This park is located very close to the National Park. The staff was VERY helpful with local information and advice on RV friendly roads. The wifi worked great. The site was level with central hook ups. Overall we thought without the PA discount the price was quite high, (considering the ammentities available) but other parks in the area charge about the same. Our site was a pull through, but the staff did say it would be difficult because of the trees near the site, both getting in and leaving. We took our time and had no major issue and we are 40 feet. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Level gravel site in town with FHUs and wifi that worked. Price was with Passport America for one night. We have a 40' MH with toad which we had to park parallel and close to MH. I didn't hear any trains which is unusual for an rv park. We would return. Easy in and out. Finding the entrance coming in is the trick. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Although entrance is marked with a large "RV Park" sign, it was difficult to distinguish between that entrance, the one to the gas station, and the road just passed it. It was easy to circle back to the entrance however. Owner was very nice and provided information about what to see while there. She gave us the site because it was longer and did not have cable (which we don't use anyway). She advised us about the tree in the back of the site but failed to warn us about the large one in front. In positioning the RV to miss the rear one, we hit a large branch and tore a chunk out of the front corner of our rig . It was the off season so we were able to extend our stay with no problem. We were able to get 82 channels off our antenna which included the news and weather from Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, and Albequerque. The Passport America discount was only good one night. The other two nights we got a 15% veterans' discount. The rate listed is the average of the 3 nights we were there. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mesa Verde NP is a full day trip, especially in the summer when Weatherill Loop is open. The Anasazi Museum is very kid friendly with hands-on activities. The volunteers working the day we were there were very knowledgeable about sights to see on our way south. Four Corners Monument is about a 40 minute drive.

Had a great stay for a week. The owner was very helpful telling us about sites to see in the area. Location was perfect for the day trips. A lot to see and do around Cortez, Co. We will come back here again when in the area. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great little park to use as home base for day trips. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. We took in all the sites she directed us to, and have tons of great pictures! Park has clean restrooms, showers and a washer & dryer. Bonus - the WiFi was excellent. I would say this park has everything you need and if by chance you forgot something - it is close to town. We even had great pedicures at Pro Nails in town. We'll be back!! We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small, crowded park. Had to move the picnic table off my site because there was no room for it once I parked. The individual in the rig next to mine was smoking in his rig with the windows open, and I had to close all my windows on that side because we were so close. All back-ins, some with tricky angles. Not much in the way of amenities. That being said, the customer service was outstanding and the wifi much better than at most parks. No o/a tv. Not the greatest value, but seems to be the best value in Cortez anyway. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Passport America members pay $20, so the value is fairly good. However, sometimes only certain sites are available with the discount. Ours was a back-in near a noisy car wash, and next to a not so neat permanent trailer. It is well worth the stay, however, for all that Cortez area offers. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

It is right on Hwy 190 but there was very little road noise. The park has 35 sites and is all gravel. Roads are easy to navigate. Ours was a pull through with full hook-ups, fairly long, level and plenty wide The laundry room has one washer and one dryer, so our laundry was done in town. Not a lot of places to walk the dog so we went off site. The WiFi was good and our Verizon signal was good. We stayed July 21-28, 2017 and paid $29.54 a night with our Good Sam discount. One of the best things of this stay was when the camp hosts came out of the office and sang Happy Birthday to me after a friend called for a recommendation for a florist. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As other reviews have stated, this is a small park (30+ sites) on the west side of Cortez. We had site 32 which is a great pull-thru with plenty of room on both sides and a large shade tree (careful pulling out). The site was level with good electric. There are what appear to be some full time sites, but the park is quiet and well maintained and it's access to Mesa Verde NP can't be beat. Cash or Check only, no CC. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small park gravel sites. People in office very nice and helpful. Close to shops, restaurants and national park. Pull through sites and back in, only bad thing is that behind the back ins is a car wash and can be very load and constant even at night and early morning. Smaller RV Park on the outer side of Cortez. Check in was pleasant. The park is a gravelled lot, demarked by a central grass strip. Sites to the left are back Ins, on the right are pull throughs. Our site had a few trees to negotiate but had enough room. I needed two Lego blocks to be level. Utilities were fine. The park is nothing special, really, but ok for a few nights. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Anasazi Cultural Center (8 miles) features a small interesting Museum and the ruins of Pueblo Escalante. A short paved 1/2 mile walk up a gentle slope leads to the Pueblo, with nice views of Mesa Verde NP and Lake McPhee.

Park is a small park but clean and pretty quiet. Pull thru and back in sites. We had a back in with plenty of room and satellite. We stayed a week so we couldn't have a pull thru. No problem. Would stay again. The only thing I didn't like were the hookups unground and hard to get to. I think it was the only site like that. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.
