What a pleasure to be here after camping in sun-filled parking lots, posing as campgrounds. The gravel is raked but we still had to use levelers. The staff were delightful - helpful in every way. It is a quiet campground (even though it is in town) with both back in and pull though sites. There is a good many trees. The laundry has 6 washers and driers! Utilities, WiFi, and cable all perfect! The site was quite wide. We could park our vehicle next to our Airstream. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Shady, roomy sites. Better than average wifi. Nice park as a base to visit the many attractions in the area. Although there is a pet area, it is not fully enclosed so pets must remain on leash. Right on the Main Street through town, but minimal noise. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon of the Ancients visitor center very well done and definitely worth a visit. Also, the Guy Drew Vineyards was a highly entertaining stop featuring good, reasonably priced wines and a charming hostess.

Overall Rating:

Great place for a base camp to visit Mesa Verde and the many other parks in this area. We chose this park because it is midway between all the National Parks we wanted to visit in Utah and Colorado such as Monument Valley, Canyonlands, Archs, etc. In some case's it was a two hour car drive to the parks - but that is MUCH easier than moving the coach around - assuming you could even find a spot. Places like Arches and Moab are always filled and overpriced. The staff here is excellent and very helpful. The sites are all fairly level and most are treed enough that you may not get a good satellite signal. However, the cable TV and WiFi are very good. The only downside - it is a little difficult to enter the park from the main street when you are towing. However, they have installed a back gate which makes it very easy when you are leaving the park. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

This Park is in downtown Cortez, very convenient to the entire town. It is about 10 miles from the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park. The Park is covered mostly with mature trees, but a few spots are clear for satellite service. Sites are gravel, but some spaces also have grass pads. Picnic tables, but no concrete patio. There is a laundry facility and Cable TV is included in the rate. There is WiFi, basic not high speed, but consistent. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground right on Main Street of Cortez. Despite the location, there was very little road noise. The sites were good sized and shaded. We had grass and a picnic table on our site. Near the dumpster were containers for most recycling items. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a gem! This park is easy to navigate, the spaces are generous, the grounds are meticulously groomed and the staff go out of their way to make you feel most welcome. It's within walking distance to must about everything you need, including a very nice city park with fountains, ducks and disc golf. They have onsite recycling and propane can be delivered. Within a block is the best grocery store in town (City Market), Starbucks, the visitor center and two liquor stores. Thai Cortez has excellent food and the Casino has a $10.99 all-you-can-eat prime rib dinner! The real draw to this town is the cultural sites: Mesa Verde National Park, Hovenwheep NM, Canyons of the Ancients, several excellent museums and a number of festivals. The town is also the starting/ending point for the San Juan Skyway Scenic Drive...a must do!

This is our 4th time staying here. Obviously, we love it. There are other RV parks nearby and we've wanted to try them but this one is clean, neat, well-cared for, spacious and it's right in the middle of town so shopping and errands are easy. Staff is wonderful. Nice dog lawn up front (not fenced in). Clean, tidy bathrooms with good showers and water pressure. After each visitor leaves their spot, the staff comes out with the golf cart (with rakes attached at the back end) and makes the gravel smooth again for the next person. Nice touch. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

We arrived after hours and located our spot and instructions in a convenient envelope by the office. I had requested a spot close to restrooms since my RV is not de-winterized yet and we got a great spot. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly host. This park is well maintained and within walking distance to great restaurants and a grocery store !! I would absolutely stay here again. Clean facilities ! this was a great spot to stay in between Four Corners and Mesa Verde visits. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park in Cortez. Fortunately we had a reservation since the park was full when we pulled in at 5 P.M. The bathrooms were spotless. The laundry room was also clean (did not use). Free wifi plus had cable tv channels. Very quiet park considering in the middle of town with major road in front of park. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This was a nice RV park. We did unhook our toad to go grocery shopping at Walmart which was just down the street. Did not have much time to explore Cortez since we were only there for the night and left early the next morning. We bought gas for motor home at Shell station near Walmart.

Sundance has to be one of the better RV campgrounds we've stayed at on our most recent cross country trips. First, such a helpful and friendly staff, and it only gets better. The sites are shaded from the hot Colorado sun by large mature trees. The sites are quite wide. We could easily have parked our tow vehicle along side the motorhome and thrown in a large picnic table between the two of them. The road(s) thru the park are asphalt while the sites themselves are larger "clean" gravel stones. As each rig leaves staff members are there with rakes making sure each site is clean and the gravel level. There is plenty of thick beautiful green grass around this park that your pets will love as well as a dog play area. The bath/shower/laundry facilities are spotless and up to date w/4 washers and 5 dryers. This park does not have a pool but the city park is directly across the street with its own large water slide. While on the Main Street in Cortez we had little if any noise! We camped at Sundance in a motorhome w/toad. We are already planning a return trip next you to again visit Mesa Verde Nat'l and would not stay anyplace other than Sundance. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had a pull through spot #33, right next to laundry/shower/bathrooms. The site is really wide. Wide enough for our trailer and our truck to be side by side and still have room for the picnic table! Pretty quiet because traffic dies down in the evening. Close to 2 supermarkets, gas stations and the freeway. Visitor info center is right across the street where you can tour tickets for Mesa Verde. Within 10 miles of Mesa Verde National Park. Hosts were very friendly. Bathrooms, showers and laundry were super clean! WiFi was excellent, although it did disconnect occasionally but I got easily back on. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Loved this park. Extra clean, quiet. They even rake the gravel when an RV leaves and delivers packages/mail to your RV. Close to Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. (rate based on weekly).
