This has to be one of the nicest parks we have been to, beautiful landscape sites, long and wide so not to feel like you on top of your neighbor. A bit of a ride to Colorado Springs and attractions but for us it was worth it, especially after seeing some of the rv parks in the town area. Overall Rating:

A beautiful campground off the highway a bit, nestled into the mountainside. We were greeted by a family of deer and a great staff who helped guide us / park us in our site.

Shower houses were clean with good temperature and water pressure. Weekend activities (ice cream social, breakfast) were great to meet the neighbors.

Only thing keeping this from a 10 was our proximity to the road and the quarry trucks that came by first thing in the morning. Was a surprise, but by the 3rd day, was not an inconvenience at all.

Trails / amenities at the campground were great and the proximity to Colorado Springs & Canon city were perfect for our itinerary. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We had a family of 4 (including a 6 & 9 year old). Local activities:

* Canon city (Colorado Jeep Tour & Cowboy Chuckwagon - excellent!!!)

* Canon city (whitewater rafting with River Runners on Bighorn sheep canyon - excellent)

* Cripple Creek - Mollie Kathleen gold mine was good, the railroad is a complete rip off and for the drive it was so -so...not meant for kids

Stayed here June and July 2016. Rate reflects monthly rate. This is a very nice campground. Wildlife wanders through. Would have been an 10 but single laundry facility (4 washers+4 dryers) stayed crowded. Note that construction of a 2nd laundry facility has already begun. Would arrange my travels to stay here again if ever in this part of the country. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is our second stay at the park and it remains one of our favorite RV parks. The park is paved with reddish rock gravel, sites are spacious, large, level and terraced with rock walls. This is not your typical park in a row park. The staff are helpful and friendly. The park is about 15 miles from Colorado Springs, which may be a negative for some. At our site satellite service was very good, but ATT cell service was non-existant. Wifi was poor to very good, I suspect depending on the number of users. Cable was offered, but we didn't use it. The restroom/showers were unisex; clean and adequate. Laundry was excellent. The park is not especially kid friendly, but there is a playground. Given the amount of activities in the area, our kids were not disappointed. There are deer in the park. We would camp here again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay in this park! Can say enough good things! Park staff were very helpful and friendly, escorted us to our site. Even called us one day to alert us the park power had gone out for a short while and they were concerned about our pets in the RV! We have never had anyone do that! We so appreciated this effort on the part of office staff. We were entertained by nightly visits from deer, turkeys, and squirrels! The deer would eat right out of your hand! Our site was up on a tiered level.....and we think it was the best in the park! Lots of shade and so much room! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed a month, as we full time. $695+ power. True camping in the trees. Satellite iffy, cable iffy. Laundry spotless. Some spaces right on top of each other, others roomier. Nearly impossible cell service. Staff very nice. Plenty of social activities. Very popular in season. Probably won't stay again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful destination park. It's out in the country, at least 16 miles from anything. Not a place you'd want to stay if you're planning on doing a lot of running around. We stayed in site 36 and it was great. No one behind us & no one to our left. And the left side had 5 trees so there was good shade all day on that side. The park is very well maintained with nice landscaping and large boulders and pretty gravel. Our firepit was made of rocks-very nice! WiFi was hit or miss & Verizon signal was weak. Very nice front loading washers & dryers. I could stay here all summer! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay at this pleasant campground. Roads and sites are packed gravel. Fill was brought in to make sites level and rock-scaping was almost finished to cover the embankments. There are many pines that provide some filtered shade. The community room is very nice and was made available to our small group. There are a variety of activities available to all campers. These are posted at the office. There is a nice-sized dog park. The sites toward the back of the park seem to be for long-time residents. They are clean and well kept, and there are flower beds here and there throughout the park. This is not an overnight stop as it isn't convenient to the Interstate. There was no noise from highways, no trains, but there are large trucks that go by to the quarry nearby. Signage is good. It is easy to get in and out of the park. Our site was I. The interior of a loop. We had to exit through a vacated site to get to the exit road. Even so, we liked the site and its access to everything. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park located just south of Colorado Springs. The grounds are very nice, and they seem to always be improving. We were greeted and escorted to our site by a nice gentleman. The staff had a waffle bar for Memorial Day weekend and an ice cream social in the evening. There are many deer that frequent the park. The wifi was ok and the Verizon signal was little to none. There is a small playground but that's about it for the little ones. Everyone that we encountered could not have been any nicer, would recommend and would stay again. Beautiful rock lined sites. Easy to access laundry. Friendly people. Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surface is gravel featuring a fire ring, picnic table and patio. This is the best campground we've ever stayed at throughout the US and Canada.

Overall Rating:

We spent about two weeks at the park. It's beautifully laid out with huge gravel sites. We had trailers over 40' next to us and we still had tons of room. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The laundry room was excellent and the machines were so efficient that they were very reasonable. I dried all our clothes in about 24 minutes. There is a huge lovely lounge with a giant TV. You are out in the forest and deer and turkeys wander through the park. We were here in November so it was cold out and I have no comment on the hot tub. My only minor complaint is that the lounge and immaculate showers were kept a little cold, considering the outside temperature. We really like this place and would definitely return. Tips for other Campers:

This park is out in the country. My husband spent some time fishing. The Arkansas River is not too far away and there are nice ponds just a few miles down the road. It is a bit of a haul into Colorado Springs, although we went into town several times. If you want a beautiful quiet place out in the country, this is it.

Very quiet, treed, spacious, terraced gravel sites. Far different then the typical parking lot rv parks. With their acceptance of Passport America, it is a real bargain. The only drawback is the location being a ways out from downtown Colorado Springs and no ATT service. We had site 25 which was a very spacious long pull through with trees but the trees have been carefully trimmed to avoid any contact. There was a new wifi antenna directly adjacent to the site resulting in excellent wifi. Cable tv worked good. All other utilities worked good. Spacious private bathrooms. Large fenced dog park. A lot of motion detecting lighting that comes on when needed. Rate was based on average of one night of passport america and one night of full rate. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was a very well organized park. The site we had was large enough to put up our screen tent, have the picnic table in another spot, have chairs under our awning, and still have chairs around the fire pit. Our neighbors were screened from our site by our camper and a rock wall.

The service help in parking the camper was fantastic.

We would definitely visit again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We can't say enough good things about this campground. Its one of the top two campgrounds we've stayed at in the United states. Staff are friendly and helpful and you can use their phone in the lounge as needed. This was our second visit and it was just as good as we remembered it. Sites are spacious and wooded, trees are trimmed so its easy to maneuver around them, fire pits, picnic tables, everything you could want and still have a somewhat rustic feel. Distance to CS was not a problem for us. Only downside was the gravel trucks on the nearby roadway heading to and from a rock quarry. Deer and other wildlife are frequently seen. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Ten isn't a high enough score! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About 45 minutes from the Royal Gorge Railway which is a fun trip. Rapids/rafting is nearby also. Nearest Safeway grocery story is about 20 minutes away. There's a interesting one way drive near the prison in Canon City. Hard to find, but worth it, look for an archway on the far side of town on the north side. Phantom Ranch road was closed due to spring flooding, but its supposed to be a great drive if you have a jeep or similar vehicle.
