Excellent "campground" stay with pine trees, wildlife wandering through the park, fire pits at every site and rock retaining walls separating sites. Excellent general store and camper lounge hosting ice cream socials on Saturday nights and waffle breakfasts on Sunday morning. Park is a long way from central Colorado Springs - actually closer to Canon City so not an ideal spot as a base camp if your focus is sightseeing the Colorado Springs activities. But a perfect place to just hang out and enjoy the great outdoors. Dog park was all dirt but the playground was nice. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Seems like a nice park overall. Friendly staff when we arrived. Some sites have views some don't. Some sites are satellite friendly, some are not. Some sites have basic cable, but it's really a basic DirecTV package. Lot's of trees and deer in the park. About a 15-20 minutes drive to Colorado Springs. Passport America members beware... They have a policy that they can and will move you to a different site if someone comes along, paying full price, and wants your reserved site. They did not tell us this when I made my reservation 6 months out. Thus our rating of "Bad" for service. Now, they did call us a week before we arrived informing us it was a possibility but when I asked why she was very evasive and ultimately told me a lie that they were doing some maintenance work. When we did arrived (and expressed our displeasure) the gentleman checking us in did extend the PPA discount to the full 5 days we were booked. Instead of satellite and view friendly site 84, they put us in site 9 which is large, level, shaded and has the basic cable. Too many trees for my satellite. The negatives though outweigh the positives in my opinion. 9 is right at the entrance so you get to hear all the traffic coming and going all night long. You have a great view of the trash dumpsters and get to wake up to the sound of campers throwing their trash in them a 5:30 AM. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground is a gem, tucked away in the mountains south of Colorado Springs a short distance. The sites are arranged in such a way that you feel like your truly away in the mountains. We had a pull thrunsite which was huge and accommodated our trailer and Truck hooked up. Beside us was a Class A motorhome which had plenty of room also. Beside where we put the trailer was a large area with a picnic table and fire ring. All the staff/owners were so very welcoming and nice and we were made to feel relaxed, at ease and that nothing was too much trouble. We stayed here for 3 nights and were sorry to leave. On Saturday night there was an Ice Cream Social in the lounge area beside the office and on Sunday morning a Waffle Bar. $1 per person for each and both were super and it was fun to meet fellow campers. From here we visited the Air Force Academy and The Garden of the Gods. We also drove to Canon (a short drive away) and took the train ride through the Royal Gorge. We recommend all these side Trips! We rated this park 20 out of 10!!! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

I would like to thank the owner for assisting with getting a friends 5th wheel out of a ditch and leaning up against a tree. The way he and his crew worked together with their knowledge of raising and moving the 5th wheel so not to cause more damage was a miracle in its self. He had the know how to lift the rig and how to block the rig so that it would not cause more damage. Thank You, we will be back very soon. This is one of our most favorite campgrounds to attend. If your idea of camping in Colorado is a wooded mountain setting - then this is the place for you. It is located about 30 minutes South of Colorado Springs on Hwy 115. It is easy access to all of the attractions in the Colorado Springs area. It is also about 30 minutes to the Royal Gorge Tourist train. Most of the sites are terraced and level to accommodate the various elevation changes in the park. Generally all the sites are large and well spaced with some shade at most. The Wi-Fi is great. The water is good and the cable TV has over 20 channels. Some are very clear while others - not so much. Cell phone service is very "iffy" at the park, but fine once you get out to the highway. They can easily accommodate big rigs. We would stay here again. The only downside is they are a little pricey at $49 per night. Passport America is the only discount they offer - for a maximum 3 nights.
As a side note - you can expect to see deer and wild turkeys roaming free thru out the park. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights and it is a lovely campground. A bit in the middle of no where; 20 minutes from anything other than one restaurant. The site was level and very spacious. We would return if we had a Verizon signal there. We work from our coach, and our personal hotspot was slower than tar. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great park, level sites, plenty of trees, deer wandering the property morning and evening. Wifi weak for the most part and we had no cell service in the park, which kept me from giving a 10. Campground sign coming from south can hardly be seen until right on it. I missed it and had to do a turnaround a couple miles down the road. This is a nice campground. I liked the red gravel on the roads and sites-no dust and mud. Not much grass for dogs though. Dog park is basically dirt but at least they have one. This park is located halfway between Colorado Springs and Canon City on route 115. It is about 30 min. each way to the attractions in both areas- Royal Gorge and Pikes Peak. Beautiful area. My only complaint with this cg is that I booked way in advance and we stayed a week. I was hoping for one of their nice big sites shown on their website but instead we were put in a small site right next to the road and office with a view of some perm. trailers and a shed. Not exactly what I expected for $300. Many permanents friendly people with propane tanks around ( not shown in video). Meanwhile many of the nice big sites were empty or had small travel trailers in them. We had a 34 ft coach and tow. People were friendly, nice laundry. Enjoyed the deer walking thru the campsite. Basically a quiet pretty spot! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Absolutly fabulous! Located on the side of a mountain about 15 miles south of the city it is a very quick and easy trek into town. The wonderful thing is the seclusion. There is no pavement but well manicured sites and roads with the "Red Rocks" of the area.
The staff is friendly and always attenitive to your needs. The sights are roomy but do have trees to be careful of and there again the staff assists in parking and exiting.
One thing unique the campground caters to their regulars and will hold and confirm certain sites. We had to move after the first day but, then had the same spot for the next 7. We talked to campers that had been coming through for years. There are very few full timers and there sites are well kept.
Several times wild deer will just walk through the campground which is really cool.
The only negative, which is no fault of the campground, is Verizon service almost does not work. The WiFi was good - they have repeaters all over the park.
On a note during our visit we saw several other campgrounds in Colorado Springs and most looked liked Drive In theaters - close and junky. Thanks to RV Reviews we landed a good stay! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I would go back to this campground every year if I could! The sites are spacious but tricky to park: the campground crew was incredibly helpful. There is not a lot of activities for kids, but we spent a lot of time doing local activities. The grounds are all rock, which isn't the greatest for bike riding. This is a great place for a quiet getaway and relaxing. We saw lots of hummingbirds and the setting is beautiful. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great location for activities in both Colorado Springs and Pueblo. If you have pets, consider bringing a sizable rug as the rock is hard on them for a long period of time.

