One of our all time favorite places to camp. The area is so relaxing with deer and other wildlife. Things you may not like, some sites have zip for internet and t v reception. It is a little distance from shopping etc. Still we feel the friendly folks that run the place and the smell of the pines make it an almost perfect camp for us. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a lovely campground, beautifully laid out & landscaped. The staff is very friendly. You are escorted to your site. There are deer that wander the park. The cable worked well as did the WiFi. The laundry was very clean & very reasonably priced. The sites were very level & the hook ups well placed. The sites were spacious. The park is very pet friendly. Passport America rate is available for three nights Sunday - Thursday. That said the drawbacks are, the only grass is by the dump station. The park is off the beaten path. There is no cell service but there is a land line that you can use in the lounge. The only restaurant in the area is about 14 miles away; Gooseberry Patch. The good far outways the bad & we would definitely stay there again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite parks in the US. The owner and staff are outstanding!

Every year the park is better than the prior year. Fresh new landscaping improvements and WiFi has been greatly improved. As always we saw a lot of deer, turkey and even a fox this year. The lay out of the park is unique in that it feels more like a community than your typical line em up pack em in park. We love it I am sure you will too.

Mountaindale is a very nice campground off the beaten track. The sites are level and I saw maintenance actually using survey equipment to level a site. The entire campground is well packed gravel with beautiful landscaping.

The Wi-Fi worked fine but I didn't like having to log in twice to use it. There are numerous repeaters throughout the CG and you have to experiment to find the best one. Again, you have to log in twice to each one.
Cable is analog and reception at my site was snowy.

This CG is a nice base camp while touring the Colorado Springs area. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly and accommodating. Staff is very attentive and helpful. We are staying for a couple of months, and made reservations at the last minute. This required us to move a couple of times in the first weeks until we settled into our permanent spot, and staff were extremely helpful in facilitating these moves. The park is just the right distance from Colorado Springs - ~20 minutes on good, fast roads. Quiet, clean and full of wildlife to enjoy. I hesitate to recommend highly as it will only mean a harder time to get a reservation next year, but I have to give it to them - this is one of the best parks we have stayed at as fulltimers. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I agree with most of the reviews and will stay there again. The rock haulers were a little annoying during the day, but most people gone on day trips anyhow. We got to watch maneuvers by the soldiers at Ft Carson in helicopters . The numerous deer in the park were an added attraction. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The sites were as big as I have ever seen at any park. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Just gets better every year; they have improved the WIFI, some heavy rains which drained fast and zero mud. Lots of Deer. They are working hard to increase the number of sites with another terrace. Sites are level clean and huge. Will be back next year; one of the best RV parks period. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We previously stayed at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort on our way to California. It was such an amazing place, we decided to stay again on our way back to Alabama. It was even more delightful than the first time.

The staff is so friendly, the park is absolutely gorgeous and I have already made reservations to stay there in June and August of next year.

The laundry room is modern and spacy; the grounds are immaculate and the store is well stocked.

Each site is very large and lined with beautiful Colorado rock.

They have an ice cream social every Sat. night and complimentary donuts and coffee Sun. morning.

I would recommend this campground to anyone who is passing through Colorado.

We are looking forward to enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the quiet, serene atmosphere of Mountaindale. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

There's a lot to like about this location. Most of the campground is red gravel, tightly compacted to eliminate dust and provide an 'almost concrete' surface, although better looking. Due to some late scheduling we had to move to three different sites for three nights. Each site was spacious with easy access and an escort was quickly provided. Trees are trimmed so as not to get in the way, yet provide privacy and shade. WiFi actually worked, although typically slow. To give you some idea of the attention to detail in this campground, the roads are lined with little street lights about three feet high. Normally dim, when motion is detected they become much brighter for a few minutes. Nice touch!
If I have a complaint, not sure that I do, it's the staff repeatedly telling me how great it is at Mountaindale. When I was in business it was the customer that decided, not the employees! Location is a relatively secluded twenty five minute ride from Colorado Springs. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Colorado Springs has become SO commercialized and crowded it's no longer a great destination. The Flying W Chuck Wagon dinners are a thing of the past, the Garden of the Gods is now in a residential section of town, and traffic is miserable. Sorry!

