One of the few parks we rate as a 10. Very clean, well cared for, open, and easy to navigate, even for big rigs. The campground is less than 10 miles from Canon City, near the turn off to Royal Gorge. The park entrance is just off the highway. Price is a rally rate for 7 nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The host escorted us to our site and helped us park. He then cleaned the picnic table and made sure the electric was ready for us to connect. The entire park is gravel as is the site space for the rig. We stayed at a "premium" site that had a patio and concrete walk. They have a clubhouse and a very nice outdoor patio for meetings/gatherings. This is the nicest campground in the area, highly recommended. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The RV park is as promised.Ther greet you upon arrival, lead you into the site and you check in later. The owner and work campers are friendly, helpful and well informed about the area. The site we had was a pull in with a nice concrete patio and walkway. During the time we were there 2 rallies came and went. As previously stated no tv but they are 5 miles out of town. We did the train ride, went to Cripple Creek, walked in town on the river trail, the tunnel trail and all were nice. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is the best park in the Royal Gorge area. New owner has beautifully landscaped the park; even though it's on a hill, the gravel sites are level. The owners live on site and are RVers, so they are aware of what RV owners want in a campground. Propane available. Wi fi pretty good most of the time; no TV at all. Small lending library. Bathrooms need some work, but new bathrooms and showers are apparently on the schedule for next year. We started out in a premium pull through but had to move to a back in in order to stay longer. We were expertly guided into our sites both times. There is almost no shade, and it is very hot in the day. Trees have been planted, but that's going to take some time. It is difficult to use an awning, because there is no place to anchor it, since sites have a large concrete patio beside the gravel site. Our site got the full brunt of the sun all day long, making the patio really unusable. Staff was very friendly and were around all the time. All utilities were great. Campfires are allowed; each site has a fire pit. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Canon City is only 7 miles away with many good restaurants. We had excellent breakfasts at Village Inn, Mr. Ed's, and Mug's Coffee Cafe. There is also an IHop at the far end of town close to Wal Mart. Florence is about 7 miles from Canon City and has great antique shops with some really nice pieces. We also enjoyed riding the train through the Royal Gorge. If you buy your tickets at the campground, you get a small discount.

A great facility close to town and very near the Royal Gorge. Large sites, level, clean, excellent electric, water and sewer. They wipe down the picnic table as each new camper moves into their site. Great views of the surrounding mountains. We will come here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice campground with gravel roads and pads. It has a huge entrance right on US 50, and is close to Royal Gorge and about 8 miles from Canon City and shopping. We had a nice premium back-in site with a concrete patio, picnic table, and fire pit. While the site was long enough, we had to be careful of the log marking the site in back when we leveled. The park has wide roads which made navigation easy, and no large trees to interfere with satellite. We found the wifi to work very well for us. We will stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is well kept and clean. Sites and roads are all gravel. Some sites have nice concrete slabs for picnic table. Staff was always friendly and helpful. There is no over-the-air television, nor cable so you are dependent on your own satellite service. There are trees but very few shaded sites. We had lots of wind anywhere from 10-30 mph so rarely were able to keep our patio awning out. Canon City is 7 miles away. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Canon City has a few good restaurants we found - Dirito's and El Caporal. City Market grocery store had an excellent selection of fresh produce. We enjoyed visiting Florence, CO for their Thursday Farmers Market then ate at Aspen Leaf Cafe and Bakery. The River walk is very nice for walking or biking.

This is another one of those camps that calls itself a resort, but is definitely not a resort. We booked a pull through with the husband who handed us to his wife to complete booking, which was a painful process due to noise in their reception area. Having been told to wait for an escort to our site, they forgot about us and after 20 odd minutes and a reminder, we received an apology for this, we then ended up with a back in by the highway, looking at a fence. To the Manager's credit they did give us some money for supper that night as an apology for forgetting to escort us. The sites are tidy, reasonably large and have nice concrete pads/patios. However, this is where the resort bit ends - there are no amenities other than the very old small & crappy bathrooms with only two showers, one in the men's out of order and two toilets, one in the ladies out of order. To top this off, as our site was by the office, one of the long term residents felt it was okay to walk through our site several times during our stay. The road noise started at around 4am but if you have a site further down the hill away from the highway it would be okay. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful new, clean park close to Canon City and area attractions. Ample room drive-through for our 34-footer. Level and good service in the correct spot with a nice patio. Some spots had a covered patio. Friendly helpful owner and staff. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Beware of GPS routing. We have a Good Sam GPS and twice while there routed us onto inappropriate county back roads to nowhere. This camp is easily located on Hwy 50 6-7 miles SW on Canon City, Co.

