In addition to the nightly camping fee, plan to pay $7 / day state park access fee unless you have an annual Colorado State Park pass. Plenty of space between campsites, water pressure on the low end, but worked adequately. It's great to look up at night and see the lights to the entrance of NORAD. Great views of Colorado Springs as well. Several well-maintained trails that you can take your dogs on, and several that are dog-free. Even on the dog trails, we saw a minimum of "droppings" left behind by dog owners. The park staff and camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Laundry was clean and worked well at $1.50 a load for washer or dryer. Pay showers appeared clean although we didn't use them. You will hear the various military facilities play reveille and taps, which was neat for us as veterans. You may see muley deer, bears, or a mountain lion - take appropriate measures with food. We saw deer, and heard of a mountain lion sighting, but the bears hadn't been seen in a couple weeks when we were there. We will definitely return to this campground! We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

The price doesn't include a 7.00 daily park entrance fee unless you have an annual park pass which is 70.00. This is possibly the best state park I have ever visited. All roads and campsites are paved and all campsites have full hookups with 50 amp service. Restrooms, showers, laundry room and visitor center are immaculate. The showers are 1.00 for four minutes which is one drawback if you need to use them. Laundry fees are about standard. 1.25 to 1.75 depending on which machine you use. There are plenty of real nice hiking trails throughout the park. We stayed in site 49 which was a pull through with plenty of room for our 41 foot 5th wheel and truck. It also had a large patio with table and a large campfire ring. It also had an area for a tent if one is needed. Very nice views of the surrounding area and mountains from anywhere in the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not much to add that others have not stated. Level concrete parking pads, all utilities work well. Good spacing. The section we were in had shrubbery between sites and thus provided great privacy. All sites are full sun so it can get hot. Great visitor center at entrance to park. Biggest peeve is the extra fees -mainly a $7 daily state park fee. I've already payed $30/day to stay in the campground (and paid a reservation fee). We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is in a wonderful location partway up Cheyenne Mountain. The sites are well spaced but most have little privacy. Our site #27 had nice border shrubbery and was one of the nicer sites in the park. We bought a annual vehicle pass for our truck for $70. The motorcycles in the back of our toy hauler got free "towed vehicle" passes for our stay. I do think that after you pay $30 for a site and $7 a day for a vehicle pass it is tacky to then charge for showers ($1 per 4 minutes). The park is very well kept with clean restrooms and each site is cleaned after use. There are many hiking trails nearby and many sites to see. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We really enjoyed our time at this park. We had great views from out site and it is very private. Lots of walking trails and close to stores and other attractions. The site we had was very large but FYI, the angle of the driveway into the site made it impossible for me to release my sway bars. I had to pull my trailer back out of the site to where it was level to remove the sway bars and then back into the site again to finish disconnecting. The site itself was very level. I would request this site again. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very pretty State Park. Area is dry, so landscaping reflects that. Nice space between sites. Full hook-ups, except no cable. Sure was level. Roads are easy to navigate in our 40' rig. Laundry is $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. I would have given this Park a 10, but I don't like little fees being added here and there. We had to pay $10 for our two nights, when reserving online. Then we arrived and had to pay $7/day ($14 total) for a "park pass." These two fees made the $30 nightly rate, $42 per night.

If they had had a pool, a larger playground, cable and did not charge for showers in the one bathhouse (that was large and clean), this property would be a 10 for us. Only rated it lower for the added fees. But if you're okay with those, you'll be happy here as it is a nice State Park. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of our favorite parks to stay at! Great place to stay as a base of operations for seeing the sights such as the zoo or 7 Falls. Hookups worked well except for lower than normal water pressure. It was something the entire park was experiencing, not just our site. Usually have good water. Our site #044 was one of the few pull-throughs in the campground. There is a grade at the end of the site that made hooking up the trailer sway bars more difficult, but manageable. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had site #10 which is a very nice pull through on a high hill with views of the entire city below and for miles. Very nice spot one of the best in the park. All hook-ups worked well and were nice and neat. Great trails to walk too. This is a great State Park that is close to the city with easy access to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods etc. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

The $37 price includes camping pride and state park daily fee. We LOVED this campground. We had a beautiful view of the valley. Quite spacious and comfortable. We had a step down patio and picnic table and fire ring. It was quiet and peaceful and just what we wanted! Side note, the base at the bottom of the hill plays revely at 6am everyday! One of the nicest RV parks we have ever visited. Very level concrete sites, fire rings on each site along with rubber coated steel picnic tables, full hook ups, tenting area on each site with built in anchor tie downs and extra water outlet to get water outside. Restrooms and showers are fantastic. Trial period for walking trails for dogs in existence. Great views....day time and night of the Colorado Springs area. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Other than hiking, bicycling, etc there isn't a lot to do. No shopping within walking distance....no tourist attractions within walking distance. An abundance of wildlife in the park. Have seen deer, elk, turkey, fox and bear. A fantastic park for those campers who love the outdoors.

Loved this park! Very convenient to so many local attractions, shopping, restaurants etc. The park is very clean, lots of great hiking trails, wildlife, beautiful flowers. Full hookups are a plus! The laundry room is so clean & reasonable, a play ground for the kids & an activity room. Would definitely return to this park. Oh & let's not forget the bugles @ 6:30 am from Ft Carson! Very nice park with great amenities. Only reason we gave it an 8 vs 10 is because there is NO SHADE. Being on an exposed plateau in CO means wind - lots and lots of wind, so take that into consideration during summer with no shade trees. Awnings don't stand a chance. The sites are level but with no trees/minimal trees it is very bare and not private. That said - the view east of the plains is fascinating, especially at night with the city lights. Being fairly close to the Springs allowed us to do a lot of day trips -Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, etc. Lastly, be prepared - you are directly by Fort Carson, prepare to wake up to Reveille at 0630 every morning! We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This state camp site sits on the Eastern shoulder of Cheyenne Mountain and has beautiful views over Colorado Springs and east to the plains. There are numerous hiking/biking trails here which is the main activity. The campground is very close to Colorado Springs and Fountain (and their amenities). Our site was full service and had a level concrete pad for parking the trailer. The campground is very well maintained. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

PROS: Clean, hard surface site with good view. CONS: Unreasonable rules: 1. Extra day use fee should be included with camping cost, not an unreasonable extra fee. 2.Would not reserve a site for us for two nights, even though a site was open. We were allowed to stay there only one night. There is a rule that two sites are not reservable, so we checked out and left the area because they couldn't assure us of a site. There were two sites available, but they would not let US reserve one until 2PM. If someone called on the phone one minute prior to our reservation, we could loose our site. The bureaucracy runneth over. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.
