Overall Rating:

This was our 4th stay at the park and it has changed considerably over the years. The park is now dominated by full time residents which have taken every space away from the road up the hill behind the office. Travelers are in the lower part of the park close to the road. At 6am every week day the gravel trucks start to run until 3pm. There is at least one truck, on average, every minute and many times 3 or 4 trucks pass in a group. I realize the park can't control the trucks, but future campers should be aware. The sites are nicely graveled, but the roads are down to the dirt so there is a considerable amount of dust. The park wells are dry so water is trucked in during the day. In the morning the water pressure is very low. I measured it at 15 psi. Once the tanks are full the water pressure go up to 45 psi. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 8 nights in late June. The 8th night was free. We really like this park. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Sites were large and well maintained. Lots of shade, but we were still able to use our satellite. Very, very quiet at night. No cell service on ATT or Verizon. The WiFi was basically unusable - especially in the evening when all of the data hogs started streaming. There is truck traffic on the road Monday thru Thursday. They go slow and we didn't hear them. Good place to relax. Not a good place if you need cell or reliable WiFi. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nicely landscaped park with gravel roads and sites and lots of trees. No ATT signal or OTA TV. There is cable in the front part of the park, though those sites are closer to the road and the traffic noise from the gravel trucks that is mentioned in other reviews. WiFi was decent at times and unusable at other times, probably when traffic was high. The park is a little pricey for the amenities but we would stay here again. Friendly staff at the campground. Most sites are somewhat shaded and have decent space plus table and fire ring. Full hookups at all. Unfortunately we had to move 5 times over 3 weeks. There is negligible cell service at the campground. Wifi is hit or miss. During the week there is tractor trailer traffic to and from the quarry 6am to 5pm. Heard/felt artillery or tank rounds from Ft Carson during some nights. My main beef is the price is comparable to a KOA, but there is no pool, jumping pillow etc. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed four nights. Campground was full; there seems to be many regular's that have there RV there full time. Campground is nice. It's a bit dusty, mostly due to the drought going on. All gravel roads. There is no reception for my phone or TV (none) ;got this complaint from my fellow campers as well. There is cable but beware its not at all the sites I found out after I settled in. There is wildlife in the park deer seems to hang around there most of the day which is nice, also was a bear in the park not so nice but rangers where present to handle the bear. Its not a bad park its not a park for us no TV is a bummer for us and no phone you can use the office phone if needed. WiFi was pretty good. Will not go back to this park. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

You are out in the middle of nowhere; 12 miles either way for gas, farther for city enjoyment. There are several things you must do: Pikes Peak is a must if your on a motorcycle; we were. Cliff Dwelling and the cave of the winds where fun old town was nice great pizza place, all pretty easy to get to

Very nice park in the foothills of Colorado Springs. It has a rustic feel with frequent sightings of deer in the park. The sites were spacious with enough room for our 40' motorhome and toad and plenty of room left over to use the picnic table and fire ring. Wifi worked. 50 amp power and sewer worked well. The area is under drought restrictions and they are hauling water in for the campers and they ask to please limit your water use. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is approximately 30 minutes from the main areas of Colorado Springs in a rural area off of Highway 1 1 5. Exceptionally large well landscaped sites with a large rock base are available. Our site was 40 by 70 and contained a large number of trees and shrubs which gave it a private feeling. Many of the sites are terraced which gives you privacy for your well placed utility hook up from the neighbors. There is a nice fenced dirt dog yard as well as a partial perimeter path along the park to walk dogs. While we did not participate they have ice cream socials and other events on a frequent basis. The major downside to the park, and the only reason we did not give it a 10, is that it sits on a road which has a quarry at the end. During the week large semis moved constantly up and down the road from 06 30 until about 5 p.m. Sites further back in the park might not have had quite the noise that was created by heavy traffic. Cable television was adequate though some of the channels were fuzzy. The provided free internet worked well. Both Verizon and AT&T had limited service until closer to Colorado Springs.. Mlm. Tips for other Campers:

There are no grocery stores, services or fuel stations near the park so it is advisable to take care of that prior to arriving . All of the above are available about 15 minutes north of the park. The drive to Pike's Peak was exceptionally fun. Costco, big box stores and the Air Force Academy are about 40 minutes away.

