the dryers were very hot. I would rate the bathroom slightly above the ones found in state parks. The bathroom was made of cinder bock and the interior walls had peeling paint. The floor also had peeling paint with pipes running throughout the bathroom. This is definitely not the type of bathroom I would expect in a "resort". There are two campgrounds within the Canon City that charge you for coming in early. If you come in before check-in (1 P.M.) they can charge up to $20 extra. I guess their excuse for charging is that you are using additional electricity, water, etc. We normally leave a campground before 9 A.M. Does that mean we can get a rebate since we are leaving before the departure time? If we don't use the dump can we also ask for a refund? This seems to be just another way to extract money from their customers. We have been full timing for over 6 years and have never experienced a surcharge for early check-in. I hope this does not become a trend. Even though this is a tourist area we felt that this campground was over priced. Our rate reflected a 10% discount because they gave us a price quote over the phone before they discontinued ALL discounts. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We travel a lot as we are Prison Ministry that goes across the country. I looked for a RV Park in Canon City and read reviews....settled on this one. I am so glad I did. Large lots, level spaces, patios...the fire pits are a little too deep and they are concrete so the fire can't breath, but I understand the need for that. The winds here coming off the mountains can be pretty wild. But it didn't make for a great campfire. But everything else here is awesome. Clean, well kept. Very friendly and helpful staff. We looked around at some other parks while we were here and we are so glad we chose this one. We were here days and really enjoyed it...kind of hate to leave!

Tips for other Campers:

They have some Premium sites with a covered picnic table. To us it was worth the extra money for the shade.

After paying for our one night stay, a man in a golf cart very kindly showed us to our site. Even though the site appeared clean, he wiped the table off and helped with backing in. The site was very level with a nice shade tree and the view was great with no road noise. I used the laundromat the next morning which was also clean. We will come on our next trip through Canon City. Thank you. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park near Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. The interior roads and sites are fresh gravel and there are two areas to walk dogs (neither are fenced). Our pull-through site was level, and the Wi-Fi signal was strong and reliable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating allowing us a very early check-in to get to a zip line tour on time.

The sites are spacious and there is very nice new landscaping throughout; there is not much shade yet since the trees are small (recently planted). There is a very nice lounge area and shaded patio near the office with a grill, group fire pit, and several game areas (basketball, shuffleboard, and others). The bathrooms are a bit small and basic, but very clean and functional. Several of the sites have covered concrete patios with picnic tables. Our site had a concrete patio and picnic table but was not covered.

Based on driving around and looking at other campgrounds in the area, this looks like one of the best. We would definitely stay here again when in this area. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Royal Gorge Zip Line Tours was excellent and the White Water Bar & Grill had very good food and a great outside dining area. The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park was very impressive.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They meet you as you pull in and immediately take you to your site. Go check in when convenient. Lots of room for big rigs - easy to maneuver around. Got a premium site - concrete patio and fire pit - good value. Great views. Exceptionally clean. Fantastic dog kennel directly next door. About 6 miles from Canon City - Florence nearby. This area of Colorado is just beautiful. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Reflects weekly rate for a deluxe site. One of the nicest RV parks we've been at. We were guided to our site and assisted in parking so we would step onto patio from our RV. Strong WIFI, but no TV. Bring your Dish or Directv. At our site the electric and water were on the passenger side of the coach; had to buy an extra water hose. The staff was friendly and really helped us picking sights to see and activities to do. Will stay here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The train ride through the Royal Gorge was great; we took the morning trip and then did the attractions at the gorge.

The park is located in a valley surrounded by mountains so it is very appropriately named. Our sight was a back in although we were told it would be a pull through. The site was very nice and meticulously clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful. My car battery lost its charge and he gave me the use of his battery charger over night. Also, you can tell that he takes great pride in the park and is constantly working to maintain and improve things. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take drive through the gorge and along side the Arkanas river beautiful scenery and great fun watching the river rafters hit the Rapids.

Stayed here in one of the premium spots, excellent location. Sites are crushed stone, concrete patio next door and shaded picnic table, and fire pit. Utilities worked well, wifi was strong. Located about 7-8 miles west of Canon City on Hwy 50, no noticeable road noise.

Large. well-appointed lounge, small store. Owner and hosts were outstanding. Recommended an excellent pet-sitter next door, worked out well. Two washing machines and dryers, could have used more when we were there. Owner has been upgrading significantly, will get even better.

Sites 10, 11 and 33 have great views out to the mountains. We would definitely return if in the area. An outstanding park with an involved owner. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Canon City has two major supermarkets, City Market better than the Safeway. Several good restaurants, an interesting historic downtown, and a good number of major chain stores. The Royal Gorge Railroad was interesting, but disappointing in that there was no narration or descriptive brochure about the 2 hour trip. There's lots of outdoor activities available- hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, fishing, etc.

The owners of this park really know what the words "customer service" means. We were greeted by the park owner in his golf cart, as we pulled into the registration parking area. I didn't even have to get out of the motor home. He promptly escorted us to our upgraded site, and helped with parking and hook ups. Said to go by the office when we were settled, and take care of the paperwork. Lots of space between sites, WiFi worked great, and it's obvious at how meticulously the park is maintained. When you experience great service, and a park that is really well cared for, price becomes secondary. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is awesome! From the time we arrive to until the moment we leave we are pampered. Whether it's the camp host that escorts you to your spot to help you back in, or the owners offering to help in any way, this camp ground will leave you with the feeling of value, amenities and friendship. We always have a great time playing one of the many games like horse shoes, bocce ball, basketball etc. There is plenty of good water pressure and 50 amp service everywhere. The landscaping is just beautiful as well as the scenery of the surrounding mountains. There is a ton to do nearby too. Go carts, festivals, Royal Gorge, Segway tours, zip lining, good restaurants and much much more. We have two boys, 14 and 5 and they just love it. We'll be back very soon! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the go carts and Segway tours that are about one mile away.
