Nice, typical KOA. Staff friendly, nice facility and some views from many of the sites. They let us turn around and face the mountains, and we had an excellent view. We paid $50, tax inclusive, for water and power. For that $, I thought we should've had better internet. It was slow to hook up, and very slow to load pages. I used way Verizon MiFi instead, and the service on that was slow too (but better). We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Motorhome.

Okay for a night or two max. Convenient to Mesa Verde, only reason we stopped. Extremely overpriced for water and electric. Tightest sites we've seen in awhile, literally door to door with neighbors. Staff was very nice. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Unlevel, gravel site. Wifi and utilities OK except as noted below. Decent location about 1 mile from the edge of town and 8 miles from Mesa Verde. This campground has their campsite's private sides facing each other, roughly 10 feet away so the picnic tables and fire rings are side by side. A very strange and unwelcome setup. Reserved and paid for a 50 amp site and received a 30 amp site plus an argument from the owner that we were wrong. When attempting to show the owner the KOA email confirmation showing 50 amp, he abruptly drove off. Over-priced and over-crowded sites. Will certainly not stay here again. We'll try Sundance RV park on our way back instead. Cheaper and better reviews. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Our GPS devices brought us right to the KOA. The front desk was friendly and efficient. The interior roads and sites were gravel. We were in a long pull thru and it took a little jockeying since the power pedestal was at the front of the site and our cord connection is at the rear of the Lifestyle. We had to add our sewer hose extension. Once settled the hookups went smoothly. We had a good line of sight for our roof mounted satellite dish. The Verizon cellphone signal and 4g signals were pretty good. This is a very nice park in a great location. We would stay here again. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was pricey for just water, electric, and sewer. There was no cable. Internet was slow; phone and tv reception were poor. Area was all gravel. Restrooms were very clean. Dryers put out very little heat. It was convenient to Mesa Verde National Park. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful Park! It's proximity to Mesa Verde, Anasazi Heritage Center, and Canyons of the Ancients National Park makes this a good place to camp. We were lucky to be there the week they opened for the season. Not many campers at the property. We did not have neighbors for the 10 days we stayed. We had spectacular views of the Mesa from the front window of our motorhome. There is a wonderful little lake with a one-mile path around it. The bathrooms are a bit older, but very clean and the showers and dressing rooms are spacious. Water pressure was great. The pool was not opened, but the area was nice, as was the play area for the kiddos. The owners and staff were wonderful. There's a great "camp" store. Previous reviews mentioned the way motorhomes are "parked". Instead of the motorhomes heading in the same direction they are opposite. One may face north; the next-door neighbor faces south. The result is that neighbors face each other and share the common area. I could see where that might be uncomfortable. However, the park has so many other positive attributes, it wouldn't stop us from staying again. I think it's the nicest park in Cortez and we would definitely stay again. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Motorhome.

I wish all RV parks were laid out this way. Sites are not lined up in a straight line but angled so lots of room between units and lots of privacy. Location is excellent as it's minutes away from Mesa Verde National Park. Friendly and accommodating staff. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Motorhome.

We stay here at least once a year--and it is always a pleasure. Nice walk around pond for nature and to take dogs, dog park right there, great views.
Owners are pleasant and thoughtful. Good areas for tent camping too. Close to town for shopping and to restaurants. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA is in a great location, right at the edge of Cortez, and a short drive to Mesa Verde. The campground is pretty large, and sites vary quite a bit from one area to the next. Our area was a huge gravel lot with almost no trees, so it wasn't very attractive. Other parts of the campground are more wooded and look a little nicer. Many of the RV sites are very narrow and close together, with RVs parked facing alternating directions with shared utilities between them (an arrangement we're not fans of). Some of the sites are wider and traditionally arranged--our site was one of these which we appreciated. The free WiFi worked pretty well during the day, but was quite slow during the evenings. Both AT&T and Verizon worked well without a booster. There's a nice walking trail around the nearby lake, and the large Cortez Dog Park is a very short walk from the campground. We loved the dog park and were there with our Lab every afternoon. We'd stay here again, due to the great central location and great dog park. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Motorhome.

I stayed just one night on my way through. The park is very pretty in the front and inviting. In the back it is a gravel parking lot but very well taken care of, neat and tidy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. My particular site #48, was spacious, almost level, and since I was on the back row had a beautiful view. I was able to park my 42' without having to disconnect my truck and still had plenty of room. The sewer connection was a bit to the back of the site, but I didn't use it so not sure how far it really was. Looked just fine to me.

This is a big rig friendly place and easy to maneuver. I don't mind all the gravel which someone else commented on, as I would rather have that than dirt. And this park is very well maintained which means all the gravel is super packed and level.

Very inviting nature walk around the pretty lake and my dogs loved that. There is also a fenced 3 acre off-leash park maintained by the county which is nice and close. I didn't use Wifi, laundry or bathrooms, but from what I could see as I walked around it was all as nice as the parking area. I would definitely stay again and would stay for multiple days if visiting the area. The only caveat I have is there were not many rigs here so I can't comment on how it would be if the park were full. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Motorhome.

A nice park, on gravel. Nice pool area with community tables and BBQ. No individual firepits. Great location to explore Mesa Verde. Clean laundry room (some machines did not work well). Very clean and nice restrooms and showers. Wi fi/phone reception is spotty. We pulled in at night to find our spot occupied. It was difficult to find anyone to help as the office was closed, the phone did not answer. It was resolved the next morning -freeloaders. The park is very clean. Many sites have shade trees. Sites not huge but big enough for my 35' fifth wheel and truck. Sites were level with good WiFi. Used as four-night base to visit the 4 corners, worked well. Outstanding view of Mesa Verde and Sleeping Ute mountains from the site. I will stay here again. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