We stayed in one of the premium sites in this park. The WiFi was excellent. No cable tv. We did have a beautiful view from our motorhome. There was a nice concrete patio with a picnic table plus a fire ring. The site was spacious, but we were surprised that the pet area was right next to our site. A few of the other campers would walk their dogs in the grass right in front of our motor home. I think it would help if there were some type of border/fence reminding people that they are walking on a person's campsite.

We did use the showers a few times. I think they could use a little work. Also, in the ladies restroom there were two toilet stalls. One stall was out of order the 5 days we were here. In the men's bathroom one of the two shower stalls was also out of order the 5 days we were here. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Canon City is 7 miles to the east of the campground. The campground is convenient to the Royal Gorge, Royal Gorge Railroad and many other local tourist attractions.

For future reference I would probably stay in one of the pull thru sites located in the middle of the park. We were gone most of the time so I think that would have worked better for us plus we would have saved some money.

This campground is a great choice for those who want to spend a few days in the Canon City/Royal Gorge area. It has easy access off the highway and the campground roads were wide and easy to maneuver. Our pull-in campsite was plenty long for our motorhome and very level. We had a great view of the mountains. The staff were friendly and helpful, even shoveling our concrete patio when it snowed! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed three nights in our 45' motorhome. We did unhook our truck before we went to our site. Easy to negotiate the park. Great views from almost all sites. Level gravel sites with good utilities. Almost all sites have concrete patios and a fire pit. Owner is on site and takes pride in his park. Lots to do in Canon City so plan on spending a few days. If you take the Royal Gorge Train buy the tickets at the park and save $5 per ticket. Great park and we will be back. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We had an unplanned visit at this resort. Enroute to Durango from Colorado Springs on the Labor Day weekend, we ran into truck problems; pulled into this campground who graciously gave us a site when they were extremely busy. This campground has beautiful level sites.

The best thing about our stay here was customer service. One of the workers, Clyde, volunteered to follow us into town when we brought our truck to the local car dealer and wait to drive us back to the resort in case we needed to leave the truck there, we did BTW. Not only did he wait for us but came around later to see if we needed anything else. We needed to go into town later to run errands and were going to get a cab; Clyde's wife Becky said no need to, Clyde would drive us, he graciously did.

The service and help we received at this resort was second to none. We will most definitely be back.

If you're looking for a tidy, clean, well maintained campground in Canon City, this is the one to go. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great campground, and would do a 9 1/2 if that was an option. We loved our spot, one of the best in the park as luck would have it! Beautiful view at the end of the row. The customer service was over the top excellent when we called to reserve, and when we were there. They led us to our spot, and even cleaned the nice picnic table while we were getting situated -- VERY nice touch!

The two things that stopped us from giving this a 10 are, first; there is room, but no fenced in dog run. It really helps a lot to be able to throw a ball and have your dog off leash in a safe place after long travel day or sight seeing day. Second, their policy is to charge $10 to stay past checkout up till 1:00. When you arrive 4 hours after check in, and want 2 hours after check out (and the space is available) why have a policy to charge more? Many campgrounds do it, but it's annoying. *On a side note, the owner without us asking, allowed us to stay alittle extra for free and we appreciated that.

Wifi worked, like most campgrounds slow at times. Loved our fire pit and nice concrete pad to the side of our RV. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

GREAT dog kennel just next door. www.8mileranchcolorado.com Owners really care, dogs were tired and happy and it's very clean. LOVED being able to drop them off while we did a gold mine tour in Cripple Creek for ht the day. (Awesome tour by the way!)

Prison tour was well worth it too. Lots to see and do in the area, look forward to coming back.

This is one of the best parks I have ever had the pleasure to visit. We were running late, and the park called to check our arrival so they could meet us. When we arrived, the owner met us in a golf cart and directed us to our site. He helped me back in and assisted with hooking up the rig. The site was IMMACULATE. Huge concrete pad with picnic table, beautiful landscaping on both sides, lots of room between sites, BEAUTIFUL view of the mountains. Deep concrete fire pit. Laundry room was spotless. Nice playground for the kids with a basketball hoop, horseshoe pits, slide, swings. It is obvious that these owners take pride in the appearance of their park and the service they provide. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
