This is probably the cleanest park we've ever visited in our 8 years of RVing. This was our 2nd visit here in the past 2 years. The owner cleans every site after it is vacated and levels the gravel. The concrete pads are white as they were 2 years ago and tables are spotless. Views of the mountains are beautiful. Everyone in the office was polite and courteous. We will definitely stay here again. The only concern I would address is the "NO REFUND" policy. Full payment is expected when reservations are made and there are no refunds for any matter. This caused us to make a shorter reservation than we would have liked but when you are making reservations a month or so in advance few of us change our plans unless necessary. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it. Place and service was outstanding. Plenty of room to pull in my rig and park the truck. Quite at night. Older crowd here but very sociable. Easy to get to all the events and Canyon City. Will come back again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The park itself had very nice clean sites and was reasonable value . What we did not like was that we felt they nickle n dimed guests a bit .. example : we opened the lid of a provided communal Barbeque to find a note " see the office ,$5.00 charge to use ", also they charge so much for late checkout I think $10.00 but if really late $20.00. Also they charge more for early check in !Finally the lady who booked us on the Royal Gorge train disputed with me when I questioned her as to whether or not we were getting a stated 5% discount booking with her . We got to the train to find we paid her $6.00 more than the ticket booth price .. this was sorted out back at the park by another lady to our satisfaction but it wasted an hour of everyone's time . We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful campground right off the highway (however, not busy enough to cause a noise problem). Park is very well maintained, gravel interior, friendly staff and spacious sites. The area around the park is beautiful as well, surrounded by mountains and rolling hills. Quick 20-25 minute drive to the Royal Gorge. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Close to the Royal Gorge and Cañon City (whose historic district was a pleasant surprise - very clean/well maintained historic buildings; territorial prison & women's prison museum). Fun stop!

OK, first give the owner a break. The real nice building with the real nice patio in the middle of the park is NOT the office, but rather the park owners residence. After I apologized profusely and complimenting them on their park, I finally got to the front office where the lady there was very nice. We were led to our site which was a beautiful spot with mountain views as a previous reviewer stated to die for. Don't look at the Google Map images for this park. Everything has been remodeled in this park and where we'll find a way to get back to. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Million dollar views! Well engineered park so each site can take advantage of those views. Strong wifi, strong cell service area if you'd rather use your hotspot. 50/30 amp service, full hookups, gravel roads in good condition, level sites, concrete patios with brand new picnic tables, WIDE sites for any number of slide-outs your rig might have. Easy in-out off US 50. 5 miles to everything that is Royal Gorge and less than 7 miles to the "civilization" of Canon City (several groceries, Walmart Supercenter, etc). No pool but multiple "play" areas for both adults and kids (bocce ball, basketball, playground). Dog walk not fenced in but very large. Owners/staff friendly and go above and beyond in every way to be helpful. I definitely recommend this RV Park. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park, not very big which is fine. Some of the sites are for sale for clients who want to build out and stay a while all good. Slow Wifi frustrating as the office said it should work well. We call ahead and asked for 3 nights which was good, when we checked in we asked if our site was available for two extra nights and they said yes. We made reservation for the Train ride and when back the next day to extent our stay they had rented our site. We could move sites for an upgrade fee, but we would miss our train ride. We payed the upgrade, but will not return. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The staff are very friendly and keep the park very tidy. There is one bath house for the park with two toilets and two showers for men, identical for women. Showers and bath room are clean. Easy drive to Canon City, close to skyline drive. When making a reservation, inquire if your site connections are on the left side. Some of the sites share a water faucet, and the power may be on the incorrect side. They work fine just make sure you have enough hose etc. to make the connection. There are some sites with afternoon shade, most of the premium sites have no shade. I'm not real sure on the 9 rating on this park. It's nice and clean but basically provides a place to stay. There is not much else provided here. Wifi works well. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The park is delightful. The owners/operators were very helpful with our reservation and greeted us in the drive when we arrived. We extended our stay with no problem. The showers are the best! Our site was a pull in site facing an open pasture allowing us to leave the front curtains open to enjoy the morning sunrise. Tow vehicle parking is separate and right next to the RV. The owners live at the campground and the campground hosts are friendly. Lovely, large patios and excellent gravel that does not create dust. Views of the mountains. The only complaint is that their cancellation policy is a bit draconian. If you don't cancel two weeks ahead of time, you lose your fee for the entire stay, even if you only booked for a few nights. Tips for other Campers:

Canon city is a good location, although hot in the summer. September is great. There are back roads to Cripple Creek and to Victor, hiking trails, a nice riverwalk trail for walking or riding bicycle, a Farmer's market every Tuesday and a concert in the park weekly. Nice drives available up to Westcliffe or west to Salida and north to Buena vista. The campground is about eight miles west of Canon City and is cooler than in town.

Overall Rating:

PROS: The campground was very clean and well kept including all restrooms, showers, RV pads, parking spots, and even our fire pit that didn't have a single ash when when we got there. The entire staff was very polite and easy to deal with. We stayed on the western border of the campground and the sunsets were truly spectacular. It is very close to the Royal Gorge and Skyline Drive, and is not far from town. Full hookups at the sites that were fully functional and easy to use. Separate parking for tow vehicle next to RV site. Discount tickets to the Royal Gorge Bridge park also a plus. CONS: Campground is on the HWY so there is road noise and there was a loud band playing nearby one night though we were told that was not normal. The water that they truck in has a very strong chlorine taste and not great for cooking or coffee. All in all a great experience and I would suggest staying there if you are passing through or visiting the Gorge. Not a wilderness experience but they don't pretend to be.
