Nice quite clean park close to restaurants & stores, right on Main street. Host knows the area area attractions which are many. Most are here for Mesa Verde but that's just the start, Anasazi heritage center, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument should be on your short list. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

sites were gravel and close together. The dog area was gravel. Not much grass for pets. We only stayed one night but would stay here again. AT &T cell phone service worked well. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great park right in the middle of town next to everything. The sites are gravel but they are level. Plenty of grass in the front for the dog and the park is right across the street if you need more room. Camp hosts are extremely friendly and always willing to help. This is a very nice park. Our site was wide and easy to get into. It's slightly sloping but not hard to level up. Had no problem getting my 34' 5th wheel into the park or into our site. Streets are wide and paved. Only stayed one night, but would definitely come again. Would recommend getting reservation before getting there. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Sundance RV Park is the right park in the right location for stops in this area. The location on Main Street is convenient to restaurants and shopping. If you are planning a trip to Mesa Verde National Park, 10 miles North, this is a great stop. There is a Mesa Verde information center across the street from the RV park. The staff is friendly and most are full time RVers, full of information about Cortez and the local area. The sites, common areas, and restrooms are cleaned regularly and it shows. The only improvement we would recommend is a fenced dog park. The designated pet area was gravel with a split rail fence. Our site was nice, a pull-through, spacious, level and gravel with some grass. The main road through the park is paved. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Don't miss Mesa Verde! Ask the host to exit with your RV through the back exit, usually locked and open between 8am and noon, and you can get back on Main Street with a light.

This is an exceptionally clean and well-maintained RV park. Restroom, laundry, and shower facilities were sparkling clean. 24/7 laundry and restrooms with security code. My children loved the clean showers. We stayed in a 30 foot Class C MH with tow vehicle. Our site was very wide and literally could have been two RV sites. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mesa Verde National Park was 9 miles from the RV park. Lots of shopping including a Safeway and Walmart within one-half mile of Sundance RV park. Easy in and out of the RV park. Many RV accessible gas stations in the area. Great Mexican Restaurant down the road, next to the Days Inn.

Rate monthly rate and no electric charges. Good asphalt interior roads reduced dust. Friendly work campers and clean restrooms. Most sites had shade and some had small grass areas. Various size back in and pull thru with room between sites. Our site had plenty of room for 43 foot fifth wheel, truck, and three wheel motorcycle. Minus was the gravel dog area was not fenced and no pool or children's area. There was a large shaded grass area at the front of the park. We liked this park and would return. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent 8 days here over Memorial Day and found this to be a very nice park in a central location to see Mesa Verde, Durango, Four Corners, Hovenweep, and Canyon of the Ancients. The staff was very nice. The park was quiet and clean. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge RR is a must see as is Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, and Canyons of the Ancients. Four corners is strictly a tourist trap but we felt it was worth seeing since we were close. If you want pizza or Italian food we recommend Lotsa Pasta & That'ze Pizza restaurant. Excellent food.

We stayed one night. The spaces are fairly tight. Not impossible, but tight. A back in site could be difficult if you have a long rig, due to narrow interior roads. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Swing wide and square-up to enter the park. This is your "basic" rv park. Not one you would take pictures of and send home to brag about. We have stayed here before and would again. We are 57 feet long, had to disconnect, but plenty of room to park next to the fiver! We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient to Mesa Verde National Park. We ate twice at Jack & Janelle's restaurant, which has a walkway from the front of this RV Park. The food is much better than the appearance!

We stayed 4 nights passing through the area to visit the nearby National Park Service sites. While the park is centrally located along a 5 lane busy commercial road in the center of town, the access is very difficult due to the angle getting off the street, over the sidewalk and down into the park. This arrangement posed a scrapping and collision hazard. We had made reservations in advance of our arrival. After we registered, paid for our stay and started setting up in the assigned pull thru site (#37), the staff informed us that we were going to have to move as the site was needed for a departing host. The site we were told to move to (#35) would not work for us due to the tree canopy and slope. Every excuse a woman who seemed to be acting in a manager role used to explain why we needed to move applied to the host she was trying to put in the site so there was no justification for us to move but she maintained that we had to move. She offered no compensation or incentive to mitigate this poor treatment that resulted in a significant inconvenience. This was the poorest customer service we have ever experienced in our 5 plus years of full timing. We tried to go to another park in town but they were full so we had to stay in this park. We ended up in a back in site that required extensive blocking in order to get level. The interior roads are paved and site parking pads are compacted gravel. There are a mixture of pull thru and back in sites. Some of the P/T's were not easy to get into due the angle from the roads. Some of the P/T's were long enough to remain connected to the toad but the others were wide enough to park 2 vehicles abreast if needed. As the park was built on sloping field, it showed the park didn't completely understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as some of the sites had a slight 2 directional pitch potentially creating a leveling problem.

For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. None of the structures in the park were identified as a severe weather shelter. Don't stay here due to the poor customer service displayed by the female who seemed to be in charge! We would not stay here again! We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sundance RV Park is an interesting place in that there are three camp hosts that rotate duty in the office. The entire park is well maintained by said on-duty hosts and there is a professional cleaning service that does the central laundry and showers/toilets daily. I used the laundry - $3 total for one load to wash & dry.

All sites are gravel with many sites enjoying plentiful shade. Some with partial shade and some in full sun. 50A power, good sewer connection pipe (must have sealed adapter) and strong water pressure that >>requires<< the use of a pressure regulator. Generous distance between sites means that your neighbor IS NOT so close as to hear their evening beer belches.

I stayed for 4 nights, and would have stayed a month ($640 w/discount) if my site had not been reserved by another traveler. The only sites available for a month were near the main street and its noise - I declined.

Wi-Fi is as it should be in every RV park - strong signal and FAST! Fast? Well, compared to other parks it's like lightening fast here. But in reality it does bog a little when there are lots of users on-line. But I was able to view a couple of youtube instructional videos at off-peak times with no 'buffering'.

Cortez is a working town that has lots of diversity of resources for the traveler without being too touristy. I prefer this versus the opposite.

Were I back this way in the future, I'd definitely book a long stay here. Good folks, great park and interesting town. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Burger Boy Drive In just down the street offers some absolutely delish fast food - burgers as good as they get - rivals In-n-Out, minus the 'animal style' grilled onions. Do check 'em out if you're as big a burger fan as I am.
