The best thing about Pleasant Valley is the location. Each site backs up to the Little Cimarron River, which is just a few feet away, with a grassy area including picnic table and a grill between your rig and the water. The sites themselves are mostly shaded also.

Unfortunately, the park is relatively old, and the owners don't have much of a customer service orientation. Although we had full hookups, the electrical service was only 30 amps, not 50, and this was not mentioned anywhere on their website or during the phone reservation process. In addition, our coach's electrical management system showed we were getting only 102-104 volts at the pedestal, so it kept shutting off our power due to low voltage. When we asked one of the owners about this, she said, "well, I'm not the electric company, so there's nothing I can do about it." True, but not very nice. Although we had paid for a week, we left after one night (and the owner willingly refunded our money for the unused nights) and went to a different park.

Also note that there is NO COVERAGE from either AT&T or Verizon (voice or data) available in the campsite. The store does have free wifi for customers, but it's usable only inside and in the immediate area outside the store. I was able to get AT&T coverage by driving east about 1/2 mile on US 50. For Verizon, I had to drive several miles west to Cerro Summit. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The only reason I gave this place a 5 is that it's small, they have about 6 sites of full hook up and each one is back in to a beautiful river, that makes the stay a little more valuable.

We planned at the beginning to stay for about a week or so but when we arrived we were a bit shocked and decided to start with only 2 nights. It's near a main Hwy, a huge minus for us since you can hear it and it is quit busy, the sound of the river makes it less tolerable, it has tall trees all around and in the late afternoon you can see few sheep, goats and a Llama walking on the other side of the river. WiFi pretty bad and no cell reception (Verizon), it looks very very outdated. More like state parks that you got your basics and that's it. It is family operated and there's fresh baked pie every day, but it's Overpriced. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It is about 25min from Montrose which you can have cell reception and shopping: organic grocery store (natural groceries), supermarkets, JCP, Home Depot, Starbucks and few more).

Nice little campground and cabins. It's an older place, but it is very well maintained. The staff was very friendly and informative. There are just ten RV sites. There were only eight working sites, all back-in, but they said there were in the process of converting the first two to pull-through with 50 amp service. The Cimmeron River is right behind the campsite. Nice to hear the rushing water but it would have been better if we could have faced the river. There's a nice pond and picnic area across the river via a bridge. We were here in May, so maybe the "heavy traffic" of US50 was exceptionally light, but thought it was very quite - just the sound of the rushing water. The restaurant has a limited menu, but the homemade pies are great. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed at this RV Park year after year since 2009 and have always loved it, but in 2014 they became under revised management and by that I mean they got rid of a part owner that seemed to drag the park down on a few things and wasn't very good with friendly service. Instead there has been a new face; I don't remember his name, but he is younger and nice to talk to and just has a very home grown type of politeness about him. He also seems very handy with repairs around the park, but as always you can still find the friendly face of the owner. Although she is always working hard she finds the time to stop and say hello. Well now that the part owner is gone things seemed to have really improved around the park. Service is top notch, food is excellent; most things that needed to be fixed or addressed are being fixed. It shows the overall condition of the park is much cleaner, groomed and things like low water pressure were address during the spring of 2014 with the new help putting in new water lines and valves. They also have nice little pond where kids can fish. The park is Pet friendly, standard rules apply and they even have a place for your Horse if thats what you desire. Road noise is to expected during the day but quiets down at night and is nice and relaxing to sit by a fire near the river. I'm sure I missed lots to comment about, but if your wondering where to stay near Black canyon, Blue mesa or Silver jack this place has it all. They Even have fresh baked Pie,cant't wait to return this year 2015. We are staying a month this time so join us at our fire. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

When we first arrived at the park there were only 3 sites taken. The voltage was low so we hooked up our power booster and that seemed to help. By the time Friday rolled around all the sites were full and after everyone started hooking up to the power our power protector kept going on and off. The voltage was below 102 volts too many times to count. Low power is a good way to kill your AC and refrigerator. We kept our refrigerator and water heater on propane the whole time we were there. We unplugged the power and didn’t turn it back on until later on in the evenings. The same thing happened again on Saturday and Sunday. The owner was aware of the problem. The water pressure was at 55 psi and we didn’t have any problems with the sewer. The site was almost level so there were no problems leveling her out. No Verizon cell or internet service. There is Wi-Fi in the store/cafe but it was slow. We were able to get our dome satellite in which was nice so we didn’t have to set up the portable dish. This is a very rustic campground with the Little Cimmaron River right behind the back in site. It’s a pretty park, with gravel sites among large cottonwood trees. The park is close to a VERY busy highway 50 so the only way you can get away from some of the noise is to sit right next to the river. As a day trip we drove up to Silver Jack Reservoir on a good, paved, (21 miles) hard packed dirt road. Wildflowers were beautiful along the road beyond the entrance to Silver Jack Campground (forest service). Just past the campground back on the main road is the Silver Jack Overlook. Picture postcard views of the reservoir along with the majestic mountains, well worth the drive and it was a nice place for a picnic while you’re there. Due to the power problems and road noise we wouldn’t stay here again. In fact we couldn’t wait to get out of there. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Motorhome.

We loved this campground! Beautiful setting with tall shade trees and campsites along the river. Some of my family has been camping here for years, and now I see why. The sites are gravel and pretty level, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The store has basic groceries and gas, along with some cook to order food and fresh pies, and the owners are great. It's a short walk to their pond with paddle boats. There is only one shower, but it was available the times I went to use it. Some of our group stayed in two of the cabins - clean and comfortable. It was a nice option for those without an RV. We had 5 campsites and 2 cabins to accommodate our group (18 in all), and we all would stay here again. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very quiet, relaxed, small RV park/campground. There are few amenities, but it was a great place to just hang out and relax. Lots of trees, but you could put up a satellite. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Small store with gas and propane available. We will certainly return here. We camped at Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
