Stayed at this park after visiting Mesa Verde. Nice clean park with fairly level sites. The office was closed after 5:00pm, so met with the camp host and he was very helpful. Selected site from white board that was listed as available and pulled in. Wi-Fi was hit or miss. It worked ok with one laptop and phones, but did not work with another laptop or Xbox. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Across the street there is a large park with a playground and the Colorado Welcome Center. Very useful for travelers with kids or in need of tourist info.

We pulled in and it had snowed...many slots were snowed in. However, the staff helped us find a 'great' site for our camper. The laundry room, bath rooms and rec room where clean and well lit. Very enjoyable stay. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a dog park about a mile from the RV park.

Nice park for access to Mesa Verde National Park. The sites were all well maintained by a diligent staff that seemed to be working constantly to keep everything nice. Each site had a picnic table and full hookups. Quite a few full time residents that seem overly concerned that overnight guests will do something wrong. The park is very nice however we will probably check out one of the others next time we are in the area. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to go to the visitor's center across the street, everyone is very helpful on things to do based on the duration of your stay! Huge amount of maps and information for any adventure!

The office staff is very courteous and accommodating when we asked if we could stay an additional day, however, the maintenance staff is unfriendly and abrasive. Our service dog was outside for less than 30 minutes to take care of his business and the maintenance staff made a point of immediately confronting us to let us know that another park resident (fulltime) was going to be evicted for not cleaning up after their pet. We are very conscientious about cleaning up after our pets, but would at least appreciate the opportunity to let the dog finish before being reprimanded. Trust factor is 1, with the threat of eviction (2-day stay) we were worried as to whether or not we would find a note on our window. The park is located in town, on the main street. Traffic is consistent and loud. Again, as with smaller parks, if you are not a "regular" you are dis-respected. Water is at 90 pounds of pressure so beware. The four star rating confirms paved road, level, gravel sites, however, one confrontation with a sour camp host can certainly put a damper on any desire to stay more than one or two days. Although we only wanted to clean our windshield, we felt it necessary to pay the $5.00 fee to wash to entire coach so as not to offend the maintenance staff. One should not have to pay extra to avoid confrontation. We will not stay here again nor recommend this park. We are experienced camp hosts and know the importance of making guests feel welcome and comfortable... and how important pets are to guests. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before and returned because of the friendliness and service of the staff. Our long, level pull thru was shaded by trees, with just enough open sky to get satellite signal. All utilities worked properly and the laundry was spotless. We will return if we are in the area. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A day trip to Hovenweep Nat'l Monument and the Four Corners Monument was well worth the time. You can touch four states at once. Breakfast at Jack and Jannel's restaurant next door to the park had great food at reasonable prices

This in-town park is heavily wooded, with only a couple satellite-friendly sites but the very friendly managers will work to get you what you need. Most spots are back-in. WiFi was problematical. A Visitors Center, with information about Mesa Verde N.P. and other attractions is across the street and it's an easy walk to restaurants and stores. Pepperhead Restaurant had excellent southwestern fare and unique margaritas. Cortez is at the heart of Native American cliff dwelling territory with Mesa Verde N.P. the main draw. A nearby Anasazi Heritage Center adds perspective and there are walking trails in the Escalante Ruins. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Mesa Verde National Park main entrance is about three miles east of town but the main part is a 16-mile switchback-filled drive into the park. Tickets for ranger-led tours of cliff dwellings are available at the park's Visitor Center or the other visitor center in town. Allow more than one day to get a full sampling of Mesa Verde.

Very clean restrooms with plenty of hot water. RV site level and shaded; easy in and out. Adult camp--no playground. Convenient to NP, 4 Corners, Hovenweep and amenities. Staff very helpful. Great wifi! We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great water pressure. Fast internet. Electric and sewer at site. Helpful friendly family camp hosts! They really made the campground special. Felt very safe. Outdoor and Indoor pool at rec center across street with great water slides. Everything was super clean and the washer/dryers were very nice. We will return to this campground. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Rec center across the street was Great! Wonderful large outdoor pool with neat slides. There is also an indoor pool with 2 pools - one for smaller kids with slides & lazy river - the other pool has diving board and lap area. So many things to do around this campground.

We spent three nights here; roads are paved, sites are gravel, most using a block or two on lower side but pretty liveable without them, great water pressure. Well maintained, very clean public areas; excellent showers. Great hosts start the stay off right. Good washers and dryers; WiFi is weak at the lower end of the park. We'll be back. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Good little restaurant next door. It's Cortez - lots to do.

This was a very nice place for a short stay and was easy to get into. There are quite a few long term campers in this park. Staff was helpful in getting into a site even when we arrived after hours. This campground had a lot of big trees in it and created a little problem in moving the rig around. The sites are quite close together. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited Mesa Verde, Canyon of the Ancients and Hovenweep National Parks while here.

In the middle of town but quiet. Back in sites on outside perimeter and pulls through sites in the center. No activities at the park but great place to camp, go get out and see the sites around Cortez. Laundry and showers. Showers are as clean as any I have seen. Showers and bathroom are well designed. All sites are full hookup. Excellent wifi and tv. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mesa Verda National Monument is a scenic drive with several pit houses and cliff dwellings. Several other parks in the area.

We were thrilled & stayed two weeks when originally only one week was the plan. This place is ideally located just east of town, extremely quiet and clean. Our hosts were fantastic. They do close the combination building (restrooms, showers & laundry) from 12 noon to 2 PM everyday to clean. We would recommend Sundance RV to anyone. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Electric & Sewer good, Water @ 40psi. Didn't use Wi-Fi. AT&T Cell Phone good, AT&T Air 4G Card poor, Verizon 4G LTE Air Card good but not great. Cable good and clear with many channels. Sites are gravel and fairly level. The campground is mildly sloped causing need to level more from side to side. Sites are wide and the pull thru's are very long with plenty of room between sites with some grass. Interior road is asphalt and in good condition. Restrooms & Laundry are good and clean. There are some long term tenants but the area is clean and neat. DirecTV Satellite is accessible but may be a problem in some sites due to trees. They accept numerous discounts ask for your best one. Not a Passport America campground. Payment by credit card is accepted. This is a nice campground. I have been to all three campgrounds in Cortez and this one is by far the better one. I would stay here if in the area again. Also the restaurant next door looks run down but it has a very good breakfast. The sausage patty is bigger than the palm of your hand. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If a park is neat, clean, and do what they advertise it gets a 7 from us. Sundance deserves an 8 (maybe a 9) as it is above average. The restrooms/showers are cleaned daily and it is done well, and there are bathmats in each shower compartment. The staff is friendly and attends to problems. It is well positioned as a base camp to visit all the sites (and there are a lot). Negatives: Our site 52 had the cleaning area for an equipment rental directly behind us. Pressure washing noise started early and was off an on all day. This is not the Park's fault but the sites in this area will be affected. Also, the bathrooms/showers are not accessible per ADA standards. The wifi was very good and the water/elec/sewer was first rate. Note: If plain simple food is to your liking don't hesitate to go to Jack and Janelle's next door. (Ask for the Senior discount if you qualify.) We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not sure about the rate, however, know this is a nice simple park for n overnight and convenient to many things in town as it is center of the Main Street. Easy in and a staff member was happy to open the back gate to let us out in the morning to come up a street to a stop light so we didn't have to dodge traffic to go back to the west. Very nice staff We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
