The owners live at the campground and the campground hosts are friendly. Lovely, large patios and excellent gravel that does not create dust. Views of the mountains. The only complaint is that their cancellation policy is a bit draconian. If you don't cancel two weeks ahead of time, you lose your fee for the entire stay, even if you only booked for a few nights. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Canon city is a good location, although hot in the summer. September is great. There are back roads to Cripple Creek and to Victor, hiking trails, a nice riverwalk trail for walking or riding bicycle, a Farmer's market every Tuesday and a concert in the park weekly. Nice drives available up to Westcliffe or west to Salida and north to Buena vista. The campground is about eight miles west of Canon City and is cooler than in town.

Good location to explore area from. Stayed 5 nights and visited Canon City, Salida and Leadville. Staff very helpful, even unhooked my tow. Keep the park spotless. No pool but not a problem for us. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is delightful. The owners/operators were very helpful with our reservation and greeted us in the drive when we arrived. We extended our stay with no problem. The showers are the best! Our site was a pull in site facing an open pasture allowing us to leave the front curtains open to enjoy the morning sunrise. Tow vehicle parking is separate and right next to the RV. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Everything was perfectly manicured, and the views were awesome. I've never experienced such amazing service at a campground before. Someone even came and wiped down our picnic table while we were setting up. I wish we could've stayed longer! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Right near the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. (For $10 they allowed us to leave our camper on the day of check-out so that we didn't have to navigate the right roads leading to the Gorge.)

We stay often at Mountain View RV Resort because it is clean, well maintained, large sites, and the staff and owner are the best. Concrete pads and fire pits are available. The Resort sites are organized extremely well. We never feel crowded even when the Resort is full. There is much to do in the area. The staff is excellent in providing information. We have tried many RV parks in the area and none compare. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

PROS: The campground was very clean and well kept including all restrooms, showers, RV pads, parking spots, and even our fire pit that didn't have a single ash when when we got there. The entire staff was very polite and easy to deal with. We stayed on the western border of the campground and the sunsets were truly spectacular. It is very close to the Royal Gorge and Skyline Drive, and is not far from town. Full hookups at the sites that were fully functional and easy to use. Separate parking for tow vehicle next to RV site. Discount tickets to the Royal Gorge Bridge park also a plus. CONS: Campground is on the HWY so there is road noise and there was a loud band playing nearby one night though we were told that was not normal. The water that they truck in has a very strong chlorine taste and not great for cooking or coffee. All in all a great experience and I would suggest staying there if you are passing through or visiting the Gorge. Not a wilderness experience but they don't pretend to be. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Staff friendly and knowledgeable of area attractions. Great mountain views. Very clean. Allowed pets and had several grassy areas to walk them. Full hook-ups & wifi. Basketball, bocce ball & shuffle board areas. Each site has a concrete patio, picnic table and fire pit. Seriously the best shower I've ever had in a bath house-clean tiled walls & floor, big shower head, lots of pressure. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We arrived just a bit early and we're allowed to check in. Wonderful hosts who took us to our site, cleaned off the outdoor table for us. They were able to sell us tickets to the Royal Gorge train ride and to Royal Gorge itself. Great water pressure! I wished we were able to stay longer but were on a schedule! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!! Stayed here just a couple nights but overall impressed with park, no conditions. Extremely well maintained sites and common areas. I didn't utilize the showers but you can tell they were recently renovated and are very nice if needed. I stayed in one of the premium sites(#8) and had a nice view out of our back window of the mountains. The sites all include a concrete pad , picnic table and fire ring. I see some reviews say the park may be a bit pricey but I would say it is completely worth a few extra dollars. To compare we drove through another local park and well...there is no comparison. This park has spacious sites and my space was perfectly level. Sites had a parking spot or plenty of parking area for your vehicle if you choose to disconnect. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park ideally located to Canon City and the Royal Gorge. Sites have concrete pads w/picnic tables. Park is immaculate and shows much pride of ownership - the owner has spent money to make the park very desirable. Highly recommend this park if you are in the area. Very nice park and employees go above and beyond to help. I actually saw one of them unhooking a car and helping a couple hook up. Very clean and great views. We did the Rocky Mountain wolf rescue. It was amazing. We also did the train through the gorge. Both were fantastic. We will be back. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.