From the time we arrived everyone we came in contact with was first class. This is a wonderfully run campground. We were able to get only 5 days but after visiting Yellowstone we will be coming back for 2 weeks and can't wait to relax and enjoy this beautiful campground. We saw deer, wild turkey and so enjoyed the hummingbirds visiting our feeder. Laundry was new and immaculate. Staff was a pleasure to work with in helping us find a site so we could come back. This is a great campground. We got the only site available, and it turned out to be a gem. Back-in, shaded, level, with great wi fi and cable reception, but I understand that your reception on both these depends on where you are located. Staff expertly backed us in. Everything was all gravel. Small workout room with 2 ellipticals and 1 treadmill, but a new, larger facility will be open next year. Many people live here full time or most of the summer, so overnight spaces are harder to get. Ice cream social on Saturday night and breakfast waffle bar with all the trimmings on Sunday morning. Park is out in the country, and there are gravel trucks going back and forth on the road to a nearby quarry, which does stir up some dust, but the trucks do stop at night. Park is about equal distance between Colorado Springs and Canon City--some 20 miles to both. Looks like they are building a new bathhouse. Laundry spacious and nice. No pool but the map showed a hot tub, which we did not see. Utilities all good. This is a great place to kick back and relax. We would love to come back. This is the best RV Park in Colorado Springs. But that is because the other parks are more or less trailer parks for full time residents with travel trailers or fifth wheels. This in large part due the extensive military presence in Colorado Springs.

The staff is very helpful and friendly but do not enforce the 5 mph speed limit so if you are in the font row of the main driveway (sites 1-8 or 9-16) every time a registering camper coming in or sewer truck, FedEx, UPS, or other delivery truck goes by a dust cloud from the red gravel covers your car and RV. The worst violators are the campground employees who go up and down the main driveway 20 mph in Golf carts, skidsteers, and utility vehicles all day. The park has their water delivered so you cannot wash your rig unless you use their mobile wash guy who has a contract with the park.

The park wireless depending on where you are is very good. They have a signal extender for cell phones so if you want to make a Verizon call you can if you are near the office where the tower is.

Cable TV was adequate, depending on which site you are on. I moved once and had a good signal on one site and grainy on another.

Sites 1-7 are so narrow if you have slides on both sides you could be overhanging the site next to you and the sewer connections are in the next site in the front so your neighbors sewer connection is 3 feet from your front door on your site.

Other sites are very wide and spacious. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

These people know how to do a first class CG! Pea gravel roads and sites. On site office/store is well stocked with munchies and dry goods that you might have run out of. Nice laundry, playground, and immaculacy landscaped high dessert style. No problems with power or water. I was going to take some pictures to post here, but the pictures and video on their website would do a better job of showing the amenities and facilities. I opted for a crescent shaped pull thru that had sufficient trees to provide afternoon shade, but I did have to put out my external sat antenna a few feet from the rig. But there are lots more nice sites to choose from where satellite signals aren't blocked. Their website page will allow you to click on a site and see photos of it which takes the guessing out of the selection process. Again, that's first class. Nice rec/computer/game room. Nightly rate may be a bit high for some, but you get what you pay for. I usually stay at another nice CG in the Colorado Springs area, but this one will be the replacement from now on. My only negative, which is not in the control of the CG, is that Verizon cell signal was almost non existent. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I think the owners out a lot of work into this park and it shows. Best wireless we have seen, but make sure to ask which wireless your spot should use.

We had to switch sites because while our site was advertised as good satellite, it's only good if your dish is located on the front. That said, the owner was so accommodating! The site we stayed at was double (almost triple) of other sites and this is one site that truly is big rig friendly.

My recommendation would be that when you book your site, be specific about your needs and they will do their best to assign the right spot for you.

There are a few items that impacted the "9" rating instead of a 10: it is extremely far from Colorado Springs proper, no grass whatsoever (tough for dogs, even with a dog run which is dirt), the water pressure was very low, and the lack of cell service. The owners couldn't help the first and last issues but with the latter, it is a known issue and would've helped knowing about it when we booked. There were workarounds with the latter but we spent a couple of hours getting Skype working (wish we actually read these reviews first and we could have set up at our leisure rather than spending it right after driving and setting up). Others in the campground were actually complaining about AT&T when I went in to ask about the same.

Again, it taught us to be very specific about our needs before arriving rather than assuming based on reviews. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stock up on groceries before arriving. Ask for not only the wireless password but the connection name that is best suited for your site (there are several). If you have AT&T, set up Skype before arriving. If you want satellite service, be specific about the location so they can assign the right spot. Check-in is straight ahead at the office when you pull in.