Large, level sites with lots of trees gave you the feeling you were camping in a state campground. We arrived after the office closed but were met at the entrance and guided to our site. The staff was great and helped us get backed in and set up quickly. 50 amp power was stable and good, water pressure was 55 psi, dump port convenient. OTA TV is non-existent. Cellular and hotspot signals are non-existent. The park WiFi was decent. Their cable TV however was pretty awful. The picture on most channels (lower ones especially) was very grainy and fluctuated from bad to worse. All things considered, it was a minor inconvenience and forced us to enjoy the beauty of the area instead. Deer wandered thru regularly and a turkey called out to us one morning. The campground was very clean and well organized. With trails available, hot-tub, playground and a small game room there's something for everyone. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back again. This park is AMAZING! We stayed here for a short weekend getaway. When we arrived we were met and guided to our space. We didn't bring a tow vehicle, and forgot a few items, which we were thrilled to find they had in the well stocked camp store. They offer movie night and waffle breakfast. This is a family park and you can tell. The best part for us was the wildlife. We were greeted by a heard of deer. We loved our stay and will for sure be back!! Really nice RV park. As others have said the sites in this park except sites 1-10 are the largest sites we have encountered. The park is mainly full-timers, but in this case it is an asset. All of the people are super friendly and have organized activities during the week (bingo, taco Tuesdays, breakfast waffles, Halloween party... ). Very strict on the rules but that is what keeps the park looking so nice. Cell coverage was marginal with Verizon. The only real ding is the price. The water pressure would fluctuate a lot, between 20 an 65 psi. We will definitely be back. We camped there in a MH. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The best RV Campground in Colorado Springs that we have stayed in! A very helpful, friendly owner and staff that will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant experience. A family atmosphere that's quiet and well designed for privacy with gorgeous, spacious and level sites, great WiFi, abundant wildlife and beautiful landscapes. They have clean restrooms, laundry facility, a great lounge and pavilions for family and group use. Pet friendly, rules are well observed! Great walking paths and short hiking trails with some biking possible! You won't be disappointed when staying at this wonderful campground! This is one of those parks that is worth the price. Our pad was a little too short to leave the TV hooked up but was as wide as 2 "Normal" CG pad sites, parking was ample. The gravel pad needed about an inch of leveling. Although the surface was gravel there was no dust or dirt to track in the 5th. We were escorted to our site and assisted in backing in. Very quiet at night. Mornings and evenings the wildlife was out. Turkey being the most common that I witnessed although the morn we left I counted 9 mule-ear doe and as many turkey. It is a bit out of town, about half way between Colo Springs and Canyon (Canon) City but the quiet was very nice. The Bride rates this CG and Lazy Days in Tucson as her favorites. This is a PA park but there are many exclusions and our stay didn't qualify. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Royal Gorge train is nice but doesn't match the Durango-Silverton ride but is nice. We thought El Caporal in Canyon (Canon) City an excellent restaurant tho the margaritas were not quite to our taste.

Beautiful park. Very well maintained. Abundant wildlife. Very friendly and helpful staff. The downside was the wifi. It was hard to maintain connectivity from not only my coach (parked very near office) but from in the lounge area. I would hope that ownership can upgrade the wifi so that it is at least consistent in the lounge area and hopefully the entire resort. A plus that I appreciated is that although this is a high end resort, they don't have the 10 year rule and welcomed my 18 year old class a as they did the new KingAire parked across the road. Staff were friendly and helpful but, we had made reservations about 2 weeks earlier and when we checked in I was told a staff member would lead me in. He followed me back to my truck and told me to wait while he checked something in the office. About 10 to 15 minutes later he told me that my site was unavailable because an RV was still there and that the owner wasn't there because he had trailer hitch issues and that we would have to stay at another site, then move the next day to my site after the trailer occupying my site was available. I didn't understand why I would have to move but agreed. Next, my Wi-Fi didn't work. My cell phone wouldn't work. Water pressure was very weak. In fact, once it went completely off. I turned the water off, then on again and I had very weak pressure. I went to the office, told the lady that I would stay the night because it was late but I wanted a refund for the next three days that I had reserved. She told me she understood but she didn't know how to do that and to return in the morning. Meanwhile, a staff member came to our site and, somehow got the Wi-Fi and my cell phone working. The Wi-Fi was weak and phone service was spotty. I would have to step outside for fair reception. Next morning another lady gave me a refund for the next three nights and told me she was sorry it happened. A staff member led me out and I'm glad he did because the streets were narrow and winding. I will never camp there again. But, if you go, make sure you have a lot of supplies if you plan on staying more than one night. The park is about 14 miles from stores, ATM's, etc. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