The price indicates good Sam. For PA it will be $22.00

They don't take PA between Fri-Sun.

Very friendly staff that worked hard to resolve our issues.

Great wifi reception though bandwidth is limited so no streaming. Spacious flat sites arranged in different elevation and direction, no traffic noise.

Campground is paved with red coarse gravel which is not so pet friendly even though it looks very nice for people.

There are few back in sites that back to a small creek but they mostly very sunny with no shade. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Agree with recent reviews, will add comments about staying during a significant rain event, which we experienced. The gravel sites did fine as most are elevated, a few near the entry had some standing mud puddles, as did some of the park roads. We looked at the more 'convenient' in-town parks, which are unbelievably crowded together. No comparison here - lots of trees, well maintained, huge sites. The 17 mile trip into central Colo Springs is a small price to pay for the benefits. Downside is frequent fully-loaded gravel trucks use the adjacent county road, 3+ per hour during work hours. Quiet at night. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Three nights we used the Passport America rate listed above and one night we paid full price. We enjoyed our stay. It is a quiet and calm park with friendly, helpful staff that are always working to improve the park. There were several long term campers but their sites were well kept and they were very friendly. Lots of wildlife and a beautiful stream. We saw bear tracks, deer, rabbits, etc. (One deer peeked into our RV while we were having breakfast.) We had full hook-ups, Verizon cell service (no AT&T), and cable. About a 20-25 minute drive to Colorado Springs attractions. There is a store on site with the basic essentials. We will stay here again.

We stayed here in a 25 foot motorhome but the sites would (and did) accommodate motorhomes of all sizes. The park is in the process of enlarging the sites and adding landscaping but we stayed in the older section. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Get hiking nearby - Drive to Helen Hunt Falls and hike on to Silver Cascade Falls. Next, stop by the Mt. Cutler trail and hike to a beautiful view of the Seven Falls. These are easy to moderate hikes and are good hikes to help you adjust to the altitude.

We also recommend Garden of the Gods which you can view driving or hiking. The Air Force Academy tour was very good and we also had a great time taking backroads with our four wheel drive toad.

Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights while in the area. Lots of long term campers and the park is big rig friendly. Well kept up facilities. Located about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs on Rte 115. Your rating on the park depends on what is important to you. Here are the pros and cons that we saw. Pros: Friendly staff, clean and neat park, adequate space between spots, deer around in the evening, good walking trails nearby, good park if you stay around your camper during the day, playground and dog park. Cons: No AT&T cell coverage, far enough away from Colorado Springs to be some hassle, occasional low water pressure, lots of variation in campsite utilities and layouts (some have cable, some don't, some have sewer, some don't, etc). TV antenna reception very limited. Wi-Fi difficult to access much of the time. Again, this is a nice park with hard working staff, so check with campground before arriving if certain utilities are important to you. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very quiet and secluded campground. Bathroom/showers are private, each having a toilet, sink, and shower, just like home. The campground was extremely clean. Lots of dogs being walked by their owners through the park, but I didn't see one poopy anywhere. Everyone picks up after their dogs. Most sites are spacious. All roads and sites are crushed gravel. I would give it a 10 except for the constant truck traffic running past the park starting at 6:00 am from a rock quarry up the road. I'd definitely stay again. Just got back home from staying 5 days at this wonderful park. The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to make room for us even though we didn't have a reservation. Reservations are highly recommended, as this place fills up fast. Even though our site didn't have cable , everything else made up for it. Every time I went outside to do something the staff stopped by to see if I needed help or to ask if I needed anything. The other utilities worked as they should, and the Wi-Fi was adequate. Not super fast, but strong signals and never dropped connection. Our site was gravel and level. It rained several times while we were there and never had to deal with mud or sinking in the gravel. Had deer wander through the campground every evening and was very enjoyable for my wife to watch them. I would HIGHLY recommend this campground and will definitely return if we are ever in the area again. This place is probably the quietest park we ever stayed in and VERY peaceful. I just can't say enough good things about this place. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
